I joined Netflix to watch this and haven't been disappointed. I'm on episode 4 at the moment and loving every minute, although I wish Fincher could have directed every episode.
Looks like it's working then.

Haha, I kind of want a vita now.
ep 12Just half way in that Billionaire is really throwing Frank off his game lol
Very strange that it took 12 episodes for someone to fill that role. It was definitely a missing element prior to that.
Nah. It was just awkward. There was the CoD scene, etc. it's just part of his character. The show is rife with the apple logo, and they deliberately did not say playstation. I think that 124$ vita in the buy/sell/trade thread is what's really making me want one.I was gonna say, can someone GIF the Vita scenes. (with subs!) lol. Would be perfect for Vita threads. What was the point of that anyway? Seemed like blatant advertisement.

Episode 12:Tabitha's my new favorite character.
Yup, that's the series' biggest weakness so far. However, I can understand that we're basically halfway through the 2 season arc. It would have been a mistake to pull out all the stops so soon, I think. (when you do, it usually ends badly. see: Homeland S2) Hopefully S2 takes advantage of that to take this series to the next level.

It's only the trial month! Netflix UK just doesn't have a big enough selection for me to subscribe.

And the Vita thing was definitley product placement. That or Fincher paying Sony a favor for bankrolling the Social Network and the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Because if that was willingly put in there... then someone needs to be fired.
They said "P-S Vita."I think somebody should be fired then. Maybe I'm just naive, but it seems cynical to the point of paranoia to assume that was some sort of "deal." They barely showed the thing, they didn't say sony or playstation and his character ALREADY has the endearing quirk of being a gamer. It was just clumbsy. In the same scene the daughter was twiddling with her iPhone, hell in that scene the iPhone had more screentime. I dunno. It was awkward, but it was no powerade vending machine in the matrix.

I looked up one of those row things and was surprised to see it "only" costs 995$.
you should invest in a sony playstation vita instead

I think that type of conversation happens all the time between an adult that does not give a crap about a kid, yet since the parent of that kid is standing right there the Adult tries to relate in some way to the kid. Is that a PSVita? I should get one of those? He could have easily have said, Is that a Gameboy? Generations ago.
I think the only reason it sounds off to us on GAF is because we are too close to the subject people who don't know what a Vita is would not have an issue with that scene as much as we do.
Frank has a habit of playing FPS on his PS3 makes perfect sense he would know what a PSVita is I am sure Sony plasters Vita ads all over PSN
but for most of us this scene has been taking up lots of thread space
There was zero point to have the Vita thing in the show. Nothing to do with what was going on that couldn't have been accomplished by conservation that didn't feel so forced and unnatural.I think somebody should be fired then. There's Sony product placement all over the show. Sony TV, Sony headset, Killzone, PS Vita. You think it's all a coincidence? Really?
]Iphone gets a lot of screen time because that is something that happens in real life, people use Iphones all the time.
I dunno, I didn't notice any of those things and I'm pretty sure that was CoD?
To be honest all I'm noticing are the iMacs and iOS devices, and all the coke cans, but there was an out of focus red bull can too which made me wonder if red bull was owned by coca cola.

In the first episode? Definitely Killzone.I dunno, I didn't notice any of those things and I'm pretty sure that was CoD?
if Sony has a deal Apple has a deal
Video games are a quirk in this show that made sense with maybe the kids.
Lots of business folk constantly use smartphones, and lots of smartphones happen to be iPhones. Not like they've shied away from showing the blackberry logo either.
The crater in Robin Wright's throat is really distracting.
