Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Really vague comment, so I apologise.

Basically I've bought a Vita recently and have PSN plus and apart from the free PSN Plus games (Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048 and Uncharted) I don't have anything else. I'm thinking of getting Most Wanted.

I'm from the UK and was wondering what games are the 'must have games, or deals I should take advantage of via PSN PLUS. I'm interested in the whole selection, PSP and PS1 games included. Thanks in advance and sorry again!

Both god of war games are currently in sale for 2.87 each with plus.

Easily worth it

Still a loooong way to go before the release of that one. So not surprised to hear nothing so early.

But we did get new info/footage for Tearaway tho. On the same week we got Killzone Merc details. Gametrailers even had an exclusive look at a new level or something

Get Persona 4 Golden.

Never played any of the Persona games (I know I know!) so would this be a good place to start? I okay with getting into stories and what not and I've always been good at becoming familiar with game worlds and getting myself immersed in them even if I'm jumping half way (a skill gained form viewing lots of anime I guess lol.)

But if it would be doing disservice for the game, I'd rather play it properly!

I was thinking of getting them, played them on the PSP and enjoyed them a lot. Does the experience of PSP/PS1 games convert well to the PS Vita? Thanks

you don't need to play any previous Persona game to get into Persona 4 Golden.

and please avoid P3P, it's a very very bad port.

Oh yeah and Lumines is free on PS+ in the UK (elsewhere too?) Guessing I should play it? Never played any games in the series.

You can use your Japanese account, but unforunately if you switch to your US account you wont be able to use your Japanese purchases, you've either got to stick with one or alternate between them both. You can still play Japanese retail games on your US account though.

Damn it. So I guess theres no reason to get hyped for guilty Gear accent core plus r then.

Persona 3 and 4 are set in the same universe, but their stories aren't connected at all besides a few subtle references. You should be fine.

It's free, why wouldn't you? :D

Haha yeah, I guess the 8GB card is making me consider even missing out on free games, damn it!

Is transferring content from one memory card to another easy? I'm guessing PSN+ with the cloud saves helps? Would I have to dump my games on my PS3 and then transfer over? I might get a 16GB or 32GB in the future!

already have it, chump

Yeah, it's relatively pain-free. You make sure to sync your trophies and backup any saves to the cloud, then backup everything to either a PC or a PS3. Then you restore it back to the bigger card, and everything should be fine. And yeah, you should definitely consider a bigger card. I'm one of the few people who says you don't need a massive card to survive, but at least having a 16gb goes a long way to making things easier. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to switch between accounts and do things like, say, download demos from the Japanese store and stuff. :)

Using the Content Manager Assistant you can back up your entire Vita, saves and all, to a PC or laptop, then restore to your new card. It's dead easy.

I can access the Japanese store o_0 What kind of wizardry is this? 3DS dun goofed me up!

Whoa what? P4G has some of the best english voice acting for a game.

I didn't said they were bad in P4G or anything, hell I think Chie new voice is better than the old one and even match the Japanese one (if not superior), I just meant in general for games I'd prefer the original Japanese track.

Technically, yeah. If you have a second memory card, you can use one for your main account and one for an account that is in a different region, meaning you can get access to the content on that region's store. You can't, however, cross them over between memory cards.

Switching cards is a bit of a hassle, so it's kind of annoying if you want to do it regularly. There's a guide in the thread OP.

So not only is Totobeni an elitist with intensely controversial opinions on games, he's also a weaboo? I guess that falls hand in hand with each other.

Definitely USA, not sure about what the EU games are for PS+ this month. I think they're geting DoA5 for PS3 though, not sure what else.

We already got DOA5 in the UK, I think we're getting MGS HD collection on Vita in a few days.

Hello fellow GAFfers, sorry if this is not the right thread but today I got a PS Vita and I'm very happy. I was going to buy it new. My plan was to get just the Vita on my local GAME Store and then the Memory Card on another Store however they only had the Call of Duty Pack or Resistance pack with a 4GB Memory card so I got (for the first time Hardware related) a used Vita.

I'm friend with the owner and he can be trusted so I made the jump. I algo a 16GB since I do not have the 32GB in here and it only cost me 20€ (I could say how much my VITA cost me with my Store credit but you guys wouldn't believe it).

I have now a long PS Plus Backlog. Downloading Gravity Rush as my main game and will download others too.

Curious about Persona 4 since I've been looking for a game with some Story and the Uncharted Cards game.

I have no Traveling case for my Vita or any other Accessories so I will search this thread a bit for that info.

---

To finish (sorry for the long text wall) just a curiosity, this is my second Portable Console, ever. My first was a Silver Game Boy Pocket back in the day. I've been a Home Console mostly and I'm happy for being back after so many years.

Thanks for reading fellow GAFfers!

Monk! This is exactly the right tread, nice to see you jumped on the Vita wagon! Knowing your situation with money, I'm sure you got a killer deal. :P

You should definitely look into getting a case and a screen protector to go along with it, and if you're looking for a game with a good story and that will last you a long time, TOTALLY go for P4G. Great game and lasts a long time.

Thank you fellow GAFfer. ;)

In the end
It cost me 0.65€ 65 Cents.

The reason was... I traded some PS3 & 360 games but for my big surprise they gave way much Store Credit then I was thinking. Some examples: I purchased a game for 20€ 4 months ago and today they game me 23€ for it. (I have no idea why)

Thank you kind GAFfer Heaper! Yes, situation been a bit better but sometimes taking care of family gets very time demanding (more than money demanding). But thanks for your words. :) I will check a Case on Amazon.uk and on my local stores since I've clueless about all the Accessories in the Stores. P4G seems a wise choice too! Can't wait to get my first non-Ps Plus game.

It's worth much more than that. At $13 it's a steal!

I dunno if it were $10 I'd def. get it, the visual presentation really sold it on me and the simple gameplay albeit tedious at times due to my improper positioning of the cubes, is addictive, especially when blocks start disappearing.

No, you buy Rayman Origins. Buy it.

Lumines > Rayman Origins. Electronic Symphony is so good I still play it. Broke 1,000,000+ last night without avatar powers finally and I'm still not done. I shelved Rayman Origins on the PS3 long ago (after completing it of course).

Get it for 13$, like seriously. Its addicting happiness in blocks.

Lumines is so bought! Been waiting for the sub $15 price point since the Vita's launch and it is finally a year later happening.

Are any of the PSP Ubisoft games that are on sale worth it?
