I've been nearly killed so many times by nearly crashing on my bike by oggling boys on Lakeshore. On the plus side, getting passed by a hot shirtless guy also gives me the incentive to run faster just to keep watching him run.

I just watched Paris is Burning. I seem to remember it being mentioned in this thread before. It was pretty good. It provided a fascinating look into the "Ball/Voguing" culture during the late 80s.

Afterwards, I looked at the Wiki page and found out that almost all of the featured people in the film have since died due to AIDS related illnesses, some just a few years after the film came out. :/

yes, the documentary really is a snapshot of a moment in time. when i first saw it i was filled with a mixture of complete envy and fascination, it was incredibly inspiring. that along with the novel giovanni's room are two of the essential things i'd recommend for anybody who is struggling with their sexual identity.
