Varg Vikernes. Norwegian black metal guitarist/lyricist best known for the excellent Burzum. Also happens to be a racist neo-Nazi wacko. Back in the nineties he stabbed one of his band mates to death, did jail time, and recorded some more Burzum. Also may have burned down a church.

Like many others in the genre. There's actually a band, that bases all their works on LotR; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summoning_(band) I've never even read the book myself.
