Nintendo Directs do have a pattern of unveiling one new first-party game in most episodes. Maybe something new from EAD Tokyo!

As much as I think Nintendo's current approach to announcing games (or not announcing games, as it were) is insane, it is quite exciting when they do spring game announcements on us. The thought that they could announce an EAD Tokyo Wii U game in less than 24 hours, and it could potentially be in my hands by the summer, is incredible.

Now I just need to stop myself from getting my hopes up too high.

Too late!

As in people joining other people and simply helping them. I guess they could do that.
Well not really helping but co-op single player where you get limited amount of days in one area and try to get all of the parts in that one area.

No I am pretty sure it was confirmed to have local multiplayer in the past (like Pikmin 2). I definitely remember a thread about it at least where people were complaining that it was local instead of online.
I don't think they said anything about local MP, but getting that would be nice.

Actually, I posted it in the other thread, but I do think that a reveal of Monolith's Wii U project is reasonably likely. For one, they already mentioned it during one of the December NDs, which would be odd if they didn't plan to show it off any time soon, and Monolith have been working on it for 2 and a half years by now, so a release this summer in Japan makes sense, which would point to an unveiling around now.

Thats it! I'm riding the hype train!

MONOLITH SOFT'S NEW WII U PROJECT WILL BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW.

Don't do this to me...

I want to believe!

No idea what to expect really. Only thing that's for certain is release dates for already announced titles. Would love to see some Bayonetta 2 gameplay and release dates for W101, Game & Wario, and Pikmin 3.

And I doubt they'll reveal Retro's title today. I'm guess they plan on saving it and Smash Brothers for E3.

I have no expectations

I feel safe from my neutral throne on GAF mountain, frowning at the hype beneath me
Ha! as if you can control your hype. Fact of the matter is 90% of us are expecting disappointment. Doesn't hange the fact that We're all kinda excited despite any logical predictions.

Yep. Hopefully her re-tweet actually means something...

Junichi Masuda (director of all the core Pokemon games) tweeted the Pokemon Direct and it led to the epic Pokemon X / Y announcement.

The director of Xenoblade's wife would not be tweeting this event unless the director of Xenoblade was going to be featured through his new project.

Monolith as in Condemned and FEAR? Are they working on a Wii U exclusive?

No. That's Monolith Productions. Monolith Soft is a Japanese developer, under Nintendo's wing, who made Xenoblade.

*dies from hype*

Confirmed date for Pikmin 3 is about all the exciting news I'm expecting to come out of this. Any higher expectations than that probably wont end well. I'm all for being surprised though.

It's also on Nintendo's official Japanese website as "untitled Monolith" project.

Well, she also works at Monolith, and co-created some of his games, so I guess it might mean she's involved in this one? She wasn't involved in Xenoblade, but she was involved in all of Takahashi's previous games.

TIME TO THROW CAUTION TO THE WIND AND REV UP THOSE HYPE ENGINES

I'm really hoping they show something that sells me on the Wii U. I own every Nintendo system except the NES and Virtual Boy, and feels weird having no interest whatsoever if their current console. I know that will change for me eventually, but I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later.
