So I had my three month review at my job yesterday and they said they were really happy with me :') And gave me a raise ($10.25 to $11, close to minimum wage but still, I've never worked for $11 before).

That was what had me nervous too lol. It's mainly a telephone job (and other tasks that happen throughout the day) so there's a lot of down time and I was really worried they'd be all "so the down time, WHY ARE YOU ON THE INTERNET".

In Asia, sure. Not sure for Australia, but if you want to teach locally in the US a Master's is a must. And they don't even pay very well.

edit: Also, I'd prefer to teach Japanese, but I was just reading an article about how one of our local high schools had to cut its language program from seven languages to three. Although I'm lucky that Japanese is still riding the popularity wave among teenagers so it isn't likely to be cut any time soon, it still seems more viable to go into ESL. Lots of people wanting to come to the US from other places to learn English, and so ESL is booming compared to other areas of language teaching.

I want to move to Australia now.
