Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Listening to the Retro city rampage soundtrack on spotify. It's pretty awesome. Now I'm kind of tempted to buy the game..

I really hope the DoA5+ or Soul Sacrifice demo will be out later today. I want something new to play on my Vita, and the sales aren't doing it for me. :/

I haven't played something new on vita since persona 4 in mid january. DJ max is coming tomorrow in the mail <3

IDK guys...

If a game doesn't drastically pick up after the first hour, it gets benched indefinitely. I don't believe in the "oh, make it that 4,5,6th hour and it gets good"

You haven't played P4G, huh? That's a prime example of a game that seriously picks up the pace after 2-3 hours.

Personally, I enjoyed even the first few hours that were very slow, but I can understand why some people wouldn't.

Me too, basically! I've been playing it obsessively since I bought it. I've cleared about 80% of the map. I want to finish all the quests before ringing the bells.

About Cilia:
Have you found her missing "friend" yet? It's heavily implied that she's an ex. Cilia asks what if she never finds somebody and Dora says don't worry, you'll find him. Cilia then says Him? lol

Haven't found that piece yet :P

I wish this game had prettier menus and characters so I could recommend it more.

I'm just waiting for DOA5.

Trying to finish up Persona 4 cause I'm a pretty big DOA fiend. DOA on my couch? DOA on the toilet? DOA on the train? DOA on a plane? Yes, please!

I tried 2 and 3 on PSP, but they were benched. I got to the battles and such but was completely turned off by all the text and the fact the games wants you to talk to all the enemies.

I mean, I really didn't want to talk. I just wanted to kill

Picked up SF x Tekken. Not sure what everyone complains about, I think it's a really fun game. Not to mention it looks great.

No one complains about it anymore. It had a huge update which fixed some issues and seeing as how you got the Vita version you got all the character DLC for free! Its amazing.

Its funny because when the Vita first came out a lot of games got praised and everyone was buying them left and right. But when it came down to it was only because we had nothing to play. TiTS seems to be one of these...

nah :) . tits was released in early 2011, & people were raving about it from the start. the fact that it's on psn (unlike better games like birth by sleep, crisis core, & brave story) has only helped extend its popularity via responses to 'recommend some vita rpgs' posts...

lots of people just plain love it :) ...

Too many, but I don't care for any of the 3D ones if that makes sense to you.

Yeah neither do I. My favorite is Zelda II, which most people can't stand. The only one I really like is Wind Waker and it still has quite the ramp up. Games nowadays seem to have tutorial sequences that last way too long. FF XIII is a prime example.

Oh, oops! I hope I didn't ruin anything for you.

Yeah, they really should have made the menus more accessible. Especially the quests menu! I don't mind the art so much because it has got its own charm, but updated visuals would've been nice.

Has anyone's referrals been updated yet? Mine still say Success - Pending. Wonder whats up with that?
At this point, I'm just hoping I get my credit before Soul Sacrifice is released in the US.

Good choice. I've been playing Hatsune Miku Project Diva f on my Vita almost exclusively since I got it 2 months ago.

It's not my favorite, but i just beat it again like 3 months ago.

Me and Zelda II are cool.

it's all LttP for me though

Sound Shapes update out! Press the update button on the live area.

i'm getting really tired of waiting for motorstorm to come to na psn. it's been over a year.

i may get the ps2 version if this keeps going.

I know, right? I tried that RC bullshit again just to see if it simply didn't click the first time through, but no dice. Give me the good stuff, SCEA.

That must have been 2 then i was referring to

3 and 4 play far, far different from their predecessors, so you should really try them out. I didn't exactly marathon the games but they're definitely worth playing. I played P3 on and off, even started and finished Tales of Vesperia in the middle of my playthrough, and have yet to finish P4 - ended up just waiting for P4G's release and now I'm too sucked into PSO2 to even start it.

Isn't 'Jap' an offensive term?
I played the JPN demo just to get a taste, but considering that (at least some of) the content carries over to the full game, it feels like it would be a waste of time. And spoil the fun of playing the localized demo which should come out..eventually.

I don't remember the specifics, but there was some exact restrictions on how much could carry over, like 10 magics?

They could release the demo at the same time as the game or later and still allow carry-over. It would just only be for people who weren't going to buy it Day 1 in that case :(
Otherwise we're a short wait away.

So I've finally jumped aboard the PS Vita bandwagon after not really having any inclination to ever own one, the impending PS4-Vita remote play connectivity convinced me (If I can play "Off-TV" PS4 games correctly while the wife watches TV this thing is worth it for that alone!!), so what have I missed?

I owned a PSP many years ago, but haven't kept up with all things Vita. Also, since I got my Vita used (excellent condition w/ a 4GB mem card, charger/usb ect... for $136 shipped!!!!), I don't have the original manual/default things for reference. Any tips/tricks that I absolutely should/need to know? Top conscious Vita games? Are all former PSP games playable on this thing? I never got around to playing Metal Gear Ac!d 2 on the PSP and would love to be able to buy & play that on the Vita. Thanks!

Playing quick play versus mode right now. Was surprised how fast I got a game. Waited 30 seconds for 2 other players to join.

Thank you sir, bought When Vikings Attack. I think I'll get escapeVektor later. I can always come back to that whereas online games have a limited life.

Not all PSP games are supported, but I think any that show up on the Vita's PSN store should be compatible. It'll have a little 'PSVita' bubble under it. The only real trick I've read on here is holding Vol- and Vol+ mutes it.

I imagine the best bet is picking up Persona 4 Golden and a month code for PSN+ (for Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Wipeout 2048 and Ninja Gaiden, I believe). Should only be about $6 if you find a 1-month.

Are any of these good?

From Dust – PlayStation Plus price $7.34; Sale price $10.49
Outland – PlayStation Plus price $4.89; Sale price $6.99
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes – PlayStation Plus price $7.34; Sale price $10.49
Beyond Good & Evil HD – PlayStation Plus price $4.89; Sale price $6.99

RE directors: 299MB
RE2: 767 MB
RE3: 366 MB
GOW-CoO: 1.29 GB
GOW-GoS: 1.09 GB

and wow I didnt know you guys didnt get sizes in store....that seems kinda strange

Thanks very much for that! Going to give all these games a whirl!

It still has some of the sizes on the UK store, you just need to check in the game summary somewhere. It's a shame there's not some kind of standardized information for it, though.

I don't see why memory card prices make a difference..?

Yeah I've looked at both the Vita store and the online Sony entertainment store and I couldn't find anything. Hopefully I'm not just going senile lol :p

As for the memory card comment, sorry for causing an issue, it's just due to the memory cards being so expensive, I've had to settle for a smaller card (8Gb) and if they were cheaper, I'd have a larger card which would mean I wouldn't have to worry as much. Sorry for the derail.

Thanks for the help again :-)

Whats generally accepted as the better psp game on Vita

FF: Tactics or Persona 3

I'll eventually get both I'm sure, but which ones best to consume first
