I love how Cryptic Command and Venser are moved to the front of everybody's virtual/physical binders now.

They're hot now? Why come? The latter is still dirt cheap on SCG.

I am confused.

Venser, Shaper Savant, not the PW. Venser sort of appears to be spec-related though. Price is coming back down.
Oh, him. Sorry, what do you mean by spec-related? Pls to educate.

I invested in some Hellriders back then thinking that they're going to go once Boros was revealed... I'm wondering whether they're going to go up after this weekend. Sorta want to sell them to help me afford a box of gatecrash.. what do you guys think?
He'll be tested heavily in the next few weeks. He can spike up to $20 depending on deck success, but people are talking about alternative options at the 4 that may be better. I don't see any harm in holding for the short term, but at the same time, if you bought in at a very low price point it's not a bad idea to move them at their current value. I have a playset+ to trade off and will attempt to unload this weekend for RTR shocks and maybe some modern stuff.

Hmm, Dimir really does look a bit weak here, but I'll try 'em out regardless. Then I'll go Simic and perhaps Gruul/Boros on Sunday. Should be good times. Hoping to open a few shocks and Lazav or a Seer.
I think Dimir looks fine for limited. Tons of evasive creatures.

He kinda zoomed up out of nowhere even though he's not being played. Exquisite blood went to 3-4 dollars overnight, but it was mostly from people buying up the copies out on the market for $.5 each, so it will come back down some.

Spec = Market Speculation.

Ah ok, gotcha. SCG/speculators manipulating prices again, I guess.

Couple things to check out if you want a rough estimate about what to expect for prerelease. Change first one to 5 packs as those are the only random ones we'll be getting.

Didn't know the guildpacks had been spoiled - thanks for that.

Question about this card:
If I've exiled cards with her and she leaves play for whatever reason, only to return sometime later in the game, will I be able to retrieve the cards originally exiled?

Answer:
No. "Bane-alley broker" refers to only that instance of that card.
Thanks!

I had a $50 gift card for newegg and saw that they had a Gatecrash Booster Box for $120. So I got a booster box for $70 with free shipping =)

I just realized that pretty much every Unexpected Results target in omnidoor is tops. The only bad thing you can hit is farseek. I'm going to test one - yeah, just one - out.

We got Borborygmos, Enter the Infinite (debatable), Aetherize, Unexpected Results (debatable, probably awful), Aurelia's Fury, Merciless Eviction, Simic Charm, and Mystic Genesis to play with now. I'm cautiously optimistic about this deck.

Oh, and Urban Evolution, which is pretty much incredible in here.

(Yes, I'm still trying to make this deck work, even though Boros's speed is likely to make it impossible to play. Aetherize and Terminus should help.)

Trying to work a trade of my ..well...trade book for a 360 since I ended up with a Street Fighter Anniversary Collection 360 version instead of the PS3 version which I asked for.

Here is the thread if anyone is interested in the lot http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=481280
Have you checked out FGC-GAF in trying to do a 1:1 swap? Someone over there (possibly with connections) might be able to help you work that out.

Not a bad idea, lol.
I ended up selling my last 360 set up to Jebailey for an event and now want another one lol.
Full circle? I think so.

Okay, lets say a creature has vigilance as well as an ability that they can tap to use (moonscarred werewolf) and this creature attacks. The opponent blocks with a creature. Now, can the attacker choose to then use the tap ability? If so, what happens? Does he not actually attack? Are the blockers still stuck on that attacker even if he isn't attacking because he's already tapped?

Tapping the creature does not remove it from combat.

From the Wizard Communit site:

Q: I want to tap a creature to keep it from blocking--when do I have to do that?
A: If you want a creature to be unable to block, you have to tap it before your opponent gets the chance to declare it as a blocker--after that, it's too late.

The last chance to tap a creature to keep it from blocking is during the Declare Attackers step, just before the Declare Blockers step begins. (Note that at that point you technically don't know for sure whether your opponent is going to block with that creature or not...though you may be able to make a fairly accurate guess if you're attacking with a massive creature that will kill him if he doesn't block.)

If your opponent is rushing things and goes ahead without allowing you a chance to do the things you want, you are perfectly justified in getting him to back up so you can do the things you want to--Magic is not supposed to be a game of reflexes. If you had your chance and wasted it, however, there's no turning back.

So I need some help gaf. My local shop is doing the whole prerelease thing with drafts, 2 headed giant etc. I was waiting till after all the spoilers had come in to choose a guild (I had planned on rolling dimir but just can't do it, seems to slow/cipher is overpriced). Called my local shop and Boros is of course sold out but everything else is open, with Gruul being the least preordered (I asked).

Given that the format is limited and the likelihood of facing many Boros decks what should I roll?
