;_; I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I hate my job and all the people phoning up because the phone and broadband the Post Office provides is terrible.

I just want to stay home and play my videogames and my pokemans ;_;

It is flu season afterall... just sayin.

I can used to partake but inside of naked cakes and machetes, but spelling rhubarb released catnip up Judge Rienholt's nose expanding upon sugar lumps.

I know! Cheese has holes. The more cheese you have, the more holes you have. The more holes you have, the less cheese you have. The more cheese you have, the less cheese you have!

Yay.

Me too :(

I've never actually gotten a PM before, but I guess it's cause I've never posted anything that warrants one.

Oh, here's something dumb I did today. I spent a few hours in Photoshop today making a PS4 UI mock up. Why? For no damn reason:

HURRY UP NEXT GEN

Last Guardian PS4? Nice stealthy troll. ;)

Talking about violence and video games FRIKING darksouls that game trolls me to oblivion i suck at it.
lol Dark Souls ain't shit

Now Winnie the Pooh Home Run Derby...*shudder*
What really gets to me in the "violent videogames lead to violence" debate is the fact that the strongest evidence people making that argument have comes from studies showing that playing videogames leads to short-term increases in the incidence of aggressive behaviors (arousal; not that kind you perv)- an effect which is stastistically higher to a small extent in children under 10 and males.

The hilarious part is that an identical effect is produced (a statistically insignificant difference in the degree) by playing non-violent videogames, which just demonstrates once and for all that none of these studies were conducted by people who know anything about videogames in the first place (and sadly, that many of them were agenda-driven to begin with).

I've read a lot of research, and I've never seen a single study that pays or calls attention to the difficulty of the games being studied. Long-time gamers probably already see where I'm going with this, but...

Compare two experimental groups, one playing My Little Pony: Dreams are Great (or whatever) and one playing the hardest challenge level from Kuru Kuru Kururin over and over again. Neither game is violent or anywhere close. Guesses as to which group would show a more marked increase in short-term aggressive behavior?

Limit the study to the original Castlevania on NES with no save states and I bet it'll spike too. Hell limit the study to me playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent (in which you have no weapons) and you'd have to conclude that videogames lead to panicked frightened punching of monitors in the dark.

That's the empirically hliarious part. Anecdotally, the funniest thing about the whole debate is that no game, with any level of gore, with any level of sophisticated, user-controlled violence, with any level of killing-based reward, has ever produced a larger increase in short-term aggressive behavior than the 1934 board game known as Monopoly. I have seen best friends and siblings literally throw the game board out a window and overturn tables and chairs as a result of three-hour games of Monopoly.

Why arent you in real pic january? Were you doing it but got so many creepy messages you changed your mind?

To be honest I was sort of hesitating in participating too. Not because of creep PMs mind you, but presenting your face and losing your anonymity is sort of a vulnerable feeling.

Yeah, since I quit drinking (52 days strong!) I've noticed I go out with my friends a hell of a lot less, not because I don't want the temptation (willpower!) but because drunk people are just not very fun to be around.

I went through all of my life except for the last year or so being a teetotaler.
Now that I do occasionally drink I find it very, well, strange.

I never went through the whole college thing of drinking til you pass out. Or even partying til your drunk. I'll have like A beer, or A glass of wine and that's it. On occasion I'll have a few glasses of wine (like 2 or 3) but that's it. I've never really hung out with the point to be drunk. So when I hear about people that have serious issues with it I just don't relate because it's just such a foreign idea. The closest I ever got to being drunk was a few months ago when I went to teach a class in Houston, TX and severely underestimated the size of their drinks. I was at the hotel and asked for some rum, expecting a lot of ice and a smallish sized glass. Got it and found a medium sized glass with a little ice. Then I ordered dinner and asked for a nice glass of a chard to go with it. Again expecting the wine glass to be about a 1/4 full. They come back with it filled practically to the brim.

After dinner I crawled back to my room reminding myself to remember that Texans take their alcohol seriously.

Wall-quote GO!

I fortunately don't have bags, but still good lighting is essential. :o Especially the older you get, it can't be helped. D:

I had to go into public bathrooms today. That lighting can be quite a blow to the self-esteem.

How do you avoid the bags??? :( Even when I do get 2+ nights in a row of actual sleep I just look worse. When I smile properly now I get the little pouches under my eyes.

But I hear you on public bathrooms and proper lighting. I've gotten used to looking like roadkill in the office building toilets.

Could have just said party. Booze is implied.

Although I recently heard from someone that's having his wedding party and is not serving any alcoholic drink, because they both don't drink and I guess that means nobody is allowed to. Or something.

True, but I think he's hoping for something a little more formal. That said, it'll probably be 10% 'ceremony', 90% party.

Shame for your friend's(?) wedding party. Even if I didn't drink, I know others do, so I'd have that option, but maybe they have more personal reasons for not offering it?

I might me a bit weird, but i have a thing for women who have a bit of bags under their eyes.
No idea why, but i think it's super hot.

Tired = hot? Sweet!

You should invite GAF. All of it.

...No?

On the guitar front, I only have 3 electrics, and that's pretty much just because one is broken and I don't really like the other one.

All of gaf? Haha. I'd have to rent out the Staples Center or something equally large to accommodate us all. I fully expect there to be a Gaf convention one day we're so numerous.

Wedding in NYC pls ;)

It might be on that coast if we end up living in Aus... :D

Wedding in The Netherlands pls

yeah I know that doesn't make sense :P

Haha. Be a helluva hike. I do hear good things about that place, though. ;)

Oh that's nice to hear. Good luck! :p

Maybe you should move to Europe or something. That way both families are equally far apart.

Thanks, LB! As for EU, we had considered England because he has dual citizenship, but we plan on having kids and having family support during that time is kind of important, so it'll have to be the US or Aus. I do love the UK, though. :(

Hey you.

Obviously.

Hola. Can't post as much as I used to, but RP is good people, so I thought I'd drop in again. ^_^

I've gotten creepy PMs over normal pics in the post pics of yourself thread, and RPJ isn't really being all that widespread for me to feel weird by having a normal avatar yet.
Now I'm curious..
