Al Roker was screaming at Barack for attention. He acknowledged him, but kept walking. Al id the same when Biden came by. He said he wasn't allowed by the secret service detail, but eventually ran over to Al and shook his hand. For the rest of the parade Joe was hypey, walking backwards, waving and hugging kids in the crowd.

What's wrong with that? It's not wasted money, the government doing things gives people jobs and money that gets circulated by the economy when they buy goods and services. Money entering the economy doesn't sound wasteful to me.

My point being that when you just go through taking an extra 2% from everyone's pay, a giant celebration for a sitting president can be seen as a slap in the face to some.
