Well if you look closely at the upper right you'll see the large feature we've been looking at, just from the other side. It looks to be not too far from the waterfall, which is likely hidden behind the feature.

the feature is another one it's pointing in a different way because the bike is about to transform over water so yes it is in the same area as the falls just not sure which side this base is on

edit: 2 landmarks with points facing each other

Here is the Colony Base landmark points <----
X14.jpg

this part of it you can still see the base but on the left you see the point of a second landmark point --->

end of transformation 2 landmarks ---> base <----

That scale. So do we have any clues that this might be taking place on the body of Gods again? I havent seen anything in the backgrounds that look like you'd see in Xenoblade.

As someone who has played Xenoblade but not Monster Hunter and see everything looking like Xenoblade, could someone explain me what's reminding everyone of Monster Hunter? Because if it's just that there's big monsters we already had those.

Fast-cut edits to emphasize action in expansive environments against pseudo-dinosaur looking creatures?

It's not that much of a stretch to visually relate the two between two fanbases that will generally not have too much overlap other than a cursory understanding of each other's respective game.

The waterfall should be located just behind them in the second image.

check my edit show me the second land mark point

Y (falls maybe) is my guess

I know the Xeno series like to delve into a lot of religious babble, but I hope we can stay grounded on human affairs and conflicts for a bit longer before we get all nutty with the biblical references or other religious parallels.

The second landmark you seem to be referring to isn't viewable from any other point in the trailer. They'd be somewhere south of the point the mech starts flying from.

At 0:55 we might be seeing the colony or whatever it is, assuming they're on the left side of the lake.

I thought that's exactly what they did with Xenoblade

or maybe I have it the other way around

Xenoblade didn't even have religion. Gods, yes, religion, no. At best all we got from a religious standpoint
are the Machina revering Meyneth.

Could be the same with X.

Kind of, I was thinking more about the conflict between humans and humans rather than humans and monsters that eat them.

Granted at least the man eating monsters had a kind of interesting twist.

I can fully understand why some were disappointed with Xenoblade's story, it certainly wasn't as out there as previous entries.

IMO this is both good and not so good.

My only problem with Xenoblade story was the last half, the script looked like it came out from a Tales Of!

Oh come now, Tales is much worse than that.

The last half is probably Tales on a good day.

I'm basing this solely off my last experience with a Tales game which was Graces F.

I was honestly expecting a more compact RPG similar to The Last Story, but after watching the trailer a few times and seeing these posts, it's obvious it's going to be huge.

This can't get here soon enough. Hopefully they don't run into big development problems.

Xenoblade was huge, I didn't expect any different for a followup from the same guys.

The sense of scale you got from the two giant gods in Xenoblade was fucking amazing. Standing on the fingertip of Mechonis' fallen arm... brilliant.

Nah bring on the philosophy please.

im so afraid of x pulling a versus. the curse of hd towns! what if the game doesn't come out in 6~7 years?

The game is still a little rough on the edges, but it looks like its coming together pretty well. HD towns are just an excuse made by Square because they had so much trouble getting a competent team together. HD towns are prefectly possible, but you have to have a good synergy in the developent team. If anything, Versus, FF XIII and FF XIV show that Square really has trouble with HD development. I don't think thats the case for Monolith.

It's funny that you say its a little rough around the edges when you know next to nothing about it. From my perspective it looks incredible and no doubt theyll clean up the graphics, etc.

Yes, I was awestruck when I first discovered that area (even though I got murdered by the monster up there).

I really need to finish Xenoblade. I got stuck due to me being both under-leveled and awful at RPGs. :/

Off with you, blasphemer! The successor to Xenoblade should be nothing but gigantic.

I've realized the error of my ways. I will never doubt Monolith again.

I think Xenoblade is the better of the other Xeno games when it comes to story. Less theological babbling is good. Bless Monolith Soft and Nintendo for toning that down into something actually comprehensible in Xenoblade.

the wait for this game is going to be unbearable..
I guess it's time to hunt down a version of Xenoblade and beat it this time...

This game looks so epic.. Can't wait to find out more about it at E3..

Launch by the end of the year or bust..

Man, resisting to click all of the Xenoblade spoilers and links in here is tough. Need to put in the extra 10-15 hours to finally beat the game :x

Am I missing out if I never played Xenogears or Xenoblade?

I personally never played it but, I did however, hear about it before.

They're not connected plotwise. Only the three Xenosaga games are directly connected (to each other.) You are however missing out of Xenogears' great story and Xenoblade's amazing gameplay and world. :P

Yup... i don't get it either. I think there were enough colossal monsters in Xenoblade, to see they didn't just "turn this into" MH. Granted, the ones in the trailer look really huge, but not that they don't fit into the Xenoblade universe, and likely the ones in the trailer are about as big as they'll come in the actual game.

As a player of both Xenoblade and Monster hunter, I feel I should chime in.

The ONLY gameplay stuff I see here that seems Monster Hunter-ish (as opposed to Xenoblade-ish), is cutting enemy tails or equivalents. That's pretty much it (and is there in other games, like Dark Souls). There's also the bit that Monster Hunter registers the part of the monster you're hitting and calculates damage and bounce back as a result, but this seems quite different (and in any case, used in many games) as the system we may or may not have in X. Otherwise, the combat is still pretty obviously Xenoblade 2.0, which is great for me as I love it (but I also love Monster Hunter, so it's win-win for me).

That said, the LOOK is a bit Monster Hunter-ish, as Monster Hunter enemies are typically larger, and also somewhat dinosaur-like (it does have enemies based on all the animal spectrum, including mammals, fish and birds, but dinosaurs/lizards/dragons tend to dominate).
