My policies are not set by accident or whim, and it's obvious that they contributed heavily to the site getting to where it is today. I'm not motivated by greed, so there's no danger of core principles (minimalism, unobtrusive monetization, strict moderation) being changed to capitalize on additional exposure. We'll keep on keeping on.
Also, we have a 64 Xeon core platform with 124 GB ram, with most of the kinks worked out over the last several months, massively overengineered for our typical traffic. We handled Reddit front page and its 26,666 sustained concurrent, so I'm confident in being able to handle the major events for 2013 and scaling to additional cores and hats as necessary.
I just did a fist pump. Not sure why, but I did.
