Can someone please tell me who this angel is? I asked in the original thread (porn stars pre/post make-up) but that thread appears to be on its last leg today so I figured I could cast my net wider with this thread too and maybe get a catch.

If you click on the link in the original thread it has all the pictures and their names. Anyway =P

With no max bet you can make sure you always come out on top with the following system:

1. Bet $1 on red or black. If you win, stop playing. Congratulations! You have won $1. Make sure you never gamble again. If you lose, goto step 2.
2. Bet $2. If you win you will have a net profit of $1. Congratulations!
3. You lost again? Bet $4. If you win you will again have a net profit of $1.

Repeat until you win once. If you're a rich man you can replace $1 with any other number.
Yes, this is exactly where I was coming from. As long as the maximum bet is >~$20,000 ish then I figure you can make a decent living off roulette.

Oh yeah, I explained that in the thread but not here. The link was never working for me regardless of comp that I tried it on. Thanks a lot though!

This is what I was saying though. One bad run and the casino recoups all of its losses from you. You lose 6 or 7 in a row and that next bet looks pretty daunting. You might not be able to take it.

Yeah you are right, you absolutely need high capital and balls, plus the higher you go, the higher the max bet would have to be. I'm not sure how much those tend to be (In Vegas for example) but the movies make it seem pretty high.

It's called "chasing the loss." I had a friend who used to play like that. Won big sometimes, but also lost everything when he couldn't afford that final 2X bet.

I'm trying to find some details of a serious crime which happened in the mid 90's. I believe I witnessed something that day but was scared to say something at the time due to the nature of it. The internet throws nothing up outside of sentencing and appeal clippings from years ago.

For personal reasons I do not trust the police with this (admittedly flaky) information, nor do I want to risk my family getting involved in any way.

Are there any forums that would take this seriously and help me deal with it or should I contact a local newspaper?

Don't know of any specific forums but make a thread and put DetectiveGAF on the case.

I was raised in Vegas so when I go home to visit family I play at local casinos where the max bets are considerably lower but, on the games I play, the odds are better for me. Ceaser's Palace is a good place to gauge what the higher end max bets are. The "VIP" roulette rooms there had a max bet of 20k last time I was in.

I've done this a total of 2 times. First time it worked like a charm, second time put me in debt (which I'm clear from now thankfully) its always better to just realise your loss, accept it, and try again tomorrow/next week/month/year etc.

Okay, I'm downloading a movie from piratebay in my home. Downloading from that site on my campus is blocked. My download isn't finish and I would rather be in my dorm right now. Since the download has already started, will it continue in my dorm?

If just the site is blocked but torrent traffic isn't then it should be fine.

Oh, OK.

You meet someone with whom you are compatible with romantically and after a few dates, they invite you over to their house.

Prior to this, a friend of yours tells you that to truly know what a person is like, you have to look inside their fridge. Whether it's orderly, messy, all-natural items, Etc. determines various aspects of their character. Once at the date's house, either against your better judgement or in-line with who you are, you glance inside their fridge when they step out of the room, saying they'll be right back.

It is completely empty except for a plate with a perfect Jello cube sitting on it. Inside the very center of that cube is a mouse.

What do you do?

Personally I think all the sayings are rubbish, you seem to like this person no matter whats in there fridge.. You are going out with her not the fridge. Don't read into it to much.

Does every audio receiver made in the last decade have audio lag/sync adjustment functionality?

I have a Sony home theatre in a box dealio that's done me well all these years. I've only recently become aware that its a couple milliseconds off or something. Only really apparent for some action shows, etc.

This is the model and the manual; can anyone help me determine if this receiver has the option for adjustment and how to use it? Can't find it for my life. Thanks.

So, I threw my phone at a wall because I was mad. I'm assuming it's broken now. When it turn it on, the screen lights up and sounds go off, but nothing is being displayed. It's just black. My phone is an Exhibit II.

Any chance I can salvage it?

Maybe if just the screen is broken, then you could order a replacement screen from eBay. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

The screen isn't cracked or anything, but that may be it. There's no way I could dismantle the phone and fix it that way? I don't think I can really wait that long.

Alright, so my girlfriend has no insurance and to make it worse, really bad asthma. She can't walk for long, can't run, can't hustle up steps, and can't work out unless she has Advair. She also has spasms of the lung in which she immediately loses all her breath and can not gain it back without going to the hospital where she is given Prednisone. After being in the hospital the 3rd time this year, im wondering what I can do.

After geting it priced out buy Rite-Aid, the total for Advair Uninsured is $291.71 for a diskus (1-Month Supply). She was denied by every insurance she tried to apply to because she cant afford it or "makes too much money". Is there anything we can look into to get the price down on prescriptions, mainly Advair but her Ventolin (A rescue inhaler) cost anywhere from $50 to $70 depending what prescription she gets from the hospital.

She tried calling GlaxoSmithKline and seeing if she qualified for their reduced price/free Advair and they denied her also.

Maaaaaybe. I had something similiar happen to a DSi where all that was wrong was a loosened connector (no idea how that happened). You could try but if you're in a hurry (and the phone is still under warranty) I would just go to the shop you bought it from and get a lender while they fix it.

Are you asking for you? It depends, really. Some people look good in them and others don't. I, personally, don't like them but I do think some people pull them off.

Yeah, my current pair of glasses are bent to the point of looking ridiculous. I really like the style of the square lens, but people seem to have a vitriolic reaction to anything vaguely hipster. Normally I wouldn't care about it, but I'm looking for a new job so I'd like to keep up a good appearance.

I am using the iCloud Tracking feature--now when I track said person's phone, will they know? Does it give them a notification saying they're currently be tracked?

Do most people like or dislike square-shaped lenses, aka "hipster glasses"?

I didn't know they were considered hipster but I dont think many people pull them off well. I generally think the people wearing them look 'stuffy' .. like Swedish architects or something. (No offense to any Swedish architects reading GAF - I love Sweden and buildings)

Could someone recommend me a good version of the Marco Polo travels. I want to get one with illustrations that isn't too expensive. The only one on amazon has no reviews.

I can vouch for this edition (Orion Press edition w/illustrations):

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001238ABA/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I bought a used copy at a local book store. It includes about two dozen illustrations from a 14th century manuscript, in color, most one page but a couple that span two pages. The translation is mid 19th century but very readable if you've ever read anything from that era before. I think I paid like 5 dollars for my copy, and I'd say if you could get a copy between 5 and 10 dollars that would be a good starter version. Just be forewarned there are no annotations or anything like that, so you're on your own when it comes to references to names and places. If you have any questions let me know.

Where is the best place to get stick shift lessons? I don't see any info on it on the MVA site near me. Don't want to mess up my friends' cars either

Try going to a dealership and test driving a manual. If they ask why you're grinding the gears, explain that you are rusty.

I'm thinking about selling my YLOD PS3. Is there a way to erase the HDD or will I just have to take it out and sell it without it?

People, especially around here, have a vitriolic reaction towards hipster because they took the whole geek look and made it look good/cool....as long as it's not an over the top parody of a hipster. Squared glasses that are a bit on the geek side are definitely in right now, if you can pull them off go for it.

Those Amish men who were sent to prison for the beard-cutting attacks on other Amish were allowed keep their beards because of their religion. I remember Nidal Malik Hasan, the military psychiatrist who did the Fort Hood shooting, wasn't allowed to grow his beard for his religion.

Anyone know whether this has to do with individual prison rules?

Okay, thanks for the responses! I think I'll go for it. Hopefully I can pull it off without looking like a goofy Swedish architect :)

Uh no dude don't do this douche move, someone will buy that car eventually and you will never learn how to drive manual in 15 minutes. Try asking a friend or family member or look at driving schools in your area, they usually have lessons.

I don't know anything about individual prison rules. But my gut feeling is that it has more to do with that one is a practicing Muslim while the others are Amish. All religions are equal but some are more equal than others in a court of law.

Either that or because he was in the army and regulations state you can't grow a beard. There was a fuzz about it but I don't remember the details.

I think most people learn on an automatic these days. Or at least that's how I and a lot of people I know did it.
I would guess only a tiny minority of Americans learn to drive a manual these days. I've never learned, which is unfortunate. If only one of my family's fleet of vehicles was a stick... maybe I'll have my friend teach me to drive his Hyundai one of these days.

Is there already or will someone create a Billiards |OT|

*obviously I can't until my account is fixed.
