For my own safety, I have decided to avoid the gaming side for the most part. It's pretty damn toxic at times, and it's going to be difficult to bite my tongue even more when folks are counting screenshot particles under their magnifying glasses in order to discern how "awesome" a new system is. (Plus - and this is key - I find that I'm enjoying games much more when I know next to nothing about them.) But I will return when/if certain major events occur in the future. Oh yes. :)

And Greg and I took Mom to see Les Mis two days ago. Mom sighed when Greg mentioned that the last time he saw it was when he was stationed in Germany and went to Paris for one weekend. Mom's been excited since we moved back: Dad and sis don't care for musicals, so she's giddy that she now has two nice dates to take her to shows. I've never been big on it (didn't care for the four-minute long shots of the actors just standing there singing), but it was pretty good; they loved it.

I post less (not that I necessarily fall into any of those categories) nowadays because of this. For every well reasoned discussion going on, there's another ten threads filled with nothing but junk. It could just be a generational turn over, and I'm only projecting this out onto the forum because I see less and less of the posters I really enjoyed engaging with back in the day.

In any case, most of my posts are community based these days. I'm not especially interested in trying to wade through the walls of sound on the gaming forum that comes with giant threads full of people trying to out-controversial the other just to be heard.
 
It does seem Nintendo brings out the worst in people in discussions, so when a new Nintendo system is released, shit really hits the fan somehow... Gaming-side can be pretty ugly sometimes. Still, I love videogames so I can't help reading topics over there. But sometimes I do have to keep calm when somebody tries to stir iup shit with useless comments :)

Same here. I used to extensively read about every game that I was interested in and I would watch every piece of media there was for it. In the end, it would always damper my enjoyment of the product so I decided to stop doing that this gen. I only occasionally check the gaming side (mainly for news) now and I've been much better off because of it.

omg Kaijima is on our side! I never imagined though, but you are one of my favorite posters.

All my favorite posters are gay now that I think about it? this is so odd, Mumei, Gaborn ( :( ) and now Kaijima.

Keep up the good fight! well it is an expression, there's no fight to be had, but even if not many reply I'm sure your posts always are read by some even when we don't reply, usually is because there is nothing else to be said, and "." replies are terrible.

I don't mind Gaming Side, it can be nasty but you learn to deal with it because there is always someone wanting to have a decent discussion, even if they sometimes feel drowned.
 
You guys have a point, I deliberately avoided all Sticker Star media and reviews/impressions except for a couple of screens and trailers, it was incredibly refreshing. Sadly I don't trust all developers like I blindly trust Intelligent Systems.

It's interesting. I always get the impression people despise Nintendo on the gaming side yet they cant help talking about them. It seems to be the Nintendo topics that go on forever in circles. I guess it will get worst when MS/Sony come out and start having their fanboys fight each other over specs.

I was told in two dates this week that I wasn't normal, because I wasn't doing drugs. I don't know how to react to this as I've been depressed for a while now.

Yes, it's like neverending reïncarnation on gamingforums. Then again, sometiomes it makes for an interesting, heated discussion, but most of the time it just insulting each other :(

I also echo the sentiment earlier in this thread, ignorance is really bliss when it comes to games. Discussing them to death before they are even released is a good way of killing any interest in the game. At least it is with me. Except when it is MegaTen-related, I can never have enough MegaTen hehe :)

I used to like that kind of men but ever since I realized they stink of cigars, poppers and whatever they absolutely have to take to have fun, I don't care for people in leather.

I hate poppers more than anything.

Yeah well my ex wasn't doing any drugs. But I really find it difficult to find someone nowadays. Good thing you mention poppers, I get so many headaches from them, I don't even get why its legal anyways.

but people say it's better to relax and perform better as a bottom... so I gave them a break but no more, kissing a guy that stinks like a cocktail of hospital alcohol and a thousand medications? fuck no, no need for that.
 
I once watched a porno where the guy just stops moaning and takes a hugeee whiff of poppers before the top could go on. I was pretty taken out of the scene at that point. ( Not as funny as a guy getting fucked and stopping to tell the camera man he needed to go pee..yes it happened off screen)

I never found that to be true (perform better). Even once I bled even more because my ass was too dilated from the poppers. I never bought any for myself, it was in the sling or something and the guy made me sniff it.
