I wish the west got a Soul Sacrifice double pack. I'd split the cost with my brother since we both want it.

Alas, double packs (with cooler cover art) seem to a be a Japan-only thing. :(

EDIT: Top of the page -

- Buy MLB 13 The Show for slightly improved baseball.
- Buy DOA5+ for 'touch fighting'.
- Import Soul Sacrifice if you're super impatient and read Japanese.

Man, wish I had seen that $50 32GB Vita card deal at AT&T yesterday. Gone now.

Course, then I look at my Amazon order history and see this:

What's the story behind this? :o

What's the story behind this? :o

Basically, Lasership is incompetent and Amazon needs to stop using them.

I had a Vita card shipped to a friend's house. The two day shipping time for Amazon Prime came and went, and no package; tracking actually stated that they couldn't find his house. I called Amazon and got Lasership's contact information to call them directly... and ended up actually giving them directions to my friend's house over the phone, even though it's nothing you can't find on Google Maps. The next day, the package shows up as "Delivered" in tracking, but the package didn't actually show up at his house. Amazon declared it lost at that point and overnighted another one, which arrived without incident (despite also being shipped via Lasership...)

To this day, whenever I check Amazon to see how much that 32 GB card actually cost, the one they overnighted is the one that shows up instead. I'd laugh if it wasn't such an ordeal.

*gets the brilliant idea of checking japanese twitter to see if the vita is getting talked about... doesn't read japanese so google searches the japanese phrases.... finds out that 5 of the 10 things are baseball related, 1 is yen price related, and no clue on the other 4 but they don't seem vita related*

the japanese seem to really love baseball lol.

Team beat Taiwan in World baseball classic. Came back after being down to last out.

Wow, is the US gonna get a demo?

I don't think there was a post on the US blog, but I should imagine so.

Also worth noting the EU blog doesn't list the Japanese V/O as a pre-order bonus, so either it's not included at all in EU or we just get it included in the game anyway. The latter would probably cause some rage, haha.

I picked it up last night after avoiding it due to gaf comments, but I'm quite pleased with the game so far. I like the idea of a difficult procedurally generated shmup with permanent ship upgrades. Much less methodical than your typical shmup, but it's fun seeing how far you can get with each upgrade.

EDIT: Also I like supporting games with cross-buy/cross-save/stereo3D

seems like I should just get it then.
and dang... Sine Mora is sweet (and getting difficult)

I'm on Stage VI Tira now

Is Unchained Blades a decent crawler? Opinions seem very split on it but it looks nice.

Edit: I guess I should say, Unchained Blades or Class of Heroes 1 while waiting for 2?

So whats included in the SS double pack?

So whats included in the SS double pack?

You get two copies of the game with special covers, at a cheaper price than buying two separately. You could go splitsies with someone on a double pack and save a bit of money + have someone to play co-op with!

Won't happen anywhere but Japan, though.

There were also double packs available for EDF Portable 2017 in Japan too, and probably more games I can't think of.

Interesting tidbit from starlight inception news

some asked;
Looking forward to seeing more on the Vita front, any idea if the game is going to run at the system's native resolution?

the answer?

Most Vita titles are slight upconverts to sustain a better framerate - we'll be evaluatiing this within our optimization phase closer to shipping time

The post about Soul Sacrifice cover art, demo and pre-order bonuses from today was posted on the EU PS Blog, so yes. :P

I'm still waiting for Amazon to put up their product page for it...
It says participating retailers, so I wasn't sure if they were just waiting until they release the price. I'll wait for now anyway.

Unchained blades is quite good, and I have heard you do not need to have experience with CoH1 to fully enjoy CoH2.

Oh and get the psp version, after having played the 3DS version, I prefer it on psp/Vita.

Dude. Lasership is ass. They use them all the time for my orders.
Basically a random person in their sedan and plain clothes just tosses your package on your steps and doesn't even knock.

That is, if you GET your order.

Yea... that statement kind of sounded like "No... it isn't native res. But that might make you unhappy, so it could be!"

Yeah. Of course, at one point I asked Just Add Water if Stranger's Wrath was going to be native res, and they said it wasn't and they weren't sure if they could get it that way without affecting framerate. However, through optimizations, they actually did get it native by the time the game released.

So who knows.

any list for this?

Not that I now of, but I went through the games list a few weeks back and the majority were native, since I tend to keep track of Vita games and know whether they're native res or not.

Yea I remember the Stranger's Wrath thing, just seems strange to point and exclaim how other games aren't native res when that question gets asked.

I know it isn't Vita related but is anyone playing the Neverwinter beta this weekend?

Yeah, it's definitely not native res at the moment at least. That could be gathered from his non-answer. Hopefully that will change, however.

Also, Toto, I did a quick count-up, and there are 77 native res games and 23 sub-native res games (possibly give or take a few that I wasn't 100% sure of). Of course, of the "AAA" games, the bigger majority may be sub-native unfortunately, but the fact remains that that vast majority of Vita games are indeed native res.

you know, I should have known that as I am rooting for Japan to repeat again, but i was tired this morning lol.

anyways the big release for next week would seem to be Steins;Gate, i know the anime is well rated, and that the visual novel is held in high regard, but how popular is the game in general? Aka would it be possible to see 100k sales on the game for the vita?

Thanks for your effort.

well since only big publishers/AAA games actually counts and that what represent the system( and not the 2D/games from no names guys) I'd say on Vita the majority of games are non-native res.

Went through the PS Vita Games list on the Vita PS Store.

Wait. Did I miss something? How do only AAA games count? How does that make any sense?

"I was just presented with a fact that doesn't suit my argument, let me fudge it a bit to try and make it still work."

Also, some Soul Sacrifice Impressions I figured I would share:

Good news for importers, 45 minutes in and it is easy to understand what to do. Even inverted the controls.

BTW, the gameplay is super fun and the soundtrack is fucking amazing.

(second post from this AM)

Put in another 30 minutes before bed last night. They are slowly increasing the difficulty curve. So far so good making sure I am not rushing my battles.

It is weird to describe, but the best way I can do it is that most of the attacks are EPIC. The charge up animations are really cool.

And I have second copy if anyone from the states wants it early. ALso looks like the English subtitles will be available for the JP version when it comes out (as there is a language option that is not used in the menu right now)

I'm not even sure what argument he's trying to make. The more taxing games (i.e. "AAA" games) don't all run at native resolution. Isn't it the same for consoles?

It's acceptable, except in games like NGS2+ where the framerate is shit despite the neutered IQ.

do you sense the strategy or do you just run in and spam attacks?

I also got DLC codes with my double pack last night.

I will when I get back to the states on Wednesday. my PSN is KevinLarrabee
Okay I will add you.
jealous.

i'd love to hear some impressions.

Heckmanimation got a 5 off coupon from Play Asia if you wanna import a copy? I have no patience plus ill learn about the story from the online guide, maybe pick up NA copy in may, I will give a few impressions when i start it up.

Yeah, in the initial section of the game you have an AI partner that kind of shows you how to attach. And after about 2-3 minutes you get a good idea on the boss'/enemy's patterns.

So the cool thing, and thankfully easy to implement, loadout structure allows you to strategize your attacking style. So I will start with some long range stuff until I see some of the patterns, then when I feel more comfortable I will go in with some melee attacks.

Also from the start of the game you get healing and blocking abilities, so you have room for trial and error.

Are you playing on your NA account? what level have you gotten to and what side are you leaning toward?
