The color palette look exactly like 300. Over saturated, dark red, dark blue colors all over.

Also 300 beard.

There was no blue in 300. It was orange and dark red. Also you should know that you just mentioned the colors that are used to identify Superman. I don't think that's a negative.

You can't change my opinion. It's my opinion. There's nothing you can say to make me spend $10 to watch this in the theater.

There was a shitload of blue in 300, all the initial sequences were blue tinted.

One of the bluest blue things I've ever seen. Plus orange hair.

... It looks nothing like 300. The camera work, color grading, black levels, set design, realistic candid-approach versus painting-esque chiaroscuro, a lack of artificial gain or noise, higher black levels and thinner contrast... all substantially and irrefutably different.

Sorry you feel compelled to hate.

will we be getting another trailer any time soon? perhaps an ad during the superbowl?

I hope so, WB would be stupid not to have one but they've opted out some of the Superbowls in the past like no spot for The Dark Knight or TDKR.

Again though if they do it'll be a good week for MOS stuff since Toy Fair is a few days after the Superbowl and a lot of companies have the MOS license and have been slowly revealing their stuff, like Hot Toys' Jor-El 1/6th figure for example:

lol why even bother being in this thread then? just like to shit on movies you haven't seen or spread your Snyder hate?

Also it looks nothing like 300 at all, nothing.

No, the airplane scene was Incredibly Awesome. The movie was almost worth watching just for that one scene.

Pretty sure that scene was a leftover from the JJ Abrams script, wasn't it? Superman rescuing a plane with Lois on it, and touching it down in a baseball stadium.

Am I the only one annoyed that Lois goes flying around the plane before she eventually straps in, but doesn't even get hurt in the slightest after her body slams the top/side etc of plane. No head injury/broken bone... nothing lol It was just something that felt off to me, she's 100% fine once he touches down the plane(fainting not counted cause that was cause he returned and they had to cosplay Superman the movie again)

It's even the small things like this that just annoy me now.

So a user on the Man of Steel IMDB forum dumped a ton of spoilers for the film along with some PMs before they got pulled or deleted but I managed to get them. Some of it sounds credible and some of it sounds too good to be true and the source is one of those "my brother works for the production and saw a rough cut" kind of deals...but then again the first trailer description leaks came from IMDB too so who knows.

Anybody want a PM or should I just spoiler tag it and dump it here?

So MAJOR SPOILER info dump. Again could be legit or complete BS.
-Cut shown was 2 hours and 24 minutes.
All of Superman's powers are on full display, although no freeze breath was mentioned
-Krypton is destroyed
-Jor-El is not killed via Krypton's destruction but by Zod.
-Lois knows Clark's secret pretty early on in the movie
-Kryptonite is not used, but it has been discovered and is being studied
-Three main battles take place with the last being in Metropolis and a significant amount of the city is destroyed between the gravity ray that Zod uses on the city from Black Zero and the final battle with Superman and the robot space force
-Faora is killed, Zod is taken to the prison planet.. Now left for superman to manage (I guess it's where he will take future super villains) that's what's implied in the movie
-Lex is mentioned twice but never shown
-No cameos from other heroes
-Brainiac is mentioned but never shown
-Krypton is described as more of a futuristic city.. No ice crystals at all, although he said most of kryptons effects were unfinished
-There is a robot army that Zod brings to Earth. They were with him on the prison vessel Black Zero and he reprograms them to serve him. They were originally designed to be guards on the prison planet (phantom zone) where Zod was being taken.
-I believe my brother said there were around 30 or so with one being bigger and stronger than the others.. I guess like the lead robot. When it's destroyed by superman zod takes the armor and designs a suit with it to aid him in battle with superman

-He claims Shannon's zod is probably going to end up being one of the greatest movie villains on screen. He says that he's amazingly well written and Shannon gives the best performance of the movie, and he has just as much screen time as Cavill
-Cavill looks really good in the suit.. He's a massive presence on screen and he looks like superman straight out of a comic book
-The colors look different on the suit than what we've seen.. I'm not sure if its cgi enhanced or just the lighting, but its a lot brighter and vibrant looking in the actual movie footage
-Zod wears a similar suit but basically all black.. He does have a cape when he's first shown wearing his suit, but mostly he's shown without it
-The quick shot of superman flying down the building towards zod to do battle that you see in the trailer is from the final fight scene and there's an epic collision that shatters windows and shakes buildings when that clash
-He used the words epic every time he described an action sequence
-The movie goes pretty deep into trying to understand how it would go if these aliens just showed up one day out of nowhere
-There is definitely a Nolan feel to the movie
-The military plays a large role in the movie.. There is experiments going on behind the scenes
-Metallo is never mentioned or shown but there is a scene with an injured airforce pilot where they talk about using him for a secret project and the kryptonite is mentioned, although never referred to as such, it's called the meteorite

-The budget was initially 185 million but later increased to 215 after Snyder showed higher ups his quick story boards ideas of some of the action sequences he had planned for the film. It was later increased to 235 million to account for extra cgi cost and the added 3D.
-The movie is more massive than you can imagine with huge sets built and amazingly shot action sequences. Snyder makes great use of every penny in the budget. The only thing he can compare this to is the action in the avengers, although he claims this is better shot and feels more real.
-The original script only had 2 main battles the third was added by Snyder himself.
-Jonathan kent dies, Clark is fully grown at the time, but not yet superman.
-Zod does not kill Jonathan, although in the original script he did. Zod does kill several military personal and civilians in the movie. The loss of life gravely effects superman.
-The robots, except for the main guard, are disposed of very easily.. If your expecting a huge scene with Sm fighting all these robots you will not get it. Their all taken care of at one time and very easily using his heat vision.
-He is called superman in the movie but not at first, he's called the alien originally. Lois is the first to call him superman and the name catches on.
-He learns of his origins in different ways. Jonathan is the first to tell him where he came from after his powers start to show up. After discovering his hidden ship Jonathan tells him more about his origins and gives him the key that was found with it. Clark also triggers a hologram message from Jor-el using the key that explains details about his home world.
-Later in the film after Clark opens up the fortress he talks with another hologram of jor-el and discovers the suit and how it works and the source of his powers on earth.
-Faora is killed by Zod.
-The prison planet is an actual planet. It's smaller though and described as something like a moon to another planet, although very far away from krypton itself.
-A scientific explanation is given for all supermans powers and it grounds this movie and makes it feel even more real, or as real as a movie about a super powered alien can be.
-There's a huge twist at the end of the movie

No way I'm spoiling myself and I hope it falls in the too good to be true category and it's true... we deserve it.

Other bit of info I forgot was that Snyder is apparently cutting a new trailer...Super Bowl spot??

Please let this be true... splooge if so.

yea could totally see them putting up a new trailer during the Super Bowl. Most likely more action in the spot.

Couldn't help myself and read. Sounds great.
Wonder what they mean by scientific explanation for the powers? Them being solar powered wasn't scientific enough?

On comparing 300 to Man of Steel...

"They will troll, they will stumble. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

Score talk from Zimmer....

"Hans Zimmer spoke briefly about his theme for "Man of Steel" during an interview conducted at the 2012 Festival Musique et Cinéma in Paris in October.

"You do what you think is appropriate to the movie. So that's why with 'Man of Steel' I'm going to try to do something different. I have a very long theme. [Laughs] If you try to reinvent something, some times for better or for worse, you have to go and make it your own. You can't use somebody else's great idea."

Interesting. Talks a little bit about his Batman theme before the 1:57 mark where he brings up Man of steel for a couple of mins.

Not sure why this hasn't been posted before and the interview was in Oct :\

I read the spoilers. For those that won't read them, be assured they do sound pretty fucking incredible. Also, one non-spoiler mentioned in them is that Michael Shannon's character is well-written and his performance is outstanding. Which I totally believe, as I loved him in Boardwalk Empire, and I absolutely believe he can make an incredibly badass villain.

"Spoilers" are most likely fake but I figured I'd post them since I thought somebody else would given they're now running on some sites. The guy says Snyder was working on a Super Bowl spot that would prove he wasn't BSing but it looks like Warner Bros. aren't buying any air time so the chances of a Man of Steel spot look slim to none. =/

Still looks like 300.

Look its that 300 guy floating in the water.

you can troll all you want Tino, you won't succeed.

is that you in your Avatar? you look like Oliver Queen.

The color palette look exactly like 300. Over saturated, dark red, dark blue colors all over.

Also 300 beard.

you fail. Kryptonian eyes you don't have.

You can't change my opinion. It's my opinion. There's nothing you can say to make me spend $10 to watch this in the theater.

it's 13 dollars now and i'll watch four times. two for me and two for you. and I will review it online for you.

if that came out as a full movie i'd watch it too.

No way I'm spoiling myself and I hope it falls in the too good to be true category and it's true... we deserve it.

it's just like that script that was leaked a while ago. it sounds..... really, really really promising. I hope, I think and I hope and I remain hopefully that it will deliver. this is what Zack Snyder needed. Watchmen was great... (only because he didn't stray far from the book) but with Superman he can do all the eye candy he wants.

I know somebody posted a "Superman shield over the ages" but this came across my Facebook feed today...(

Man, they just had to get that crazy assed Santa Superman by Rick Veitch in there. Ugh.

They didn't do the New 52 costume any favors, either. Which I'm fine with because it is fuck-ugly.
