somehow, i really cant get warm with this game. i preordered xenoblade, because so many gamers appreciate with it, but the game was so boring for me. i managed to play for 30 hours, though. the battlesystem was ultra dull, the story was nothing special, i didnt like the music and the sidequests were really tiresome.
besides the mechs, this game doesn't look better.

So my question is, if this is not Xenoblade 2 why would they show nothing about the story of this game in the trailer except for the face of this character that looks just like an HD more mature Shulk? Seems to me if they were going to show a single screen of just one character they would make it someone people would know since there was no explanation about who this is.....

Guys, this isn't some kingdom hearts crap where this new character isn't actually Shulk, but a heartless twin version of himself born in an alternate universe sometime in the past.

It's Shulk, and this is Xenoblade.

Like many others, I'm sorta interested in getting Xenoblade after watching this trailer. Is it really story heavy like the other games in the Xeno franchise? Does it relate to the other games? Or refer to them subtly?

im thinking about playing it now too. 100+ hours is too much though. if you poop sock the main quest how long is it and is it possible to finish or is side quest grinding required?

if this new game is a sequel i hope they push up the colors. it's too brown and grey right now.

I'm interested in Xenoblade as well after this

quickly became uninterested after looking up some of the reseller prices online though

its definitely a solid 60 to 70 hours for a straight playthrough without aiming for 100%

It's Shulk, and this is Xenoblade.

It could just be his id archetype stuck in the collective unconsciousness imaginary number domain that isn't actually Shulk but Jesus himself.

Lol. Just makes me happy I decided to do a blind purchase for the game with my Wii. ;;

heh.

Guess I'll just take my chances hoping for a reprint.

or maybe I'll stumble across a copy to borrow in my travels who knows

I'm still a little shocked Monolith was able to pull off such great visuals with their first HD game. I mean I never doubted their art direction but technically it's really impressive for a studio which isn't really known for visual whichcraft (even though that's what Xenoblade was considering Wii's limitations).

Insane how fast the price inflated. Holy shit. Feels like its easier/cheaper to get at a con or something. Had to do that with Atelier Totori.

I'm pretty sure people have shat themselves over this gif all day in this topic already, but having seen it in the morning, gone out, come back, and seeing it again hours later, I just have to say this:

You can't look at that and NOT want to play this. It's fucking physically impossible.

Best part is that it's probably just one area, lol.

60 hours

Also to all those saying it's Shulk, I thouht so too originally, but Shulk dosen't have green eyes.

Hmmm... looks good. I'll play anything from MonolithSoft, though I do wish this was a new Baten Kaitos game instead.

I assume it is another Xenoblade, which is good, but... I wish they'd do something else for the battle system this time. The first game's battle system isn't awful, but it really isn't great, either :/

Well, he seems to have blue/greenish eyes in Xenoblade, not sure about this. Plus, to show him like this in this trailer wouldn't make sense if it wasn't Shulk, Monolith sure knows how to make people talk though.

Or maybe
its one of the effects of becoming a god for a short period of time.
:P

I played xenoblade recently and with doing a few sidequests here and there, but not really seeking them out, I clocked in at 66 hours to complete the game. That being said, I was only level 72 when I hit end-game and it's a fucking nightmare if you're not at least level 76+. So, the option was to either spend a couple hours grinding out levels or to AR myself to level 99. Guess which one I chose. I was in it for the story content anyway, so I regret nothing.

I just looked at some of the game art, his eyes are blue. They could be either. Maybe he just had another premonition!

This art depicts him very differently though.

Who owns the Xenogears name now? Would it help if this was called Xenogears?
Nah the Xenogears IP doesn't really have the selling power anymore.

I think they'll treat this as a new IP even though it might be more or less direct sequel to Xenoblade. Naming it as a sequel would limit its appeal from marketing perspective since Xenoblade was a pretty niche game.

I really hope takahashi will make this more story heavy than xenoblade and put into more epic characters.
Xenoblade had cool ideas yet few characters were memorable and the plot while nice wasn't as deep as gears.
Something midway between gears and blade would be better.
Also better character design please!!!
The rest was awesome and reminded what I loved of jrpg of old, sense of pure adventure

Obviously it's early, but I really like the armor designs and weapon designs we've seen are very militaristic instead of Xenoblade's FUCKING COLORS AND SWIMWEAR ARMOR I DONT KNOW

You can read an old article on Andriasang here that sheds light on how they've adjusted so well.

Short version is that the spent a lot of time studying games by other studios for HD platforms, well before the Wii U was released. So by the time it came round to making their own game they'd already done a ton of R&D on effective use of physics, advanced shaders, etc.

It's also because Nintendo's R&D has worked very closely with them on Xenoblade's development.I imagine the same applies for X too.

Well this also explains the darker world, I guess they will try to market this to a broader audience. I still think NOA dropped to ball on Xenoblade a much earlier localization and some serious marketing could have helped it do better than niche status.

Square-Enix.

wasted on them since they don't have the writers anymore, Monolith must be trolling them every time they use Xeno______

I am not going to complain about the color palette anymore since this is not Xenoblade but still I want the eye candy that game had not so much a war torn world of New HD Brown
