aw I get so tired of this generic superhero shit. i can enjoy it of course & I'm probably exaggerating right now but it sucks that everybody's always talking
about super- and spiderman and there's nobody to discuss promethea or captain britain
or other slightly more obscure stuff :/

Fine I'll shut up :(

You mean like Amalgam?

While that looks neat, I was thinking more along the lines of the characters existing side by side instead of being amalgamations of characters :p

You'd have to combine some things I imagine, like organizations (the justice league and avengers perhaps? shield wit ???), but superman and Captain America should definitely exist side-by-side.

I fucks with Captain Britain and Meggan, underrated power couple. And you have the Warpies and shit.

Fingers crossed for MAYBE finally getting Interwebs at the new house today. It's raining so Comcast might find that as a perfect excuse not to show up.

Fine I'll shut up :(

haha sorry didn't want to be rude, post whatever you like of course!
but I'll stick with my favorites :3

Just trying to send you on a guilt trip :P

My favorite comic used to be this:

[IMGs]http://www.superrobotmayhem.com/images/indie-comics/kabuki/kabuki-circle-of-blood_228.jpg[/IMG]

So I also like non-typical non-extreme superhero stuff.

I dunno what that is but I like what I'm seeing.

My favorite mainstream Western comic was Hellblazer but it's been pretty shitty for a long time :(

Kabuki by David Mack.
looks nice!

haha I probably should not bring all the european stuff up I read,
even fewer peopler would know :/

edit: oh fuck I sound like a shitty hipster ahaha! but since I'm from europe
I hope it gets a pass, cause it's not that unknown & hipsterlike here! :D

looks nice!

It is very nice. His early work is all black and white and rather simple, but the series he did with Image was coloured and almost every page looked like a painting.

It's a small list. So easy to read all of them

Kabuki: Circle of Blood - consists of Kabuki: Fear the Reaper and Circle of Blood #1–6
Kabuki: Dreams - consists of Kabuki Color Special, Kabuki: Dreams of the Dead, Kabuki #1/2, and The Ghost Play
Kabuki: Masks of Noh - consists of Masks of the Noh #1–4
Kabuki: Skin Deep - consists of Kabuki: Skin Deep #1–3
Kabuki: Metamorphosis - consists of Kabuki #1–9
Kabuki: Scarab, Lost in Translation - consists of Kabuki: Scarab #1–8 and new material (Image Comics, 2002, ISBN 1-58240-258-2)
Kabuki: The Alchemy - limited series, 9 issues

I read up untill Metamorphosis.
It might not be for everyone though

Unlike most comic series, the plot of Kabuki moves very little over the course of the volumes. Very little fast-paced or violent action takes place. Instead, most of the focus is on memories, dreams, thoughts and philosophy. David Mack's characters, especially Kabuki herself, revisit the same scenes and memories many times, rethinking them and their significance. Mack uses myriad art styles, not only pencil, ink, and color, but paint, magazine clippings, manga scans, and crayons. In Kabuki: The Alchemy especially, many of the pages are photos (or color scans) of collages using a variety of materials; for example, the fingers of Japanese sandalwood fans become the borders of the comic panels. Imagery is very important and prominent in the series; Mack reuses the same images, often changing them slightly, and focusing on the emotional content of images and the power of memories.

Oh man, I really like how European comics look like. I'll have to read these some day.

I find it much sad that my favorite Korean artist doesn't get his works properly translated. His shit deserves recognition, goddamnit!

Is this like a meta tread for sharing stuff? I don't have much to share except that I start my last semester of college early tomorrow and I can't sleep.

Yes. And oversharing. This comic stuff is so passé, we need to move on to something like experiences with performance art (cooking, sex, etc) while wearing burning hats. I am sure .la1n has a story to share.

I started my last semester a decade ago. And a month earlier. Good luck!

Or a fraternity where the only demeaning hazing you have to endure is posting on GAF.

That's pretty demeaning.

Harley Quinn is the Waluigi of comic books

No that's Joker, because he's the best character.

Best Character Who Should Be Worst Character

Pffft not liking Waluigi. I have a gif for people like you:
iGZuX86K9eUkt.gif

Inque was probably my favorite villain from the show. She did some pretty gross stuff. Things actually got pretty dark with some of them but yeah, no one was really iconic.

Really sucks that those import people would have a problem with Pokemon cards, of all things. :/

Inque was alright, but still not really all that memorable really.

I can see it now, one of them would make it so it can't pass because his kid is a huge pokemon fan. Instead of actually paying for the item he takes it from another innocent person. Bastard!

i remember buying that during the whole "bad girls" fad lol
couldn't really get into it but always loved all the nice covers

No you fools, I fucking LOVE Waluigi! He's the best! But you can't deny that on paper he should suck, he was created to be Wario's doubles partner. He is awesome against the odds.

Good! He should be boring, but once you are enlightened to his greatness you see things differently. I'll forever wish that he had a game where he actually plays a villain role and a good one, everybody knows Wario wishes he was as evil as Waluigi.

I like to think that Waluigi is just some freak noone knows that keeps turning up to their parties.

Everybody knows Waluigi, he's like the VIP of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Time to learn Korean. Actually, I'd probably be okay just buying his stuff for the art. What's his name?

Captain Britain? Oh, Alan Moore wrote some. Ahem *cough* no thank you.

Also, if you want to get back into comics, start following creative teams and not characters. No such thing as a bad character, just bad writers.

Truth.

To change the subject, I think I want a job in admissions at a college. Because fuck these people don't do shit. I've spent the whole day calling to ask a question that would literally take them five minutes to answer. Five minutes. Five. They already screwed up my application once by loosing my transcripts and I couldn't get in for this semester because of it even though they said I would have been accepted otherwise. I'm afraid it's gonna happen again. :/

Speaking of Alan Moore, I recently finished reading this:

190673593X.1.zoom.jpg

I want to say it was surprisingly good, but when it's Alan Moore it should never be a surprise that it was good. But I really liked it, and it made me sad that this is yet another Moore project which will never be finished. I really would like to have seen what the rest of Halo's life held for her, almost to the point of dreaming of fanfiction continuations.
