Wait.. What? Those aren't scary.

Imagine encountering one of this.

Yes, I know it's extinct. But how cool would it be to actually see on in the flesh.

Hahahha Acid

I've always wanted an African penguin as a pet. A duck too, but I'm weird.

This penguin looks so boss to me.

Endless ocean? I haven't heard of it, but am suddenly super interested. Help me not do homework!

This one:

It helped me to not do homework all through law school! To be fair, much of that time was investigating/researching for my FAQ for the game. But even so, I'm only aware of a handful of people who have 100%ed even the obvious bits of the game - and each of us took over 400 hours to get there, and there's a bunch of stuff even I haven't touched to any degree. There's a couple of real diehards who have gone way further than I did.

It's a curious game. No death, no danger (but a fair bit of apprehension), obsessively accurate (hell, even the in-game mythology is accurate mythology according to feedback I've had from the islands around Palau).

Typically reviewers say "it's not for everyone" (for which read "it's not for me") - but the whole game is a love story to the ocean and it grabbed me like no other game ever.

I feel so bad for selling it. I enjoyed it too so I cant even remember why I did it :(

You should do. More than five years after release it is still selling for more than its launch price. Game got a lot of much-deserved love.

Plus, it was this thread that first brought GAF to my attention.

Went rock climbing for the first time with some friends yesterday and now I'm sore all over. I missed this feeling! I really need to carve out some time and start going to the gym regularly again.

I would stick with rock climbing or another outdoor activity. Gyms scare me.

Now you just want somebody to post a centipede Lis.

EDIT: And so it shall be. This is why you don't mention fears on the internet.

What I love about aquatic creatures is how some can look amazing and terrifying and others can look amazing and adorable.

I really want to get an axolotl, but I'd have to cool the tank somehow. My apartment's far too warm for one to survive comfortably (they need a constant temperature under 20 C).

Plus you'd have to buy one of those big, expensive tanks when it evolves into Marshtomp.

All this talk about sea creatures and no mention on the cymothoa exigua?

From Wikipedia:
Cymothoa exigua, or the tongue-eating louse, is a parasitic crustacean of the family Cymothoidae. This parasite enters fish through the gills, and then attaches itself at the base of the fish's tongue. The female attaches to the tongue and the male attaches on the gill arches beneath and behind the female. Females are 8–29 millimetres (0.3–1.1 in) long and 4–14 mm (0.16–0.55 in) in maximum width. Males are approximately 7.5–15 mm (0.3–0.6 in) long and 3–7 mm (0.12–0.28 in) wide. It extracts blood through the claws on its front, causing the tongue to atrophy from lack of blood. The parasite then replaces the fish's tongue by attaching its own body to the muscles of the tongue stub. The fish is able to use the parasite just like a normal tongue. It appears that the parasite does not cause any other damage to the host fish.Once C. exigua replaces the tongue, some feed on the host's blood and many others feed on fish mucus. This is the only known case of a parasite functionally replacing a host organ. There are many species of Cymothoa, but only C. exigua is known to consume and replace its host's tongue.

Link to a pic, maybe not for the squeamish.

Don't click this.

Nature is awesome!
