I had time to watch the first 25 minutes before leaving for work this morning and so far there has been one F-bomb and two breasts (briefly). Make of that what you will. I'm getting a "Game of Thrones in Washington" vibe so far. Liking it.
Loving the way these episodes (at least the Fincher ones, haven't gotten to the others) are edited; really snappy, clean. Kirk Baxter is doing some great work, apparently Angus Wall is doing some other episodes too?
Just wanted to say that netflix not redesigning their site for this is baffling.
if you are not a member and for whatever reason went to netflix.com you might see it. if you are a current member and go to the page it's the same old, same old. Why?
Just saw first episode. That was great! Unfortunately being outside the US though it won't let me subscribe to watch the rest of them. I tried reactivating my old account from when I lived in the US but it won't accept my foreign credit card or paypal. :-(

Am I right in thinking, reading between the lines about staying at hotels, Frank knows about his wife's (previous) affair and her not restarting it this time?

The Xbox Netflix app got an update and "Original content" is it's own category now With House of Cards being emphasized heavily. This and Arrested Development later this year is gonna be great. Since Arrested Development is on Netflix now, there wouldn't be any restriction with language and nudity.
Was going to watch ep 1, and sat through 4. The automatic playlist makes you want to marathon the season.
Like everything about it, except for the occasional weak Spacey aside, the hackneyed Russo character, and for being tempted to buy a thousand dollar rowing machine.

Huh? When I launched the app on my Xbox, I had a big welcome splashpage that was all House of Cards. It was pretty slick, in fact. More than just a Hulu featured slide.
Watched about half of episode 1 so far. I was expecting some jerky rip-off, but so far it looks like, in atmosphere, plot, behaviour to be close to the original (though the to-camera stuff is a bit overplayed). Obviously there's not quite the background of the original, and the intro sections seemed a bit rushed, but on the whole I'd say this is shaping up damn good.

frank's sermon was AMAZING. i'm really curious as to where claire's charity storyline is going. peter is totally going to have his romance fueled recovery torpedoed by being a part of frank's scheming isn't he.
it was interesting watching the first non-fincher episode. stark difference in style with the new director in charge - more languid, more in the daylight - good, more to my tastes perhaps, but i can't help but wonder what the show would be like if fincher could have directed every episode.
extended texting back and forth scene was good with the sherlock esque visuals. it's interesting how films and tv have to adapt to the changes in the way people communicate. in modern settings it feels wrong not to have lots of electronic communication between people as that's a huge part of how people talk to eachother these days, but it's so hard to make as cinematic as a real, person to person conversation or even a phone call. i thought they did a good job here though.
