DL'ded Ninja Gaiden on the Vita. Apart from the halved framerate the game is almost 1:1 to the PS3 version, which I liked but never got around to finishing it. I'm loving this

No sale in the US. IIRC, the last FF sale we had was during Spring Fever last March. Maybe we'll get another one this March.

Now I will get NGS+ 2 & DOA 5 vita in Feb to thank Tecmo / Team Ninja.

I bought FF9 3 days before the sale and didn't even go far enough to notice (I was on the Vita) because I turned the game off when I realized it was in French.
The fact they're using the old localized versions probably means they come with the full PAL shit package...
In an ideal world, they'd let you choose which PS1 iso you want.

It's okay. I played it and enjoyed it, at least.

While it's similar to Zelda, there's some major differences, in my eyes:

Combat is much more involved in Darksiders; closer to God of War in complexity.

The dungeons are about on a par with Zelda, but there's disappointingly few of them. A nice factor, though, is that they feel organic in the world; they don't feel like they only exist so they can be dungeons.

However, I do have one major criticism in that there's very little to divert you from the main quest, few rewarding secrets to seek out, little reason to just spend some time exploring the world.

Unfortunately for my own tastes, the parts of Zelda I really like are the parts Darksiders isn't so good at and the parts of Zelda I generally don't care too much about are the ones Darksiders does better at; someone with the opposite tastes would get more out of it than I did.

Not sure about some of you but PSN+ is a godsend for people like me who can't spend a lot of money on games. Sure we'll get a few bad ones in the mix BUT. FREE. GAMES for the price of one game for a year for my Vita AND PS3.

Yeah it feels less responsive but the port is okay overall for what I've played of it (I'm in chapter 2).

Honing your skills at 1-frame linking in Street Fighter 4 and execution heavy moves in Virtua Fighter can do that to you. =P

Still, though I played Starfox on SNES, Goldeneye 64, Castlevania Lords of Shadow so visually if there is not a better alternative I have no problems.

The image quality in NGS+ is superb indeed, native resolution trumps level of detail in my opinion, coming from Uncharted: Golden Abyss to NGS+ I think the latter looks much more impressive, but I'm one of those crazy guys who thinks Ridge Racer 7 is one of the best looking games of the generation.

I bought a DS at the time for NGDS. Still have it. It's a very cool game, and the book style in which you hold the DS while using the stylus worked well. It isn't as deep as the recent NG console games, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well things did transition over.

This is my first time playing ninja gaiden and its not the greatest camera but works fine with the second stick.

Pro tip - almost never use the right stick in Ninja Gaiden. Camera center button is way faster and more useful.

I mention this here as i figure a number of you have forgotten you got the game for free, or were to bummed about no online play to give the game a shot so I figured I would remind people so that the PS+ community could maybe help give the game some online life even though the dlc is so late into the games life lol.

I'm fully prepared to be ridiculed for missing something obvious, but I'm stuck on the third trial.

In the Ninja Trials, the third one in asks you to blow up a radio tower. You get some arrows. All I can do is fire them straight ahead, rather than aim them at the tower.

Press O to draw your bow, then... Left stick does nothing. Right stick just moves the camera a bit. D-pad doesn't aim. Gyro doesn't aim. Releasing O just fires the arrow ahead.

How the hell am I meant to aim the god damn arrows to shoot the tower?

Tap the screen to go into first person. You can gyro-aim or stick-aim from there.

I don't think those will count towards the promotion, because he's selling you 12 30-day cards. I suspect you need an actual 1 year lump to get the 3 months.
