P4G is a port. An enhanced port, yes, but not exclusive by any meaningful definition. And Disgaea 3 is also "last year's model", superceded by Disgaea 4. You know, on the PS3 where you can also play Disgaea 3. Where's that port by the way?
Actually I just realised that since both Everybody's Golf and Project Diva have been ported to the PS3 in Japan I now own zero Vita exclusives. Thank goodness for Senran Kagura. Love the device but its library is crap.
The Vita is dead. No hyperbole, no exaggeration. I would encourage anyone who bought into it to sell out now.
I disagree, a system needs exclusives because otherwise people will stick to the systems they already have if they can already play those games. I think that's mostly why Vita and WiiU are underperforming.
They're both being hit by being dedicated handhelds, but one of them is selling below expectations (overseas) while the other one is pretty much dying. I think it's actually a good example - people buy 3DS because it has plenty of games that can't be played anywhere else.3DS is chock full of exclusives and floundering outside of Japan. Obviously doing better than the Vita. The fact is they're both losing sales just by being handheld dedicated gaming platforms.

Remote play didn't exactly make the PSP fly off shelves, why would remote play make Vita suddenly sell?
And yet Nintendo games sell a few million at (near) full price. And yet Angry Birds is one of the few western third party games to sell 500k on 3DS.

Because "Support for all PS4 games" is a pretty big deal compared to "Support for 50 games".
ehh yes exactly.. the FUTURE.. ps3 and Psvita is Present time.. not future.

As somebody pointed out earlier, they said "most" ps4 titles. Not all PS4 titles.
Are people really saying that this device has a bright future because of PS4 remote play? Are you serious? Maybe if the Vita was an 80 dollar ad on for the PS4, but it's a 250 dollar handheld (plus more for memory). To have no new games announced at this point in the life cycle is pathetic.
I love my Vita and all, but it's clear Sony doesn't give two shits about the Vita at the moment. They're only caring about the PS4 and are trying to avoid another PS3-esque launch. Hopefully the Vita becomes a machine for niche Atlus/NIS/XSEED games but I'm not even sure about that anymore.
SCE press release:
this..
I am really confused why some people think remote play is a game changer for Vita. Sorry guys but nobody is buying a Vita for remote play.
Is the PS4 remote play compatibility confirmed to be for every single game? If so, that's a pretty huge deal.
That's their target.
Obviously games that require specific hardware won't work though.

There was a cryptic comment at the top of the press conference about a place for vita in the living room and that we'd hear more about tht iniative later in the year. Whatever that means?
Yeah, the living room thing was just weird. I mean, I don't think anyone bought a handheld so that it could be tethered to their house.
I don't think they want you to have it tethered to your home, more that there is now going to be more reasons to use it at home such as PS4 remote play and they'll probably let you use it as a PS4 remote/controller and other features. They probably picture the Vita sitting on the coffee table as a sort of media control hub for everything PS4.
Remote play didn't exactly make the PSP fly off shelves, why would remote play make Vita suddenly sell?
Remote play on the PSP is the same as remote play on the vita is now. It works with the OS and very few games.
What they were describing last night with the vita being able to remote play *EVERYTHING* on the PS4 is a big deal. It's not OMG we win the handheld market big deal... but it's a very nice feature that anyone who owns a wii U can vouch for. Off tv play is great, especially for older folks with kids, wives, etc.
And that's what I find odd. The device needs to be able to stand on its own or it isn't going to survive. Combining the two together will only appeal to people who already thought a Vita was worth owning. And for them, yes, it could be cool. But it's just not something that will help the device in any major way.
This isn't going to be the same crappy remote play that the PSP had or Vita has currently with the PS3. This is WiiU tablet remote functionality which means any game on the PS4 (with very few restrictions) will play on the Vita with no noticeable input lag. That's f'ing huge. If you don't think that's going to put more Vitas in more peoples' hands, which in turn will get more publishers making games for the Vita, then I don't know what to tell you. I bet there will even be a NA price drop on Vita in conjunction with PS4 Holiday release.
It seems like if they had some sort of tidal wave of game announcements ready to burst, they would have simply done so at Vita Heaven.
I don't understand the argument that Sony had no opportunity to announce Vita games this week.
so what you're saying is the Vita is best as a 250 dollar peripheral for the PS4?
No matter how you dice this, the Vita is dead and this "feature" won't save it.
I'd be beyond pissed investing all that money into the Vita just to see Sony sit back and let it die but then try and sell you on a PS4.
Where did he say that? You're just disingenuous now.
Investing all that money? It cost $200.
The hyperbole in this thread is reaching new levels.
Between PS+ and remote play I know that I'm going to get fantastic use out of my Vita over the next 7-8 years without ever having to buy a single game. I can't say the same about any other gaming device I own.
If you're already on board with PS+ and PS4 then the Vita is one of the absolute best deals in gaming right now.
Its like people are not allowed to discuss poor sales of a system without defense forces being deployed. It's like people aren't allowed to enjoy a struggling system.
