God of War Ascension Thread of Singleplayer Demo Sharing/Giveaways

01) Is the whole rebuilding of the environments a new mechanic with Ascension?

02) Did somebody say this demo can be played in 3D? How? Cause I can't find the option with my HMZ-T1.

well cant download it, get signed out :S, also the new store app doesnt ehlp... takes too long to enter the damn thing, and one it loads, another guy already signed :S gonna try later

01) Yes

We also showcased our new Life Cycle mechanic. Kratos can use this new ability to control the flow of time on various objects in the environments to solve puzzles, and freeze enemies during combat

02) No, not in the demo. The retail version will support 3D though.
 
Ok so by now quite a few people should have this, so let's actually discuss the demo.

Combat is very fluid, more so than any other God of War game I've ever played. World weapons in the singleplayer is also quite fun to mix up the combat. Perhaps my favorite new addition is how you can tether one opponent and continue to attack other people with your other hand and then whip him around whenever you feel like it. Also pretty neat that you can use the heal on enemies during combat (L2+Square).

Now for some things I didn't like. The statue enemy first off, he's just not very fun to fight. It doesn't even feel like you attacks are doing anything to him, even the elephantaur reacts to your attacks. Also the climbing, you have to follow a very distinct path even if there are other places you could logically grab onto, feels extremely forced. And finally a big one, and this is really for the franchise as a whole, it shows you the solution to each puzzle before you even begin. It's just annoying. Like for the part where you need to use the heal the structure to advance, but only half way at first. Would be a pretty fun and quick puzzle, except as your healing it slows down like crazy to show you that you need to stop midway, and then zooms into the ledge on the other side to show you were to go, as if it wasn't already extremely obvious. I want GOW to stop holding my hand so darn much, is that too much to ask? Perhaps make it an option in the menus.

And finally something that I'm not too sure is suppose to be their or not. When you fill up your rage meter half way your attacks get stronger, then when you fill it completely you press L3+R3 to do a double tether for ultra damage, however after you do that your rage meter drops back done to empty. Makes no sense and not even worth it to do the double tether.
