Achieve Trophies | February 2013 Thread | Platinum All-Stars Battle Royale

I'm about to start Dust An Elysian Tale. Is there anything I should look out for regarding missable achievements, achieve-trophy gaf? I know I can look it up but I want to avoid spoilers.

Hmmmph well it turned out to be very easy to look up the missable achievement without spoilering anything. There is a Paragon achievement and a Renegade achievement, both relating to a single side quest early in the game. You can get only one or the other in a single save, but you can manage your save files creatively to get both in one run. And even if you don't, it's really early in the game.

Okay, this is what I like to hear. Now I can plow through the game without having a single peek at any other road map or achievement guide. I love being able to do this.

WAIT. Start at max difficulty (difficulty achievements stack).

For the missable with the two options side quest, it took me 25min rushing to it by starting a new game.

Happy to help, I love stackable achievements and I'm sad when I miss them. Always play at highest difficulty when possible and useful achievement wise. :)

You enjoy it. That's a cool sweet game that took me around 17h to complete at 100%.

Platinum #19: Midway Arcade Origins
The games that gave me the most trouble was Smash TV and Joust 2, the rest was really easy.

I'll have Resistance: Burning Skies platinumed sometime this evening and then move on to Ni No Kuni. You know, I only paid $10 for Resistance, but I actually had a pretty good time with this title. Rough around the edges, yes, but well worth $10 in any case. I'm now sold on FPS for the Vita so I think I'll definitely be picking up Killzone.

Got all the trophies for Echochrome.

Started working on Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. I've gone through all the characters for Marvel Super Heroes and now need to work on MvsC side of things.

Also working on the first God of War, currently at saving the oracle portion. Not looking forward to the Challenge of the Gods.

I have this pretty big backlog, and I'm wondering if I can get tips on which of these games' goals would be the fastest to go through, which ones should I tackle first. I'd also like to put priority on the game's quality too (and for this reason I think everyone here will say play Vanquish first, haha).

AC Revelations, goal: 600-900/1000 (I hate the online, so I would just aim to beat the game, do all the side quests, and maybe cheese a few easy online achievements. I will not touch any DLC)

Bulletstorm, goal: 600-900/1000 (I'll aim to do all the single player stuff, but from what my brother says about the co-op, I might give up early. So that's why I'm not aiming for 1000/1000)

Catherine: 1000/1000

Dante's Inferno: 1000/1000 + DLC

Enslaved: 1250/1250

Halo Anniversary, 600-900/1000 (Another game where I'm not interested in online, and thus the softened goal)

Splinter Cell Conviction 1250/1250

No More Heroes Japanese, 1000/1000

Star Wars Force Unleashed 1000/1000 + DLC

Vanquish: 950/1000 (I won't touch the challenges, lol)

Witcher 2: 1000/1000

FYI I started the game (Dust) on the second highest difficulty (Tough instead of Hardcore) to make it easier on myself. The difficulty related achievements says "Beat tough or hardcore." =)

My bad. Honestly I only remembered one level of difficulty above normal but that's cool that you noticed that tough difficulty thing (I did the same but didn't remember). :)

For your backlog, sorry can't help, I didn't play any of those games nor do I own them.

Montresor:
Dante's Inferno is a ton of fun IMO, and the main game is a very easy 100%. St. Lucia DLC has some shitty achievements though.

Montresor's list:

Catherine amd witcher 2 seem to be the longest on your list, due to difficulty, Catherine, and multiple playthroughs needed for witcher 2.

Assassins Creed Rev, Halo, Bulletstorm seem the most likely choice and probably you can have them done by end of the month. Beware the book glitch in AC Rev, I learned to late :(

Thanks. I'll put AC Rev, Dante's Inferno, Bulletstorm, Halo, and Vanquish on my short list.

Too many RPGs lately, I need to get back to playing some games just to whore trophies.... Damn indoor soccer and basketball. Why must I keep my kids active and help them with their sports dammit.... I need more trophy time!

No More Heroes Japanese, 1000/1000

Not sure the differences matter, as I just finished the US version for the PS3. If I remembered my playtime, I think it took me around 33-35 hours to complete everything as you will need to play through this game three times at least.

It's not a bad game, it's just a bad ratchet and clank game.
I got your invite last night. I just wanted to finish the level i was on but then i got tired.
Next time i see you online ill join your game.

Just got to the Polar sea, i can only play like one section at a time without getting bored.

Late response but I platted it that night, I just really needed a few more thousand bolts but the casuals that play the game(thats made for them) sucked at it.

ok no problem, thanks for the heads up. Haven't played for 2 days as been sick as a dog. Hopefully I can get passed the last boss without it glitching on me this time.

Montresor, I'd say AC:R is pretty doable. Also, I don't remember Halo Anniversary having any online achievements?

I realize it's time I joined both XBL/PSN lists (though I'm slowly working through my PS3 games so it's pathetic right now):

(lol at these 4 points I can't seem to get rid of)

No problems and I deleted the game as soon I heard the Ding. Constant glitches, terrible camera, TERRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEE AI, sucky weapons and pointless gadgets, how it was released in such a state is beyond me.

Playing through One Piece right now, by pure chance, my 4000th trophy is going to be the Platinum!

Thanks again guys.

To george21000, how is the book achievement in AC Revelations glitched?

I remember this happening on the PS3 as well. But when I got to it it was already patched.

EDIT: I just wrapped up Spec Ops. Someone fill me in on the different difficulties on Dead Space 3, what's the difference between Hardcore/Pure Survival/Classic modes?

You mean Spec Ops The Line? If so congrats on the 1000/platinum. Fubar is crazy in that game.

It was touch and go for a little bit. Frankly I felt the difficulty in FUBAR was just right. Never felt like it was an unfair fight vs. the A.I. WaW and Homefront was another story though, don't think I'll ever do their hardest modes.

This is comforting. I got 1000/1000 on world at war so I should be good then. Only found the Reichstag assault controller flinging bullshit worthy. Walk 2 steps take 10 back due to 5-9 grenade indicators lol

Hey Returners, the difference between the modes are:

Hardcore: Hard difficulty, only 1 life, no check points, however you can save and quit and then back up your save on a USB stick and then reload it if you die.

Pure Survival: Hard difficulty, you have to craft all of your resources (ammo, health packs, stasis packs). Enemies wont drop off any resources except building materials.

Classic Mode: Hard difficulty, only the weapons from Dead Space 1 will be available for your use. Coop is not available in this mode.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

*editted, thanks for clarifying RPG.

Just a slight note about Classic mode, you can't modify any of your weapons and you can only craft the DS1 basic models. You can still add/craft circuits and items though.

Meanwhile, following the 200MSP sales from Take Two in early January, I got 200G on Axel & Pixel. I'm sure point&clicks are loved by many people but these kind of games with "stupid" puzzles isn't what I like. I didn't grow up with a PC when those games were popular in the mid 90s so maybe I'm lost for the cause.

Anyway that's a simple game, puzzles and collectibles are not that hard to find. The hardest thing here are the three mini games but a few tries should be enough.

Hey anyone here from Germany?

Anyone know of a good place I can get video games for a reasonable price and shipped to the US

I'm trying to get the Saints Row The Third Full Package (German Version) for Double Dip Goodness

I hate to confess it but one of the best parts of Vita is earning trophies on the go. That and I actually did half of my GoW I and II plats using remote play.

You're right! That's good news then.
That said, I remember a couple of these are way easier in coop (or with a second controller). Anything involving health/dying obviously.

I like the cut of your jib sir!
Obvious question but have you tried amazon.de?

Amazon.de or .co.uk are pretty great. I use them for US (.com) imports too since I don't mind to pay a little extra for customs. It's not that much though.

I'm extremely busy with pharmacy-related stuff this month, which is always the case in February sadly.

Nevertheless I finished Dead Space 3 single player this weekend, almost done with Classic Mode 2nd playthrough. Still need all those co-op trophies so anyone just invite me online when you see me because I have already experienced the game. You can use checkpoints in chapters to warp you straight to the co-op mission so that's cool.

I got my 12th platinum and probably one of the only ones I can be kind of proud of, Sleeping Dogs. Beating all the events I had left was kind of a chore but the worst was finding the last event I was missing. Great game though, I enjoyed it. I had beat the story on Xbox but I wanted to beat it on PS3 for the platinum.

I've been cruzing through Lego Lord of the Rings on Vita the last few days. The game looks like shit as it's a 3DS port but very fun and addictive. I've done the story and now working on the collection stuff.

Steve and Returners: A nonGAF friend of mine and me are gonna be trying to get Tower of Babble a few nights this week. We figure even if we try for an hour or so for a few nights it'll give us better odds in getting the EMP/trophy. If you see me playing join up. I know Returners and I had problems trying to connect the other night, It might of been where I was downstairs and I'm normally upstairs. We managed to kill the electro zombie that night but died trying leaving the corn field Anyone know the best strategy after he's dead for 2 people to light the lambs? I've never got that far before lol.

We got the EMP 3 times that night. First time we killed him and died in the fields, 2nd we died as I was trying to invite/messgae Returners to join, and the 3rd time I had a brain fart and took the monkey bombs while trying to get a better gun and it replaced the EMP! We decided to quit for the night then. :)

Yeah I tried that route =/

It said it couldn't ship it to me

I think it wasn't amazon who was selling the copy, maybe that's why

Most amazon internationals don't ship to US, Germany and Italy do, some of the time

I must learn the ways while dealing with a 2 month old. She only gives me 30 minutes during the day.

You'll find a way once you know their personality. For me, I used a snuggly. I remember when my boy was 2 months old, he was always wanting to be held all the time and wanted to be walked around. So, I would put it on, put him in facing out so he can see, walk little laps around the living room, while at the same time, I have the controller in my hands, playing away. Seriously, it worked wonders, cause baby is happy and not crying, wife is content that the baby isn't crying, and I'm content cause both wife and baby are happy and I get to play games as well. Again, you'll soon find the quirks that will keep them content.

AC Revelations is such a bloated game. It has a bloated UI, tons of clutter on the mini-map, and loads of unnecessary side quests. Why couldn't they just copy and paste Assassin's Creed 2's mechanics into a different city every year. I really hate that I have to micro-manage so many things in this game, from the assassin recruits to the stupid tower defense mini-game. And the sword-fighting in this game is soul-suckingly tedious. Thank goodness that Ubisoft Montreal knows how to build compelling worlds. The city in this game is absolutely beautiful (as were the locales in AC2 and AC Brotherhood). The best part of these games bar none is the platforming, scaling through the city buildings and jumping from roof to ledge to a piece of scaffolding, etc...

I've been doing the following:

1) Buy up as many shops as possible.

2) Ignore landmarks, because they cost too much (40k+ coins).

3) Every two shops you purchase, take a break until you can bribe a scribe and get your notoriety down. This is to avoid maxing your notoriety.

If I follow those steps, I could conceivably gather enough money throughout the game to buy all the books AND never have to play the tower defense mini-game ever again, right?
