Ex-Burnout devs, "Wreckreation" coming October 28th to Steam/PS5/XBox

I'd be interested if it was a curated open world playground. Not a fan of the DIY busywork.

Me either. At all. Reminds me of GTA floating racetracks. I didn't really like those either. But it's nice to see some different biome types in there, saw some trees and snow. Maybe someone will make something sort of natural looking.

Hopefully it's better than all the other "ex-Burnout devs try to recapture the magic of Burnout" games that have come before it, but like those titles, it looks rather spartan.

Yeah it's immersion breaking and too goofy for my tastes.

Will keep an eye of this though. If you can ignore the gimmicks and have some good Burnout races I'm in.

Do we know if this is EA or full release?

+Good sense of speed
+Unlock licenses for more cars and good selection of cars
+Billboards and other activities are fun sometimes
+Online mode is quite fun
+Handling is solid
+The trackmania style tracks are good
+Has leaderboards for everything
+Can control weather and ToD

-Single player not a big priority
-Map too big, kind of boring
-Road rage mode feels real bad
-Wrecks lack impact with certain hard objects for whatever reason, and just not great in general, not bad though.
-No crash mode!
-Would have been great to have crash mode in the multiplayer online with all the object placements you can do

It seems..ok? $40 though, probably pick it up on a sale.

Goodbye GIF

So Just buy wreckfest or even gta v do It better.

On discord the devs said they are looking into adding crash mode later.

I tend to only play these types of games when they're portable, so I'm hoping a Switch 2 version is still coming, but it seems fun even if it is a bit budget.

What was that game that Burnout developers made a few years ago made that arrived with a flat tire?
That game was very meh. It was so meh I honestly can't remember the name.

Honesty it seems pretty fun, I'm definitely buying on a sale. $40 isn't bad or anything but AC Rally is right around the corner for me.

Also it looks like stutter city from all the videos I've seen.

Wreckreation is OUT NOW on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S!

Drive, Build, Destroy - Your World, Your Rule!
Build the tracks of your dreams... or nightmares and tear through them alone or with friends.
Wreckreation hands you the keys to your very own driving and building open world!

Looks FUN, which isn't a word I'd use to describe most modern games. I loved Burnout Takedown back in the day, this looks good.
Absolutely. Not surprised to read through this thread and see GAF mostly defaulting to grumbling and misery, lol.

Me & my son feasting over the school holiday, $40/£30-35 is bang on.

I'm really liking it so far, but yeah there are a couple of problems with it wich will hopefully be adressed in a future patch.

-Road Rage, one of my favourite modes in classic Burnout, is broken because there are too few cars. You sometimes have to drive for miles and miles before encountering any cars and by then the timer's up.

-Cars just stopping in the middle of a race, feels like cheese win.

-At night time the game's pretty ugly. Would benefit from some neon bloom, light tracking or some other lighting effects. Daytime looks really nice though.

-Was really hoping for a crash mode...

-Only two camera placements, front or back view. The back view took me some getting used to because you start right behind the car and the distance grows bigger the faster you go. At top speeds the car is too far IMO. This often makes it hard to judge if you're lined up well enough to another car in order to bump it.

That said I'm liking it way more than Burnout Paradise, even if the difference in budget really shows. With some polish this could be a real gem for Burnout fans.

Second patch is out, Road Rage is fixed ✌️ Among other things...

Are these patches across all platforms?

I'm not interested in driving cars on a Rollercoaster because you don't have the budget to create realistic world race tracks.

You are Burnout, not F-Zero or Wipeout.

Only played Burnout Paradise and other NfS games that had the same structure. Split Second might come close too. Not really my preferred style of racing. If crashes are an important thing Flatout or Wreckfest were always more fun for me.

Wreckreation reviewed by Luke Reilly on PC. Also available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Overflowing with ambition but ultimately plain and with no style to call its own, Wreckreation feels like a supermarket brand homage to a series of better arcade racers, built with the user-generated content tools of another game. While slamming into my opponents rewarded me with snapshots of an arcade racer that's fast and engaging for seconds at a time, any buzz I gleaned was quickly snuffed out by unpredictable handling, a dull open-world map, samey event structure, and an assortment of annoying design choices and bugs.

A roadmap for patches? How about releasing a game once it's feature complete and not fucked at launch? Did they NEED to release this when they did?

To be fair it is a 40 dollar game made by litterally 10 people. I for one am happy to see the game finally released (issues included) and it's only going to get better.

Jesus the developers are incompetent these days. Why the hell is this again an open world racer??

From the reviews most people say the open world is boring and empty.

Why can't they design normal tracks like they did in Burnout 1/2/3???🖕🖕

I wanted a sequel to Burnout so badly that I even bought the terrible two games that came before it from this studio. Now I'm passing. It's just not worth it anymore.
