Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Uncharted GA was kinda like Uncharted 1 except with enemies that were actually fun to shoot instead of being slippery, bullet sponges. Even had QTE bosses. 2nd best game in the series.

stamp. stamp. stamp.

Been neglecting both my Vita and Vitagaf recently D:

Considering buying Vagrant Story along with Alundra in January. No gaems

I'll put up the Alundra lets play thread on sunday probably. Be prepared!

And I had the same issues. Couldnt game much due to Christmas, and my work got me interested in the type of game I am translating atm again. Probably going to sink a few dozen hours into a few strategy games before getting back to serious Vita gaming (aside from the Alundra lets play in january and chess moves).

I thought Uncharted GA was excellent, but weaker than 2 and 3 (Which I would consider two of the best games this generation)

ZHP is strategy? :)

I will be there for the Alundra LP. Glad it sounds like you found some work, btw.

Might try and organise some GAF Ragnarok over the next day or two.

Still doing the job I need to do in between. I still dont know what I'll be doing after that, but we'll see.

And ZHP is strategy! lol, going to take a break of that though and dive into some more... sophisticated strategy games ;)

Better than 3 for sure. Sully telling me how to figure out puzzles was horrible. Really loved GA ,was sad when I hit platinum.

I'll have to delete dokuro or LBP (havent finished any yet) in order to be in time for the lets play, damn you Toma!

I'm wondering what games are going to go on sale and on PSN+ the 31st.

Not really sure what I want to go on sale since I know P4G and Technika Tune won't.

Mortal Kombat is really fucking good.

I am not even a fighting game guy but I really dig it.

And I am really liking Uncharted GA. Like many have said it feels like Uncharted 1.5.

A uncharted 1 style story with a little bit of Uncharted 2's style thrown in. Thats great. I would actually say I have been enjoying it more then I enjoyed Uncharted 3 outside of the tacked on tilt / touch screen / back touch bits.

Not sure if its because of the vita or just a derision by the developers but I like it isnt full of stupid exploding set pieces every 20 minutes like U3.

MK is a genius reboot and very fun on Vita. It is a great redo by the Netherrealm team!

So, I have a 32GB card coming in tomorrow. What do I have to do to backup or transfer over my saved games and installed games onto the new card? Do I have to back up to Windows, or can I do this using just the PS3? What, if anything, do I need to download or do?

ZHP is a roguelike. I'm personally not a fan, hence why my interest in it died the moment I was told that.

You can use a PC or your PS3 and do full backup

on PC download Sony Content Manager Assistant

backup process is slow as a turtle on superglue but that "normal".

Motorstorm RC on IOS? Blegh

Sure you could still make it competitive, but that would be downgrading it and removing any fine controls. How would you incorporate feathering the throttle and stuff like varying degrees of steer and Accel at the same time? It would just turn the game into a piece of shit.

Same reason I have zero interest in racers on Wii U. Those hampered triggers

And Roguelikes are very strategic games!

ATTENTION ALL NEW VITA OWNERS

ignore toto pls
I actually don't think 5 out of 10 Totos needs to be ignored completely. His recommendations are pretty solid, I've never seen him recommending some total trash games. However, his criticism should definitely be ignored. The GAF "everything is either shit or gold" syndrome is strong in him, so any time a game has some flaws, it's automatically some unplayable pile of shit, according to Toto.

I was joking that by strategy games Toma 'could have only meant' ZHP. I love ZHP.

It is something of a roguelike and understandably not for everyone.

Considering I played ZHP for about 15-20 hours in the last week, that was a good guess as well :P
Not too sure how to progress atm, the level 4 boss is super hard, and I cant beat the random boss enemies level 25+ in the extra dungeon.

Gotta grind more I guess!

Been having the same problem. I think my total level is sitting around 210 right now, but every time I get some decent gear I don't have the money to insure it .. then I die. Great, great game though.

I dont care about gear at all since it needs to be repaired anyway. Usually I just pick up decent helmets/weapons I find in dungeons without going the extra mile of having PERFECTLY optimized equip. Seems to work for me atm though, I can punch through the boss in level 4 without any weapon, haha. Augmentations for more inventory space are crucial though to keep some nice items. I think I am level 350 atm or something.

I shouldn't get attached to items in ZHP but I always do and feel guilty if I have to use an alternative.

Well, at least until something better comes along~

You guys know you
have to move the mirrors in order to destroy Geo's shield right?
If you're just having trouble with the enemies, than
a good way to get rid of numerous enemies is to use an item called the Golden Hammer. It creates barriers from barrier stones which you can throw in specific places and whatever enemy falls within the barrier stones' radius can either be healed or dealt damage.
This was one of the only times I used it in the whole game, the other being the last boss in the final dungeon.

EDIT: Oh, nevermind; looks like you beat him already. :P

I dont think I agree.
I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with. Your previous post suggested that RC wouldn't be viable as an iOS game because of the controls (and the impact it has on the high score chasing aspect for example) - but if you isolate the iOS game from the Vita game (which you would) then there's nothing to stop it from being fun within its own ecosystem. Sure, the times would be much better on the Vita - but those playing on iOS wouldn't care.

Same argument as the KBM against controller for FPS really. One is clearly better (in terms of functionality, personal preferences aside), but it doesn't mean the other isn't viable.

The difference being that controllers don't make FPS games completely unplayable (every FPS ever could be played with a controller without any problems or needing to change anything), whereas touch screen controls in a game like Motorstorm RC (which needs quick yet precise motions) would simply make the game impossible to play as it is.

Going to NYC in a couple days, going to be a long bus ride (at least 8 hours). Picked up Metal Gear Collection for the ride, but I think I need something else.

1. Is Unit 13 worth the $13 sale price?
2. How about the DLC for Gravity Rush? Worth the $12 for all of them?

Hell yes. Personally, it's probably my 3rd person shooter of the year.

Depends. Did you enjoy the challenges in the vanilla game? If yes, then DLC will offer a few more of them + they give Kat a few new outfits + there are short storymissions in them as well.

Platinumed Gravity Rush+all DLC, got all trophies in Mutant Blobs and did 100% run of Crash 1 (man the game was shorter than I remembered). All this and more in just a few days, couldn't be happier with the purchase but then again I loved PSP already and Vita is pretty much a ''super PSP''. Not bad at all concidering I have owned PS3 from 2008 and only have 2 platinums from PS3 games. I'll be getting PSASBR Vita platinum too since it's so easy. Just have to suffer thru the arcade mode 15 more times :(.

I spent some time in Big Sky Infinite and it's ok. I doubt I'll get all the trophies for now cause I'm a little burned out on space shooters. Next to do is fire up Uncharted GA+Tomb Raider+Crash 2.

BTW do we have a real release date for P4G EU and is it handeled by the same monkeys that are still stuck bringin P4A over here? I have no intrest with the fighting game but I'd rather get P4G before 2014...

Also where the fuck is Book of Shadows? It was supposed to release this year!

Battery life. No ones is lasting this long, right? Or is mine a faulty? I usually get 3-4 of gaming/surfing...

For arcade mode do I have to play in all-stars mode?

And Napalm have you stopped playing? Kinda feel indifferent about it now...

I certainly haven't stopped playing. I got both black belts again and I'll do it again for next season. I love the online play, it's just the arcade mode that frustrates me (damn my OCD with trophies!)

It doesn't matter what difficulty you play. It just takes too long per character and the first few timed matches are boooring.

About to push the button on Unit 13 but I have a VERY good feeling it's going to be a PS+ title soon. :p

Vita online for me is pretty bad

I been playing all-stars mode for this whole time...

Only in Europe, probably.
The EU announce for IGC on Vita had Unit 13 listed.
So yes, if you have an EU account w/ PS+, it's probably better to not buy it on sale in the NA store.

Nope, Canadian here. It's the fact that DL codes for Unit 13 are being bundled with systems here make me suspicious.

Works fine with me. I use the same wireless on PS3+PSV.

I find online works fine for me whether on Vita or PS3. Those arcades are a drag though. Wasn't so bad on Vita since I did it while at work. It was on PS3 where I'm finding it a real chore. Only got 6 characters left though!

It was totally ok the first time on PS3 since it introduced the character playstyle and the characters are so different and you could even try out some short impro combos. Rival scenes while very short and barebones were amusing too. The second round on Vita tho, ugh...

Is Uncharted GA platinum hard compared to say, Gravity Rush? At least it needs 2 playthroughs like the others it seems.

Given the absolute shit that we've gotten in December and what's next up, I'm not thinking you'll be getting it on plus.
Besides, if they made the comments about Rayman and LBP not being added to plus in the near future because of the sale, I think you can extend the same to HSG/MGS/Unit 13.

Besides, the game is easily worth $13. Support the (dead) devs!

Yeah they were kind of amusing the first time. Liked Big Daddy/Sackboy and Jak/Ratchet the best. But they shouldn't have made you do the arcade again on both versions since it's part of your save data/completion thingy. The online stuff is fair enough, and fun too!

Uncharted is quite long compared to Gravity Rush, not necessarily hard. GR took me about 15 hours including all DLC. Can't remember how long exactly it waw for Uncharted, but it was quite a bit more. It's not hard. If you have completed Crushing on any of the PS3 games, then this will be easy since it's the least difficult one yet. It's just grinding for the bounty drops takes ages. However I do believe they've patched it to make it easier now with more common drops
