on the contrary, he said he will be directing one.

he's doing ep 6 of 8, aka 5.14

edit: as for maclaren, I dunno. Can't find anything. I would think she'll have at least one though.

She's now a co-executive producer and directing two episodes for season 3 of Game of Thrones.

Considering the filming timing though, it's possible that she still is working on the final eight of Breaking Bad.

Anyway just rewatched "Fly" on blu-ray sogood.gif <3

"Look at these haters over here."

Man, I missed my chance to snap some good quality photos of the Saul Goodman billboard they had up in front of the Walt White/Octopus car wash earlier in the week. After they did their shoot, they replaced it with a legit one. Was neat seeing that for a couple of days on the drive to work...like almost being in that version of Albuquerque.

Confirmation of what a lot of people were guessing already:

- THR: 'Breaking Bad' Creator Vince Gilligan to Direct Series Finale
The series finale will mark only the fifth time Gilligan has directed an episode during the show's entire five-season run. He previously directed the pilot, the last episode of season three and the last two episodes of season four.

"I'm going to write the very last episode. It's the only one I'll have written with these final eight, so I'm hoping I have enough time to write it," Gilligan said while attending the ceremony where Breaking Bad took home the award for best television drama.

When asked how he felt about the series ending, Gilligan wasn't shy about revealing how sad he's become now that the end is in sight.

"I'm sad, it's a very bittersweet thing. I'm very sad about it being over," he admitted. "There's always going to be somebody who says they wished it went a different way. But if it ends well, if it ends right. … Hopefully we're going to please the bulk of our viewers with this ending. We're going to leave it all on the field, I can tell you that."

According to Gilligan, the third-to-last episode's script is finished, and the penultimate episode is being written this week. Preproduction on the series finale begins at the end of February, so he said he needs to start putting his fingers to the keyboard to get the final script finished in time.

amen to that. I'll also say that mad men didn't hook me at first, it took more viewing a while later and now I think it's one of the best shows on tv and definitely in the pantheon of one of the best ever.

Pretty much this, so far for me at least. I got up to season 4 the first time I watched and really liked it, but didn't fully understand it. And then I restarted it and realized how masterful it is.

I know. :(
I've tried Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Justified, Mad Men and none of them have got me hooked like Breaking Bad has.

If you only watched the first handful of Justified episodes, I would implore you to dig deeper. Chances are good that it'll get it's hooks in you before the first season is over. Also House of Cards is fucking great.

Though with the exception of Walking Dead, your post has the names of most of the best shows I've ever seen (missing Deadwood, Rome, The Wire, and Sherlock), so I don't know quite how to judge your taste.

Like omnomis said you should definitely watch until the last episodes of season 1 to know if it's for you. 2nd season is AMAZING.

Oh and personally I was hooked on mad men by the time I started the 3rd season (I know it's late but it was worth it).

Watch 'The Wire'. For me its the best show ever created and i dont think BB can top it, no matter how it ends. And i LOVE Breaking Bad! I also watched all 5 seasons of The Wire after the first 8 episodes of season 5 aired last year. I never thought any TV show can be better than BB but The Wire blew my fucking mind!

Season 1 was the weakest imo. Although that could be because I wasn't fully into the show until halfway through season 2. A rewatch might change my views but I have to ask, what soured you on season 5?

I was really liking Mad Men's first season... got up to ep. 10 and thought to myself 'I could be watching something else'. It just wasn't interesting me anymore. I'll get back to it eventually but the show doesn't really go anywhere.

Fun fact, I watched Season 4 of Mad Men before I saw the previous seasons.
It was weird watching season 1 and hearing just "Sterling Cooper" as the company name.

Shit sorry guys, mind lapsed on me and I forgot this was the Breaking Bad thread.

This shit infuriates me, I hate when people do this I don't know why it just feels like a huge fuck you/troll to the writers of a show (not the spoiler but people who skip seasons or watch sequels without seeing the first).

Just posting in this thread without reading anything as I just finished watching Seasons 1 to 4 on Netflix the past two months. Now to find a way to watch Season 5 as it isn't on Netflix yet. I loved the way Season 4 ended and would have been totally happy if that was the series finale.

I was reading through the old threads as I watched each season (wasn't hard to read the season 1 and 2 threads :lol). Here are my takes on a couple of the big debates discussed:

The Skylar debate: Yes, Skylar is a bitch and I hated her character for most of season 2 and 3. Her story did get more interesting the last half of season 3 and in season 4, so I don't mind her now.

The Armorix "Walt is evil" debate: I don't think Walt is evil at all. He started off thinking he was going to die and did what he did for his family. That isn't the case anymore as he made dumb decisions and his pride gets in the way too often, leading to more trouble. However a lot of the bad he does was caused by Jesses dumb decisions too and Walt reacting to protect Jesse. I guess I'm in the middle of this debate... Walt is a "bad guy" but in this case I'm cheering for the bad guy and I hope he comes out clean in the end (probably won't happen though).

The Walt murder count debate: I don't think Walt killed Jane at all like some do. He also didn't set off the bomb to kill Gus although he would have if he had to do it. In the end he killed the 2 guys in season 1 out of self defense, the 2 dealers to save Jesse, and the 2 thugs in season 4 in the lab. I could be missing some but Jane, Gus, Tio, and Tyrus aren't on his kill list. Jesse has gotten off realtively easy since he just shot Gale and the guy in Mexico.

My favorite character is Jesse I think, but I don't root for him to make it through in the end.

As I said, this is all based on the first 4 seasons so I'll join in on any debates in a couple of weeks when I'm all caught up. Until then, I'm out... bitches!
