Orders already arriving for people that ordered in January, just got a shipping notice when I ordered in September.... Are they shipping LIFO after they oversold?

Have no intention of selling or buying the WE, have my own coming in. Just pisses me off on these prices. I understand they are out to make money, but this is fucking ridiculous.

Well, considering that... A lot of people who ordered it, but didn't receive it in a timely manner, decided to buy the regular version, so, it's really an extra copy they have. I'm actually in the same boat.

Here's my story so far

9/29 orderred --> Got canceled --> received apology email and asked to order again --> called and bitched about it yesterday --> get a new order placed --> order processing

I checked my shipment and it supposedly arrived in my city already despite it being scheduled to get delivered tomorrow. Anyone know if I could call them and ask to pick it up myself? The way things are going I rather just get it myself and at least have it today since I won't be home tomorrow when they are scheduled to deliver.

I got my email. I got a tracking URL too. Not blank like other people said they got. It was the same one I got using Track by Reference.
It is UPS. So I hope the posts earlier about no brokerage are correct.

Welp, pretty sure I'm not getting one at this point. My confirmation email is time stamped 10:01 pst on Jan 17th. Talked to customer service for an hour or so (mostly hold) and they seemed to be saying that anyone who received a cancellation announcement email at this point should expect to have their order officially cancelled sometime soon. Asked why people seem to be getting their orders fulfilled at random in regard to what time and day they ordered, and was told, again, that they are cancelling everything not processed at this point. Don't know if this is actually true. It seemed like they've gone past the point where you can complain and get them to reorder for you.

I ordered in early August and mine is on track to be delivered tomorrow. I only received the shipping confirmation this afternoon but it was actually shipped Tuesday night.

So, I called.

I spoke with Angel, and I asked for an update on my order. She said it was "in process." I didn't mention the cancellation e-mail.

I asked when it should ship, and she said she can't give out that information. I asked if I should expect an e-mail when it ships, and she said "if it ships, you will receive an e-mail." I then asked if there is a chance if it won't ship, and she said, "she can't give out that information."

Conversation then disconnected. Not sure if she hung up on me or what.

You know what the reorder email says call and tell them you got that email and see what they say. I would but they already made a note on my account.

This is my first time dealing with DR and I know they have had a bad reputation for awhile now, but have they ever fucked up this bad before? Is it always this bad? How are they still in business?

So many companies use them that a couple fuck ups doesn't hurt them at all.

Mine says out for delivery by 4:30pm. So should be sitting there when I get home. What a nightmare though, going through this thread. I'll never order digital rivers again... ughhhhh

So, has ANYONE who ordered on the 17th during the fake restock gotten a full confirmation or was everybody that ordered that day screwed?

If Consumerist covers this I hope they dig deep and find all their other fuck ups.

... And it might be worth considering voting for as a "worst company". Not just for this, if this were their only screw up it'd be petty, but the fact they seem to be fucking up every single pre-order product they go with (horror stories about Darksiders 2 LE and Surface RT), as well as how bad they are with support and online functionality versus almost literally every other business out there. And I bet they still want download insurance for digital content too, so hit them for that. They don't wreck livelihoods admittedly, but I have to assume every other company that can qualify is, well, reasonably competent at daily dealings with consumers at least.

Also, no update on my end. Seems I'm one of those stuck in limbo, it'd figure if it really did get canned in the end. Also my Nintendo charge for yesterday vanished so yeah, you really can't use those as a measure of anything (plus it sounds like we'd only be so fortuante as to get money back that easily and quickly.)

Always look out for powered by Digital River in storefronts. Most publishers like using them.

Received my shipping confirmation. I'm skeptical until I actually have it.

Still though:

I have no confirmation email, no shipping email, and my order on the website says "packed"

soooooo, i have no idea whats going on. glad i bought the plain digital version so i could play it

Just got my shipping confirmation, and I'm in Canada. Not sure if any other Canadians have gotten their confirmation yet, and if not, there's your ray of hope!

Just got my shipping confirmation. They awkwardly separated it into two line items though which makes it look like I ordered 4 but they only shipped two when I only ordered two.

No email yet, but the UPS label has been printed...

Yeah, my only other time dealing with DR was when MvC3 came out. I remember thinking that the website and the checkout were kind of odd and janky, but nothing of quite *this* calibur ever happened.

So why do they use them? Incredibly cheap for them to use, I'm guessing? And I'm thinking this ain't the first time Digital River has screwed over customers like this?

microsoft uses them, I haven't gotten a problem. I think it's the communication problem between namco and dr.
My guess is Digital River works best with in stock, ready to be sold items. Which honestly probably is enough for most people, but it seems whenever pre-orders are a factor things get fucked up.

What a damn mess this has been. I seriously hope both Namco Bandai and Digital River are nailed to the wall and held accountable for all these screw ups. Chances are they won't be though, which really sucks.

Yeah not likely. The only people who really care are the people who got screwed. I doubt many people who received their shipping confirmations even check this thread anymore.

I did get my confirmation, but I've been in the shoes of those who haven't before, so I'm pissed off out of empathy for the folks who are getting screwed over. I hate to see people get trampled on like this with no form of reasonable recourse.

wow they dont even have the normal edition, I guess they will wait till the promo code with the $20, or wait till most people order Naruto XD.

Since i will probably not get it, will simply go by the 6.5/10 reviews and never buy the game

It is the very least i can do when i get treated like that

Also should there no be legal implications if i miss money from my account wihtout getting anything ? I would love to sue them for every minute my money were stolen

This.
I won't completely feel safe until I'm holding that book and the game is in my PS3. Meanwhile, I'm just getting riled up over everyone else's cancellations haha.
