My favourite posters on GAF are often those able to convey their opinion clearly and concisely. It's not even necessarily agreeing with their views, I just appreciate a well worded post.

In this thread, we acknowledge those members who intrigue, engage, and entertain through their posts. Here's a few of mine:

Orayn

An incredibly eloquent poster, and keeps things concise. I usually agree with what he has to say too.

Zaptruder

A really intelligent poster. Blows my mind explaining physics and such.

Stumpokapow

Comes in a thread and drops truth bombs with reliable accuracy.

StuBurns

Simply articulates his thoughts well. Even if I don't agree, I can usually appreciate his POV.

Lionel Mandrake

Has a great command of English. I love reading his recaps!

Post your choices, and try and give a quick explanation.

Opiate. I don't have a comment but each post of him I read is well thought out and structured.

I like Pigeon, Null Pointer, black mamba, cyan, Empty Vessel, Hitokage, rdreamer, mumei, stumpakapow, and Sanky Panky. There's some other mods too but they don't really post anymore.

I think pigeon is the most underrated smart poster at the moment.

I also think way too many robots are going to be named in this thread.

Opiate, Stumpokapow, EviLore, Aena, Nirolak, Eaty - basically everybody with a red name is extremely eloquent

Also: ShockingAlberto, Kaijima , Orayn, Blizzard, Why would you do that?, Durante, SmokyDave and some others

Let's not confuse verbosity with eloquence.

Reaaallll taaaaalkkk. Some mods (except Bish of course) have a knack for writing paragraphs of shit when a simple "lol wut" or "nah son" or "thisisneogaf.com" would suffice. I think they think they have to act smart.. >.>;

Jipan.

English is his second language and his write ups in every NYC-GAF meetup thread are the definition of mastering the English language. As someone said during the most recent meetup, "It's some Mark Twain kind of shit."

Stumpokapow and ThoseDeafMutes are two posters I always like to read more of, because they have really great perspectives on the discussion at hand, and are good at articulating them. I also value Derrick01's opinion on games, and I think Durante is always the poster I'm looking for in technical threads.

This is about eloquence. "lol wut" or "nah son" ain't eloquent.

All joking aside, I enjoy posters that break down threads quickly and succintly much more than people who write sentence after sentence, no matter how well constructed those sentences are. If they throw a little wit in there, even better. Gaf is such an informal forum that when people get wordy for simple points it's hard not to gloss over it (debates with cited facts excluded). You can be eloquent and brief at the same time. =P

I had to strain for an example cause I don't really pay attention to poster names but I think Ronito fits that mold. He's sharp in the confessions thread.

I know how you feel op. My 13 year old cousin was in love with me. I knew that because my family was teasing me because they saw her crying with a photo of me because she had not seen me in a week and later cause she told me. I was 22 at the time, just out of a relationship and depressed. At a new years eve i was alone in the balcony, sort of drunk with tears in my eyes then all of suddenly she kissed me and I kissed her back. We started feeling each other up but suddenly we heard someone coming. It wasnt her it was my aunt. We stopped. My cousin always visits us once a week so for the following months we would sneak around to make out and I teached her how to pleasure me. I always asked her if she wanted to do this and she said yes. It took a while for her to let me eat her too. We were happy just being with one another.

One day I came to a realization that this was wrong. I explained to her how much I loved her but that I was her cousin and she was a beautiful girl that should have a boyfriend outside her family. She cried and said she wouldnt go away so I started being distant with her. She texted me constantly, began cutting herself and began fighting because she thought I had found someone else. I saw how much it was bothering her so I began to be closer to her as a friend. She began to hate me. Everytime I went to talk to her she wouldnt respond like she was erasing me from existence. I thought she had found someone else and even though it made me feel angry It was for the greater good. Believe me when I say the air is not right between us ever since. I am a piece of shit. I fucked up her life. All because I am weak.

Doesn't get more eloquent than this.

GAF is becoming much less of an informal forum.

The Ashodin thread is proof that it's not, even if we try to sweep shit under the rug. In all honesty gaming side is where I usually feel the gap. OT ain't even that bad.

Ironically, the ADA served as an inspiration for the CRPD. Of course, that we rejected a treaty modeled on an American policy amplifies the embarrassment. It's not particularly surprising, though. The U.S. has a penchant for advocating human rights while rejecting international institutions that support them. And it's largely a function of cost. Because the benefits of the treaties are typically nominal, the domestic proponents lack the incentive to overcome the strident opposition who reflexively object to anything international. Ignoring the practical ramifications of our actions, our accession is inconsequential in determining the effectiveness of the treaty, it's acutely embarrassing. We look really stupid.

Adding another data point is not going to improve their model. Their model's based on only eight data points. They claim their sample is sufficient because they treat each state as a separate point. And that would be less problematic if they only employed state variables. However, they also include national data, so they effectively regressed seven explanatory variables on eight data points. Had they clustered their standard errors or included a mean national forecasting error, I surmise their specification would be vastly different. Additionally, they predicate their model on a few dubious assumptions.

So, fine, they wanted to test their neat regression. Surprise! It failed, so it's time to move on. Also, Gelman and King's prescription for constructing a valid forecast is apt; if your model lacks substantive justification, it's probably a bad idea.
Wet panties everywhere.

my favorite is far and away mama robotnik, behind him opiate and monocle, though most everyone listed in this thread has great command of the englishes.

just in terms of writing fluency ghst is amazing. also drohne but he doesn't post anymore. i don't even know how you can learn to write like them tbh. salazar occasionally flexes his hyper articulate muscles and fits in this category too.

more generally i like mumei and charlequin who are very efficient and clear, though there are plenty of good writers on gaf and also lots of smart people who aren't amazing at writing but still make excellent posts.

Eloquence, not through words but by animations and videos is unequivocally attained on a legendary level by SunhiLegend.

there aren't many people who write like poop butter here. lots of smarties on gaf.

tldr

Do you feel blame? Are you mad? Uh, do you feel like wolf kabob Roth vantage? Gefrannis booj pooch boo jujube; bear-ramage. Jigiji geeji geeja geeble Google. Begep flagaggle vaggle veditch-waggle bagga?
