Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Does anyone know if you can sign up for a Playstation Plus account on their website? I'm not getting my Vita until Wednesday, so I may end up missing out on the extra 3 months promotion going on right now if you can't.
You should be able to buy it at the web store.

Top of page - buy Knytt Underground and Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable.

Okay I'm at the 4 hour mark (the trio are all armed now) and P4G has definitely opened up. It's like in Pokemon after you do the first task and they give you Pokeballs.

I'm in two minds about whether or not to leave the voice-acting on or take it off so I can get through it quicker. Also I'm not sure if this is on-topic for this thread but I don't wanna run into spoilers in the IOT.

Keep the voice acting on - it's surprisingly good for a JRPG.

What's the rush?

Downloaded Escape Plan, happy that its only 800MB. Turns out the patch that is supposed to make the game better through button control is 1.4Gigs. :'( Had to delete NFS:MostWanted to fit this in.

I deleted the shit out of PSASBR because of its ridiculously bloated patches.

DOA5+ better be less than 3GB, or else I'll have to go on another deleting spree. It doesn't have much CG, so here's hoping...

Yeah I considered deleting PSASBR but I never use the console version, I only play the vita version since for me its better to just lay down and play it.

Maybe I'll just beat Escape Plan and delete it. 1.4Gig patch...seriously kind of ridiculous. The Vita will end up being like the PS3 and XBOX360 (small HDDs). Sony's going to be drip feeding up with these 32gb cards and then starting next year (maybe even after this summer) they'll up the size on the cards.

What is the general consensus behind Dynasty Warriors Next? Reviews seem a bit gloom.

I bought it as a launch game and was really pleased with it. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is straight up Musou but with some touch controls. It's a far better game than the 3DS Samurai Warriors game that that system launched with. I put plenty of hours into it but ended up selling off the physical cart in hopes of one day just getting it digitally.

The touch controls turned some people off because their are alot of them and they do pop up frequently but I thought they were somewhat fun.

Yeah these huge Vita games are making life tough. I just upgraded to a 32GB card recently and can already tell that it's not going to take long to fill it up. PSASBR is a fantastic Vita game though. I have so much respect for Superbot and Bluepoint for making a 60fps native resolution Vita game that I find to be hugely fun.

DOA5+ is going to have to be a very, very good Vita port to tear me away from PSASBR!

PSASBR is around 2.2 GB digitally with the patches. I swear those 800+ MB patches were designed just to mess with people's heads.

It was 1.3 GB at launch. The idea that a couple useless balancing patches and 2 new characters + 1 new level can double the file size of a game is confounding.

Especially considering that many, MANY people who have the game got it as a digital voucher, so it's not like there's an option to offset some of that space to a cart.

Help me out vita gaf, sound shape or escape plan?

With the patch coming for saving levels offline I say sound shapes! Even though I did enjoy the gritty dark humor of escape plan. But touch controls were a bit frustrating. Haven't tried buttons yet.

They keep adding these dumb minion dlc and costumes that are bloating up the game.

From what I've played so far of Escape Plan, Sound Shapes is my preference. Keep in mind, though, I LOVE Sound Shapes. I'm not very far into Escape Plan and it is really cool. They are two very different games. One is a happy music-based platformer, and one is a sort of dark humor black and white sidescrolling puzzler. Kinda depends on what you're looking for.

Sound Shapes, no contest.

True, but you'd think that the two back-to-back 800 MB patches would add at least 1.6 GB of space to the game.

Am I the only one that really really really really really wants Cave Co. to port some Danmaku games for Vita? Seriously, I'd buy all of them. There's none on the system. :l I've been begging them telepathically since I got my Vita last April.

Cave were developing games for Vita.

Then they canceled them.

you thought they'd charge MSRP for that crap? lol

Says the one regularly stanning for a sub-native res PS2 port. ;)

Been playing the hell out of Zen pinball Star wars Empire Strikes Back table. Holy crap so addicting and good on the Vita. I tried out the other 2 Star Wars tables, wasn't really digging the set up and color schemes. Too easy to lose yourself in the backgrounds and not that great 2nd flipper placements.

Can you guys give some vita case recommendations? I've had my vita since november and have never taken it out of the house

Finally got my vita! I'm in Japan and have decided to get a 32gb card to use with EU PSN (I'm British and am likely to go back eventually) and sign up for PS Plus.

However, I feel very stupid because I really wanted to play LBP, so I went and bought a Japanese copy. I didn't realise it had a bloody online pass, so I can't use any of the online features unless I sign in to a Japanese PSN account. That's not too bad I guess, as I will probably also get a Japanese PSN for PSO2 and some other stuff, but I didn't notice that the digital version of LBP is now on special offer... I guess I'll cut my losses and trade the game back in and buy the digital one. Doh.
