One month from today: BioShock Infinite

Hey maybe you guys can help me out and give me some info. First off i know, i should have but I have yet to play any Bioshock game, so with that being said i right now have it reserved for the 360 bc i really like the 360 controller for FPS but i just found out that the PS3 version will have a free copy of Bishock 1 and will have move support. So since i've never played any of them before dont know exactly which one i'd like and if i'd like playing it on the PS3 or not. So if anyone can help me out and give me their opinion to help me decide ill really appreciate it :)

That image is misleading. Right now, it's 70 percent the way to getting the Team Fortress 2 stuff unlocked for preorders.

It's no free copy of X-COM, though...

I love kickstarter and crowdfunding, but why have Valve adopted it.

I'm starting to hate it outside of projects, and it's seeping into too many other industries.

New preview

Me getting the game itself is yet another compliment I can give Bioshock Infinite, I didn't get the other Bioshock games on release. I played them at friends' houses and discussed them with my peers and them after sometime I would the purchase the titles on various deals or price reductions and after playing them I could accept that they were good games and worth the money I paid. In Infinites case after returning home I went online and immediately pre-ordered the game because I really want to know what is going on in Columbia.

Go with the PS3 version then. The first Bioshock is great and there's no multiplayer in either game so you're not missing out if you're mostly online with the 360.

Thanks for the advice, but how does the game play with the PS3 controller since its a FPS? I knew it didnt have multiplayer (which is really disappointing ) but i still ordered it on 360 just bc i figured the controller would be better to play with. I mean im prob never gonna even use the Move tbh and dont know if ill ever have time to get around to playing 1. So it really just comes down to which system will play it better and which controller is better to use for it.

Just putting it out there.

If you order it on GMG, you get a copy of Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2, and Infinite all for $45.

Great deal, you get the entire Bioshock series in one shots, and for cheaper than the console versions.

Also a great way to start your Steam library with some solid games.

They all run on Unreal Engine 3, which can run on just about any toaster.

Bonus points if you pick up System Shock 2 on GoG or Steam (when it releases on that platform) and then you have the whole collection.

* Be warned that Bioshock 1 has issues on PC to this day. The fov is still broken, and you need to disable 6 lines in 2 seperate .ini files to get rid if mouse acceleration.

Good to know, was about to jump on this deal but hearing this, I will keep my xbox 360 pre-order.

Under three weeks now... it feels strange. I've been on a blackout since the very first 10+ minute video they did two years ago, and now it's knocking on my door.

If the Bioshock Infinite preorders fills ~8.9% each day, then the meter will make it in time to unlock tier 3.

Except the preorders are going to ramp up once the game's release gets closer. Hype will build, ads will start running - and more people will preorder. So expecting 9% every day is a bit unrealistic.

No game Steam has ever run this promotion with has failed to unlock all three tiers. Frankly I'd be surprised if Steam let this fail to hit 100%. The backlash would be crippling for them.

Yes it would hurt the business model as a whole.

Interesting side point here, keep your eye on Defiance http://store.steampowered.com/app/224600/

Pre orders started over 48 hours ago and it just barely reached 4%. In my opinion it seems to have pretty poor reward tiers and almost zero hype as well. It hasn't even scratched the top 20 sellers.

Good one to watch because it will definitively prove whether they are rigged by Valve or not, at least as close to proof as we will ever get.

If my PC could play Infinite then i would most definitely have done that or at least gotten the PC version. Believe me i know PC versions usually are always far superior. Buy my desktop sucks and cant play most of the new stuff. But that deal also doesn't give you any pre-order or w.e bonuses just the 2 other games so ehh. But ya anyway thats why i was asking about it for consoles bc i can only play the console version :( but thanks for the help anyway.

^if that's really 360 gameplay then it's not bad at all. I really wish I've never seen the intro though. The introduction to the Bioshock games are cool.

Sup guys. 19 more days!

It's a bunch of previously released footage cobbled together and as such there's no reason to think it's from the 360 version.

I may be misremembering, but didn't the newest Painkiller game fail to reach tier 3?

to get the tier 3 reward do I need to pre-order now or if it hits the tier 3 mark and then I pre-order am I still eligible?

I want to play through the first two but I'm worried I'm going to be burned out by the time Infinite drops.

Don't do it. You will burn yourself out.

I'm not playing any shooters until Bioshock Infinite releases. I actually haven't played any shooters this year, so I will be ready.

That was all PC version.

The only thing they've 'learned' is over 20% of their revenue is now generated through the PC. That is not far behind each of the consoles, and that revenue is growing while the other two are falling.

And they have 'learned' that PC gamers tend to support good ports with our wallet and bad one through piracy.

Just got approved for my vacation from the 26th to the 29th!

Shit just got real

hype hype hype hype hype

Seriously pro.

My Spring Break is the 25th-31st!!

Don't kid yourself that was quite clearly PC footage. Of course the game will look just fine on consoles.

Weird thing to cop an attitude about, and a weird way to express it. So basically they "only" learned that they should put more effort into a PC version? And now we get a great PC version and you're complaining about why?

Hopefully FartofWar can answer this, but do those numbered combat trophies stack through multiple playthroughs or is it entirely possible to get all of those types of kills in one run?

Trophies/Achievements like this usually accumulate across playthroughs. I think it's fair to make that assumption until we hear otherwise.

Just finished up BioShock 2. Enjoyed it, while not as much as the first. The original BioShock is my favorite game of this gen, and I can't wait for Infinite.
