2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Finally picked up Dark Souls, thank you Based Durante! (2160p Rendering Resolution + Level 4 SMAA)

The texture work is kind of incredible and Durante's AO implementation is fucking fantastic. Oh and the hotkey for hud removal is god-tier.

Is anybody in this thread experiencing really bad stuttering in Far Cry 3? It happened after the first update (I think) and its made it unplayable. Its nothing to do with my Crossfire either. Its really pissing me off, at the moment the game is a waste of £30.

Just beat the four kings in NG+, and since I was so dark in the abyss I thought I do a collage of the gear that destroyed them. (And to express my gratitude to durante). Sry if I am breaking the rules.

Try limiting the framerate with Afterburner or something like it.

yea not trying to come down on you antitop but you seem to just be posting screens at random without much thought going into the shots that your taking. I can make any game look bad but this thread is supposed to be for your very best shots that other people would like to see as well.

Since when? this ain't the art shots thread. A mix of the bizarre, the genuine gameplay and the PR bullshit viral marketing wankshot are all valid.

No, that was certainly my mistake. I edited the post when I woke up this morning and I apologize for shitting up the thread with them. I wasn't literally trying to make the game look like shit, I just took some shots at random.

Totally my bad.

Also, for a 2005 game those rfactor shots look incredible.

There is nothing better than tessellation :O

Im pretty sure there is no tessellation in the crysis 3 beta.
What you see here is called parallax mapping.

Talking about Crysis, does anyone know why im getting a 20pfs framedrop when "water" is set to very high instead of medium with no visible difference apart from the light reflections on the walls?
(only in regions with water of course, lights vanish at high but the framedrop only stops at medium...)
Im running a oced 7850 and i5@4Ghz

What program are you using to take a screenshot when Downsampling at 3200x1800?

FRAPs crashes whenever I take a shot at anything over 2880x1620.

When downsampling to 1080p, I don't really see the point of anything past 1620p. Also, with SMAA Ultra, it's hard to see the difference between that and 1440p.

IMO.

Only got 20-25fps with these settings, but you can't see FPS in a screenshot! That's what Crysis 2 ran on consoles anyway, right?

Fraps, saving as PNG, not having any problems...

I see, didn't know that, I only have 1440p, 1800p and 2160p. I guess I'll make a 1620p one then.

Mechwarrior: Online

The game is really starting to shape up.

My only gripes are the lack of proper AA options and the intrusive HUD warnings.

Hawken looks much, much more impressive than Mechwarrior, that's for sure - even the HUD is well-integrated and colored evenly.

At least Mechwarrior has the upper hand in terms of mech designs and lore, and I still prefer drawn-out battles between big slow mechs slugging it out, rather than a fast-paced action-sim.

Ya, exactly. Other than the "cockpit view" they're pretty much entirely different games.
I'm sure people who loved Mechwarrior in the 90s, myself included, still find a lot to like about MWO. Hawken is more like Counter-Strike than Mechwarrior. MWO is still doing its own thing.

Also, lasers are cooler than machine guns.

I had no idea Crazy Taxi was in that! Amazing!
Those screenshots make that Sonic All Stars game look like so much fun. How is it?

Haha, that's one way to put it.

But yes I like that they are trying to merge different genres with Hawken - it looks and plays like an interesting adrenaline mech shooter. I think their goal to find a line between a mech sim and a FPS has been successfully accomplished.
