you might have your flame shield but that argument is void. since jrpgs can have different setting ( mediaval , sci-fi, steampunk ) and still be Jrpgs , have a "current world " setting doesn't change the fact that they are jrpgs ..The Shin Megami Tensei/Persona series are not real JRPGs and I refuse to call them that. If it takes place in the modern world instead of a medieval, steampunk, fantasy, sci-fi or futuristic world then it ain't a JRPG no matter how hard you try to convince me!
This isn't a controversial opinion , but a missuse of sentences themes.
