Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

The Vita isn't part of Sony's future? Time to wrap it up guys.
"See the future" was the PS4 reveal tagline.

Not to mention that if Notch were considering Vita for Minecraft, it would've had one by now - Minecraft Pocket has been immensely successful, and would be a great fit on Vita. Microsoft's deal doesn't prevent handheld or mobile releases.

Unless there's some cross-play thing planned, in which case they'd need to develop the PS3 and Vita versions concurrently. In that scenario, hype commence?

The next patch for ToMB is huge.

YES.

YES! YES!

Will it help me get that accursed NUKE trophy?! >_<

I disagree with this. BlazBlue is the superior port here. SFxT is just a terrible game but UMvC is a solid choice.

Blazblue is not superior to anything. They're all phenomenal ports. If you like Blazblue better than SFxT, then that's personal preference... but the ports all hold up. All 4 (err... 5?) fighting game ports I own are competent and representative of the console experience.

Minecraft on ps4 would work so amazingly well, that ram would be fantastic for it, plus with video recording and streaming its paradise for the billions of people who do minecraft stuff in YouTube and twitch...

People mostly watch minecraft stuff on youtube that has cool mods.

Minecraft on PS4 could have mods, possibly. Unreal Tournament 3 had (somewhat janky) mod support on PS3. Sony are more open to stuff like that than MS.

I don't really see mod creators remaking their mods to support it. I agree it could have mods, I'm just not sure it would. UT3 isn't a great comparison since everything was exported from Unreal. I have to assume Minecraft mods would require a lot more work to port, create, and to make sure they don't break the game. Polish isn't really a quality a lot of Minecraft mods have.

Back on February 28th, the PlayStation Vita in Japan saw a price drop from 25,000 yen (Wi-Fi) and 30,000 yen (3G + Wi-Fi) to 19,980 yen ($215USD), while also introducing some new system bundles. These moves were clearly an attempt to increase the Vita’s low sales in Japan, and they definitely worked as the handheld saw sales of 62,543 units from February 25th to March 3rd, over 50,000 more than the previous week.

Not sure if accurate, but I don't see why they would lie on a number like that.
FYI, source is banned. o_O

Pure Chess is classy.

Minecraft could be a system seller for Vita until you realize there's a version on phones.

I don't think it will be a system seller, but will be ridiculously better on the vita than the phones ( just like every game, i guess) and that would be enough to buy it.

there is a version of borderlands on phones as well, that doesn't mean that it's the same quality as the actual thing.

I would hope if they brought minecraft to the vita it would be something like the 360 version and not the pocket version.

Uh, there's a big difference between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands Legends. The same can't be said for Minecraft vs. Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

The two are significantly different. Now please stop throwing the word "system seller" every time a new game comes up for the Vita, the system needs a library of good games and it's great that it's getting another great one.

Anyway, the "Maybe..." pretty much confirms there's a Vita version. They obviously just can't officially announce it yet.

God of War HD says it can't be payed using remote play on my Vita. Is that because only the collection was given the Vita remote play and not the individual downloads?

Picked up Sine Mora and Life of Pixel. I'm enjoying them both! Also just got a Wake Up Club trophy for being 1st 30 times. Is EDF worth it for $29.99? I really wish they put out a demo.

I just jointed the VitaGAF Steam group. I also - ahem - don't have any VitaGAF on my PSN friendslist. PSN ID is adaggerthrough.

Probably won't be on PSN until the next time I'm on non-firewall'd internet, though. D:

If there's anyone here that doesn't have P4G and is on the fence about buying it (and live in the US), I'll donate you my used copy.Hell, since I'm generous, I'll even pay for snail mail via USPS with a padded envelope. I bought a regular copy and also the Solid Gold SE. I'm pretty much done for a while and I'll just crack open the solid gold copy when I go back to platting it (started NG+ and am in September, but burnt out on it for now).

I would rather give it to someone that appreciates it rather than reselling it to a place like EB or some other used game shop that will be ripping me off.

Hmm...I haven't played a JRPG before but I've heard so many good things. Do you think I would like it?

There's only one way to find out! I live in Wisconsin and I promise I'm not a serial killer. I just have a decent amount of disposable income and really love my Vita and want to see others love theirs too. I saw at least one person in the games this generation that blew you away thread (w/e the title) say theirs was P4G.

why not give it a try, and if you don't like it pay the awesome forward to someone else. shipping should only be $3 or so, so it shouldn't be that painful to pay it forward if you don't like it.

oh hey someone else from wisconsin. I'm guessing you aren't around madison like I am, if you are though you should go to geek kon as it's a nice local con that is cheap.

Wow, that's really generous of you! I hope whoever gets it enjoys the game as much as most of VitaGAF does. :o

Well I would love to give it a try! I really appreciate that! Do you want me to just PM you my address?

That's true!

Persona 4G is the first and only JRPG I've played, and in my opinion it's a great game. The story is interesting, and once you begin to understand how the game works, it is a lot of fun (managing time after school, social links, fusing personas, choosing skills, etc.)

I live in Madison as well, East side. I actually work for the state two blocks off the square.

My avatar pic is from the Packers/Minnesnowda playoff game earlier this year.

Oh cool, so someone like me. That gives me hope that I could like it!

hmmm a persona 4 fan who owns a vita that is likely with in 20 miles of me (I'm actually just south west of madison in verona (right near fitchburg in case you don't know the area)) I should get to know you better (as you said you weren't a serial killer).

do you perhaps have steam as this conversation is rather off topic :P?

I've got Persona 4, Hot Shots Golf and MLB 13 installed leaving 7GB free on my card. All I need now is PSO2 and my Vita will be complete. Hope they announce localization soon!
