Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate announced for Wii U/3DS, coming to West, no 3DS online

Boo! I could have sworn it did but I must be thinking of another game or I dreamt it!

Thanks for the replies though.
Been listening too much Podcasts that talk about Japanese demos XD, think you may have got it mixed up with the Soul Sacrifice demo =P

On that note though I hope Capcom wisen up and do a MH4 demo that transfer progresses as well.

that wouldn't have worked well with monster hunter 3g. The first few hours consist of killing bugs and collectiong mushrooms. If that were my first experiences with the game, I probably wouldn't buy it.
It's better to show you some kind of goal to aim for, like for example a sttrong monster which you won't encounter in the game for at least 10 hours. something that makes you want to play the game more.

Nope, on both counts :P. I think it might have been the Cave on Wii U in hindsight.

I'll probably just use the demo to get to grips with weapons that I stupidly didn't try when I played Tri.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the most content-rich Monster Hunter game, with more new monsters to go and (try to) kill, more equipment to craft and amass, and a pile of other checks and balances to further hone the game.

Sven on the digital release:

We've had approval on all versions for quite some time. That's not the issue. We just don't have NOAs prop schedule 100% confirmed. I'm expecting day one, but I'm not prepared to guarantee it. That's the issue.

Not to be a hardware begger, but why oh why isn't NOA releasing that 3dsxl bundle here!! It's what I've been holding back for, darn you Nintendo!!! * shakes fist/pouts in a corner*

my god thay can't play at all :p

Actually Yuri can play very well, you can see him playing on the Capcom Unity streams every week. But he's playing while using a weapon he doesn't normally use while giving an interview. That's... kind of hard. :P

Old news? http://www.capcom-unity.com/dubindoh/blog/2013/02/15/mh3u-pre-order-deal-from-amazon-saves-you-20
EDIT: Beaten, I guess so!

Save $20 when you pre-order both versions of the game on Amazon
If you want to get the most out of your Monster Hunter 3 Ultimte experience, you'll want to get both the Wii U and the 3DS version... but that's not the cheapest investment, is it?

Well, to help with that Amazon.com is offering the sweetest of deals: you get US$20 off when you purchase both version of the game!!

NOTE: you must place both versions of the game on the same order to benefit from this deal. So if you already pre-ordered this from Amazon before, please cancel it and pre-order it again. And remember this is a pre-order offering only.

So, 20 bucks, eh? That's enough money to treat yourself to a moderately nice dinner... or get the awesome 3DS (or XL) case.
I was only planning on buying the wii u version, but I might as well, huh? :-/

Australia - Nintendo Australia is on the Hunt for the Ultimate Monster Hunter

Now I'm really going to assume they are going to announce this near launch so they can just get people to buy one before they announce the bundle. Damn you guys.

Given recent developments with Wii U numbers, this would be the perfect time for Nintendo to do a marketing push in the states and EU. It's a great game that allows you to hunt giant monsters with your friends online. If they can get people hyped for Fire Emblem: Awakening, it shouldn't be much harder for a game like this.

Thank goodness I finished Fire Emblem. Nothing but Mon Hun until M&L4 and Animal Crossing.
I wish I could pay $10 for both versions.

And the girl in your avatar (can't remember her name) is one of my favorites, her support conversations are the best, lol!

She has also saved me so many times in battle, God bless her critical hits.

Not sure what NoA has to do with anything, they aren't handling it here. Capcom is doing it themselves for North America. EU and Australia publishing however is being done by those regional Nintendo offices.

Hmm a push for this and LEGO City at the same time...

So I have an OT subtitle in mind but I can't remember if a good one was suggested before...

|OT| No, I'm not going to buy the 3DS version, Capcom. If you think I'm going to, I will simply laugh a thousand laughs. Do you hear that sound? It is the sound of me not buying the 3DS version, and instead I will use that money on food for the sick and elderly, you know, the ones who actually need it and not you, the ones who try to take our money for two versions when one version could suffice for semi-portability. This is the price you have to pay, but I will not let these people die for your greed, they are human beings and I will never let you do this to us!

Glad they're offering a discount if you get both versions. Would jump on if I really felt I'd have time to play the game when I'm not home. There are other games I want to get for the 3DS more since I'm already getting the Wii U version. Said before I might get it and it might be during the summer.

I hope they do something similar on the eShop, but I don't think it's possible yet. :(

Maybe they'll sell MH3U eShop cards with codes for both at $20 less.

Is online setup the same way as Tri? I don't believe I played any Tri with Gaf.

It's integrated with NNID's but the city/room setup seems to be the same as Tri from what I've seen. (Even down to four player rooms, again. =/)

I cannot fucking WAIT for this. It's my first Monster Hunter, and I am getting Wii U version and playing online with a couple of other friends. It's going to be grand (hopefully).

But just wondering. How do people get so much mileage out of this game? What makes it so replayable?

Thank you for placing an order on Capcom Entertainment, Inc..

We have yet to receive payment during the past 3 days, so unfortunately we have had to cancel your order.

Wut? So what did entering my CC info do?

The challenge, improving yourself, and finally forging that last piece of armor you wanted.

You're going to suck in the first few hours. You might wonder why attacking is "unresponsive" while you're swinging a big sword. You might get irritated at the superman pose.

Being a loot whore helps, as do the amazing tales you can share with your friends.

and ofc... the need to play it over and over and over again to get anything done also helps ;)

Well there will always be quests available that will challenge your skills. Going through all the monsters in itself will take a looot of time, as will "finishing" the single player campaign. After that though, more difficult quests with upgraded monsters / more monsters at once etc will be unlocked. And even earlier quests will have entertainment factor revisiting for cutting down on your time, testing out new equipment/weapons you haven't used before and for reaping the rewards. Then there are the endless variations you can come up with for team play.
