I kinda wish the box art for Pokemon games features evolved Starter Pokemon like the original games. I don't like the legendary ones as much for some reason.

When there was nothing but those games, they were interesting. Now they still are, maybe not just as relevant, but they did the groundwork for everthing that came there after.

haha, I think you missed some context there, I was just referring to the titles, not the games themselves! :P

Also: THAT OFFICIAL ART

The creature designs in Pokemon are like a drug or something. Now we have five wonderful new creatures, all incredibly well-designed, and I feel very complete in one sense, riding a creative high... But I want more. It drives one batty to think that, somewhere in Japan (maybe even America, due to simultaneous localization), there is a hard drive with even MORE Pokemon... *drools*

ALSO, NEW PAGE: A reminder -- Sugimori art is out for the two legendaries, but can't be posted here since they're scans. Check the usual suspects to see them. Both look AMAZING.
Dem antlers.

I'm shocked to see how much attention this is getting. Especially with fan arts. They're coming out of fucking walls, I've never seen such a massive amount in, what, 3 days after announcement? Worldwide release + 3D are really driving hype high. Heck, I've almost never played a Pokémon game, besides Platinum, and I'm hyped for this. :lol
Yeah, hype for this game is insane. Side note: the timing here is a lot like RE6 -- announcement and first trailer in January, and worldwide release in October. (RE6 is awesome once you learn it, btw)

I'm hoping that, with the game hitting all territories simultaneously, we'll get more leaks, since people on both sides of the pond will be working on the game, exposed to the game, previewing and reviewing the game, all at the same time.

Of course, there will surely be Pokemon that stay hidden until the very end -- and everyone playing the game and discovering them together will be amazing.

Is it on niconico? I'm going to assume that's the only reason US is higher.

That or this explains the worldwide release.

ugh this announcement has gotten me so stoked. i think i'm actually going to play through my copy of black 2 now. i only played it for a couple hours before moving to nfs mw at its release.

Like in Bothany classification? Never heard about it and I work with medicinal plants research.

A taxus is a type of yew, with needle-like leaves and little red fruit. It's a quite common tree, so it's strange you never heard of it.

But the reason that it's more likely to be a taxus is that a taxus is evergreen, where an ash loses his leaves in the winter. Taxi are also long lived and can grow quite large, given enough time. Yggdrasil being an ash is a mistranslation from old Norse, but this misconception is quite grown in in lots of people.

So Professor Yew then? It's also France's national tree apparently.

Seems more likely to me. The only reason why they wouldn't use that is that yew, although pronounced differently, is too similar to jew. Lots of small kids may confuse that and think the professor is a jew. Not that there's anything wrong with that for me, but still.

Didn't notice this: for Gen VI, they basically 3D-fied the Gen III / IV logo, changing the "Pokémon" label. And the DNA thing.

Always been a fan, uh? ;)

Thought it was taxon. Yggdrasil can be said to be ash or yew.
