Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

I can already imagine what they can do to SS case when they release it stateside.

lol.

This is pure awesome, well done.

-Chronovolt
-Unit 13
-Persona 3 Portable
-Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
-Retro City Rampage
-Little Deviants
-Silent Hill: Book of Memories
-Reality Fighters
-Ragnarok Odyssey

All are bad games, avoid them at all costs.

Playing the demo for Project Diva f.

This is pretty fun. Why can't a game like this get localized?

Because bigger game companies have bigger sales expectations.

A tiny company can bring over something obscure like Eliminage (which by the way is apparently getting a patch), AKSYS can put out that Hakuoki stuff, because they don't have huge expectations. They just want to make enough to stay in business.

ehhhhh I can download their SDK for free, create a game, pay 100$, and get my game released on their platform...thats pretty open..

vita psm.... not so much. 1500$ for the SDK alone. they dont even listen to you if you havent developed games before.

PSM is pretty much like iOS. It's $100 too.

I'm thinking about getting it. But I already stretched my limit for my game budget this month already. So I too would like some impression.

This. This needs to be a thing because MURICA.

PSM has a significantly smaller audience than the App Store and none of the advantages (trophies, marketing, etc.) of a PSN title. I don't know know why any developer would want to turn to PSM over iOS, to be honest.

PSM is more like the XBLIG program than iOS. Well, not even that - you are developing for a "virtual machine" with specs closer to the PSP than Vita (other than the screen resolution, obviously).

And sales wise, you're looking at 1,000 or so for a good game. Life of Pixel, Terrortown, Sixty Second Shooter Deluxe seem to have done around that level.

i looked around could barely find any documentation on psm devving. so i went to ios. >_< hah!

but yeah you still need a 1500$ dev kit last i heard.... i dunno what ur saying costs 100 - you mean to publish?

if u have a link to any info i'd love to see because im interested, and cant find a lick of info.

It's free to download and develop on your PC. You need to pay $100 to publish and test on device.

For solo play most definitely BB

and it wont let me join the group!

EDIT: works now

Apparently your reading comprehension level is not so good. That wasn't an option. :P

Between Street Fighter x Tekken and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which is better for solo play? I already own BlazBlue and Mortal Kombat. Haven't played any other mainstream fighters since Tekken 3 and SFA3 on PSOne.

Off-topic: everybody join the VitaGAF Steam group! :)

UMvC3 is probably more accessible and has a lower learning curve. I think the inclusion of H&H mode would make it preferable to SFxT.

As onemic said, BB (and MK9) are the better single player games.

So should I buy the God of War PSP games as they are on sale on EU PSN store? I never had a PSP, and I have only played a few levels of one of the PS2 games

They're good games, but if you have a PS3, I'd suggest finding a copy of the God of War Saga with all 5 games instead.

I can already imagine what they can do to SS case when they release it stateside.

I'm totally in for 12 of those!

OK VitaGAF, who is going to kick my ass in Pure Chess, besides, Toma?!

COOL, so fucking cool!

I wonder why their level are always 10/10 though... is that really the limit?
20 levels total was the limit in the demo, although you can spread the levels in any way you want IIRC. The build they used for the stream was probably meant to be balanced.

Hey Vitabros. I need some help. Should I buy:

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 +
(I've never played this game. I heard about the bad framerate but is it still an enjoyable experience? I can still enjoy a great game with some FPS issues as long as it's a...great game. I have Sigma 1 and really enjoyed it. )

OR

Sly 4: Thieves in Time
(I've never played a Sly game but I really like (good) platformers. The Cross-play means nothing to me, I would only be playing on Vita, but i'd still get both juuuuuuust in case.)

I just need a new game to bring me back to my Vita. Since I got my Galaxy Note 2, I've been playing all sorts of great mobile stuff (with a dualshock), and even streaming PC games to it, but picking up the Vita again feels so good. But i want somethin fresh. So ya, what say you vitabroski's??

I'd actually disagree with the fact that UMvC3 is an easier game, unless you set the game to stylish mode it will probably be the hardest of the three based on how fast you need to input motions and such, unless you're already a veteran pad player. The way the Vita conforms to your hands makes those motions harder to do as accurately and fast compared to the dualshock even though the Vita has the better dpad.

It does have a lower learning curve if all you're going to do are magic series combos though.

Sly 4 IMO. Love that game.

Are you saying UMvC3 is more difficult to play than SFxT on Vita?

My personal experience says otherwise. I can't do anything stylish or fancy in SFxT because I'm unable to use L or R effectually for whatever button I have mapped to them.

Meanwhile, I had about 0 problems pulling off my standard combos (which aren't super advanced, mind you) for UMvC3 once I got used to the small face buttons.

Indeed. Unit 13 doesn't belong there. And SH might not either... the demo seemed okay, but nothing I was going to pay $40 for. I'd check it out for $10, maybe $15.

So Noi, I hope I made you proud. I pulled the trigger and got BB: CS Extend. I platinum'ed CT, so getting back into BB will be fun :)

I have that game, if you want to play sometime. It's a great port.

Toto has a weird tic, kind of like Touerrets, where he always calls P3P a bad game.

Don't call it out, it makes him embarrassed.

Sorry Toto, he didn't know.

:(

P3P it's a GREAT game... I finished P4G two times and then finished P3P... and now I'm thinking about playing both Persona 2 games...

You arrest some criminals yet?

Nope, and now I have to get some Wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow... then I have Jury Duty on Monday and Tuesday.

I'm having a great streak of luck.

Assholes took it at my weakest moment.

I will find them.

P3:FES > P3P for first time buyers. If you've played P3:FES and want more P3, then P3P is the way to go.

Lets this discussion end now!

I can second Ragnarok Odyssey as being a terrible game. A shame because it was one I was really looking forward to. It was beyond disappointing.

Persona 4 is amazing though!

Can anyone tell me how I can check what space remains on my memory card? Is it possible to do so on the Vita itself?

SLY 4 - people were reporting shit ass FPS with NGS i believe.

Thanks! 8 GB goes so fast.. sigh. Dunno if I'll end up getting to play Uncharted by the time my PSN sub runs out. Not sure how much longer it'll last. Finally playing Gravity Rush and digging it.

resub? get 10$ back.

Why all the hate for Ragnarok Odyssey? It's a little overpriced at the moment, but it is easily the Vita game I've dumped the most time into. If you have Vita friends IRL, it's the best local co-op game on the system, and a decent short-burst grinder.

Sure, Soul Sacrifice may render it redundant, but still. It's a lot of fun.

I might have just pulled the trigger on a 150 dollar SECOND White Vita. Cowboom.com has a few white ones at that price. ShHHh. just got Tax return and .. *dont tell my wife*

o_0 Need the white one.
