starfox and wave race won't either, whats your point?
Star Fox and F Zero would sell more than Pikmin....

Pikmin isn't going to save Nintendo. Iwata should have slapped Miyamoto as soon as he suggested it.

Sucks for Iwata but if Nintendo's having trouble it's good they're willing to take drastic consequences. It's not like Sony/Microsoft where their games division can hemorrhage money and they can just be like 'oh well, we'll get em next time'. They have to make a profit. Convince me to buy a Wii U Nintendo!

Neither would a GBA 2.0
Star Fox has been on a decline
Can't comment on F-Zero though as I never looked at how it sells.
f-zero would not sell more than pikmin. both pikmin games on the gamecube outsold f-zero gx.
star fox is more recognizable. it's also a pretty shitty series with one good game (star fox 64).
Evil.(kaz laughs)

Starfox has been on a decline because Miyamoto keeps forcing stupid ideas on to the designers like all range mode, land based levels and other vehicles.
Starfox is a shooter goddammit. A star based shooter! I'm surprised Starfox 64 was so good despite his attempts to derail it.
Lets not forget that it was his idea to change Dinosaur Planet into Starfox adventures. Dude single handedly destroyed Rare as well.
The touch screen on 3DS is useless because using it as a primary game display is obviously never gonna happen. Old DS games could switch between the screens and it was fine, now you don't want to be looking away from the vastly superior top screen. The dual screens is a relic that serves no purpose. It's just another example of 3DS being a poorly thought out product.
Pikmin sells better than both of those series.
I seriously question the business knowledge some of you recent posters have. Its pretty fucking obvious that the 20+ million people who purchased a 3ds did so off the basis of the 3d (either as a primary or secondary reason). A couple of posters on GAF don't represent the interests of the market as a whole.in other words, those who arent fond of the 3d screen are just a vocal minority

You are absolutely free to have an opinion. But according to sales figures, this is not the case.
They needed to include a seperate touch screen because finger prints and smudges ruin the 3D effect. Iwata explained this when the 3DS was first unveiled.

I don't need to cite shit man! I was there!

2 good games...the ones made by Nintendo...
It's no surprise that every time Nintendo has farmed out their IP, it has been a disaster apart from Donkey Kong.

Wikipedia says Pikmin outsold Starfox : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_Nintendo_GameCube_video_gamescan you post them? googles not giving me a straight answer.
But there's no point in a touch screen when it's always going to be on a secondary screen. With the DS the second screen could have the gameplay on it so you had cool stuff like Yoshi Touch and Go and the first Kirby and Ouendan. Now it's just something that's there because they didn't come up with anything better.

You can't be credible with your claims then if you can't back them up![]()
monster's excite games were pretty badass. they could probably make an f-zero that's fun to play (that concept might anger fans of the series, but having a fun racing game isn't a bad thing).
next-level seems to know their stuff too.
Nintendo should replace Iwata with a westerner who knows what the Internet is if they intend to keep competing with Microsoft and Apple.
dude...it's well publicised that Miyamoto and his clique which includes Iwata absolutely detested Rare cos they were like tech wizards and every one loved them. Miyamoto was livid when he was told that Yoshis Island was shit compared to DKC...understandably cos YI is fucking awesome and DKC is dogshit.
Miyamoto never forgot and when he saw Dino Planet he decided to Cena the game and Rare as well because he knew he was over the hill and Mario Sunshine was going to be shit (which it was) and he couldnt afford to be shown up by Rare so he insisted they turn it into Starfox adventures. The rest history and Rare now make shovelware....ironically just like Miyamoto!

There is no rule indicating the second screen is useless if it is not used as a primary screen for some games.
And basis for your proclamation is... ?
in the us:
f-zero x: 390k
f-zero gx: 360k
f-zero mv: 280k
f-zero gpl: lower than that
pikmin: 680k
pikmin 2: 400k
in japan:
f-zero x: 100k
f-zero gx: 100k
f-zero mv: 330k
f-zero gpl: 9k
f-zero climax: 5k
pikmin: 500k
pikmin 2: 480k
I honestly don't know why people keep feeding Brera. This could have easily ended 10 pages ago.

But what happened to the comparison with the star fox series?
I am on ipad, so I am not tempted to surf around & copy/pasting.![]()
You could say the same thing about nearly anything on a system. Shoulder buttons are not a priority either, not every game uses them.I haven't played a single 3DS game that's had meaningful touch screen usage. And I'm sure somebody can name one, but the fact is it's far, far less of a priority for devs now than the DS' touch screen was. If the second screen was gone from the 3DS few people would miss it.
Like a said in my previous post, why would someone buy a product if most if not all aspects of the product appealed to them? Take 3dtvs for example; most of the people who buy them most likely do because one bulletpoint the tv covers is 3d. It doesn't have to be the consumers primary factor for purchase but just one of many reasons. Else the consumer would look for another product which doesn't have a feature they don't care about or wouldn't use. Its pretty logical consumerism.
No one was buying the 3DS either before Nintendo put some effort in.
Sony has not release much at all for it or pushed it since it's launch. I'm guessing they are waiting for a tied relaunch with the PS4 this year. Holding back content before blowing their load. Have you seen Killzone on Vita??
Hope I don't come across all Anti-Nintendo. I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy!
Pretty sure Iwata knows what the internet is and used it wisely to make people aware of Animal Crossing in Japan with its Direct and then made it a megaseller. What Nintendo really needs is a new marketing team in America. US is dragging them down, Reggie can't even make it clear to people that the 3DS is a new generation device after 2 years almost.
There are people here bad mouthing Fzero and Starfox (as one of the worst Nintendo franchises) and proclaiming Pikmin and Kid Icarus....KID ICARUS with it's shitty controls as something better!
Guys...you do understand there have only been 2 Starfox games? On the SNES and N64?
updated with the star fox numbers. people only think star fox is a big deal because it once was about 20-15 years ago.
f-zero was a launch game for the snes and that's where any of its mainstream popularity ends.

E: I guess Kid Icarus, but given how awful that game is because there's no second stick I wouldn't use that as a reason to praise a touch screen.
