I don't understand how you like Blue, but dislike Pinkerton. Pinkerton is easily the best thing they ever did.

I guess around the people I knew, the Blue Album was considered the best Weezer album. Pinkerton was kind of dismissed when it came out but was sort of rediscovered when true emo started becoming popular on college radio. I don't dislike Pinkerton or the Green album at all, but to me the Blue Album is just a classic.

Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort

Their other two albums are pretty good, but they don't even come close to V:C, which I consider one of the best albums of the 00s. It deserves way more recognition than it gets.

which part? i do think de-loused in the comatorium is one of the greatest (25? def top 50) albums of all time, and i do think their follow ups never recaptured what made the first so good

I really like Cowboys From Hell from Pantera. The rest of their stuff sounds more like modern metal trash but I was almost convinced that if metal was going to sound like that going forward then maybe I could get over the 80s stuff dying out.

Urge Overkill and a Flock of Seagulls are excellent picks. The Cars debut album is wrong because Candy O and Heartbeat City are arguably better. Deltron doesn't really count because it's a one-shot deal (until the rumored second album actually comes out).

I prefer the remarkable albums that the rest of the band's catalog didn't suggest they were capable of. One of my favorites is Dust by the Screaming Trees. Such an awesome album that is head and shoulders above anything else they did.

My favorite album of the 2000's... and I pretty much avoid the rest of their catalog.

This record is meant to be played start to finish. The songs by themselves don't really stand out, but as a record? It's fucking awesome. It's got a one of a kind sound, too. Even Cursive couldn't replicate it, lol.
