Xbox Live Countdown to 2013 sale [begins Dec 18th]

Hooray for free stuff. I've never seen The Walking Dead nor have any interest in the series, but free stuff is free stuff so why not? I'm downloading it now (US here).

I'll be damned if this game that's gotten a ton of GOTY awards this year, turns me into a fan and makes me want to buy the rest of the episodes.

I hate zombie games and have no interest in Walking dead comics or the TV show, I just finished Ep. 5 on the disc and WOW that was awesome. I totally understand the awards, praise and attention this is getting, cant wait for more.

Still zero interest in the show.

I have Kinect and was addicted to fruit ninja on Android, how is this version? Also has anyone tried Co op on leedmees, seems like it could be fun to play with my girlfriend!

Leedmees coop is fun. The game requires a fair amount of coordination between the two players and generally results in somewhat compromising positions. I believe you can try out the coop in the demo.

Thanks, I will give it a shot then. Read a review that said coop was a bit broken but will test it out

Only tried SP in Fruit Ninja Kinect but it is awesome. Tracks really well compared to most other Kinect games, puts a shadow up on screen to make it easier to know where you are in relation to the camera. Totally worth 400 allards, I even bought the DLC since it is so cheap.

I've played a tiny bit so far. It looks really good. The facial animations combine with the cell shaded visuals are pretty sweet. I like point and click adventure games. It seems to have a mix of controlling the character ala a 3D adventure game. I do like the dialogue choices as well.

Funny thing is I've managed the lines for Robert Kirman for 2 years at the NY Comic Con.

I don't know if I should remove the hints. In standard mode the game gives away what you have to do.

I passed on Trails Evolution because I want to be sure and have enough points for Skyrim addons. I said it earlier in this thread and I'll say it again: By not telling customers the price of the addons in advance, people can not budget available MS points for sales prior to it. It's pretty frustrating!

Just bought Trials Evolution, TE: Origin of Pain DLC, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, and the Walking Dead Episode 1. If I like Ep. 1 enough then I might get the later episodes. I have just enough points for them.

Oh my God! Why does The Walking Dead have to give the player blue balls by ending on a cliffhanger and show the player what's going to play out in the next episode? Those SOB's at Tell Tale are so sadistic forcing some very tough decisions on the player since ME1's big decision 3/4 into the game (
Kaidan or Ashley
). ;_;

I was
honest with Hershel, chose Duck over Shawn because he was child (49% of players did), sided with Larry, gave Irene the gun (45% of players did; I was gonna tell Carly to shoot her, but decided it'd be best to have Irene put herself out of her inevitable fate), and I chose Carly over Doug simply because she had a gun like many players did)

Now I have to get the rest of the episodes because I want to see what happens next. I hate to say it, but I'm sold. I can't believe it. Now I know why it's surprisingly good. This game man. :(

im sure its on purpose. they get people to spend more that way.

oops! i spent too much on that one deal that was too good to pass up, now i dont have enough points for this! time to get some more points...

Got origins of pain, fruit ninja and rock of ages. Gonna try leedmees when I get home. Doubt there will be anything else in this sale to attract my attention

Agreed, very frustrating. I'm hoping to get all of the DLC for Skyrim and maybe even Oblivion (I heard the Shivering Isles is worth it) but I really have no idea what it will cost.

Haha, oh man, that's nothing bro.

I want The Walking Dead, Borderlands 2: Season Pass and Skyrim: Full Game. I will have to hold off on the rest. If that comes in under $50 I'll be happy.

Was counterstrike good on Xbox?

Not particularly. It's mediocre.
I played a few weeks ago, and matchmaking threw me into a game with people from a few different continents. Quit out and researched for another quick game - threw me back into that same server.
I believe the community is almost non-existent.

Console versions haven't seen a single update to the game since it launched over 4 months ago, while the PC version has received many updates.
Either VALVE has abandoned the game to die on consoles (like they did Team Fortress2) or they're waiting for a substantial amount of new content before they update the game.
My money is on the former.

For $6 though, fun can be had. Sure.
Bot matches are fun, at the least.

Great sale, for me.

After Dust, I got the complete pack of Trials Evo (the newest DLC too, since it wasn't that expensive) e the DLCs of HD (I know I won't play it that much, but I wanted to see the new tracks and all) and also - quite surprisingly - Hydro Thunder Hurricane: this last one has been a revelation... I always ignored it and never imagined it could be that good: so much fun to play.

Tempted by The Walking Dead, but I still want to get the boxed special edition for PS3...

I was planning to buy Mark of the Ninja and Dust but decided not to, and it actually feels really good not to have bought them. My backlog is getting big so I'll only buy games that I really want or that are really cheap. I'm definitely getting the Walking Dead when the sale is up.

I'm sure you already know, but dragonborn isn't part of the sale. I thought it was until I looked into it. only ones on sale will be that vampire one and the building one. pretty darn frustrating. :/

People need to realise that there is better stuff available, the yearly feed of COD and Halo.

Stop wasting your money on mediocre shit.

yearly halo games? what does this have to do with the sales thread anyway? channel that anger into something positive and beneficial. might I suggest wood whittling. the manliest of hobbies.

Hehe, tell me about it. Mine's getting close to 200 digital games on XBLA alone, a lot of which I haven't even played yet.
Yet, I can't resists some of these deals.

Thinking of getting the Borderlands 2 Season Pass as well tomorrow.
Is it really worth it?

Halo Reach came out in 2010, Einstein.

Not that I mind myself, but still:

Halo 3 - September 25, 2007
Halo 3: ODST - September 22, 2009
Halo: Reach - September 14, 2010
Halo : Combat Evolved anniversary November 10, 2011
Halo 4 - November 6, 2012

Was counterstrike good on Xbox?

Garbage. Do not make the same mistake as I did, I've bought the game blind for 1200 MS Points (shame on me). This game feels so outdated and looks like shit on console.
This game should run at 60 fps and not at 30 fps. Waste of money.

Nothing in 2008! Annual, my ass.

I got episode 1 since, hey, it's free. I haven't played it yet, but I remember being infuriated in the demo by not being able to invert the Y axis control. Did that ever get fixed?

I may suck it up and get the rest if the price is right though, I hear nothing but good things about this series, and if not for the Y axis thing, I'd have probably loved it...

odst was an expansion for H3. reach is a side game and CEA is a remake of an existing game.not yearly at all.

Why does it matter if it's a remake or that Master Chief isn't in it? Completely irrelevant. I don't care that Halo is annualised, but to deny it or make excuses for it is silly.
remake means a game existed already.i dont see how that can count since it isnt new.reach you can count i guess,i look at it as a side game though.also bungie needed to make that fulfill their contract.
