The Vikings won't announce their starting quarterback until midweek.

Minnesota faces Detroit. With Brooks Bollinger hurt, we would guess that Minnesota will go back to Brad Johnson. Rookie Tarvaris Jackson said he wasn't ready to start an NFL game.

What a loser that T-Jack punk is. After all that talking up from a certain vikings fan we find out he is a total puss. TOO funny.

Vikings need real men on their team. Like Josh Brown! Yeah baby!

The pass to Jason Whitten would have been picked off and run back for a TD if Bledsoe had thrown it.

Anyone could have thrown that pass to witten, demps allowed him to go right by him for an easy catch

Nah, I think he just watched the Dallas/Seattle game and realized that maybe he should take some snaps as a secondary before starting a game.

:lol Colin Cowherd called out the Vick haters for not jumping on Grossman's performace just as hard as they would have if it were Vick.

i just saw Grossman's QB rating from yesterday.

1.3? 1.3?

This is the guy who's supposed to lead the Bears to the promise land?

haha, that begs for a caption, like:

"It's all me, baby"

or

"Who is the fairest kicker of them all?"

Cowherd was cracking jokes about how you at least get a QB Rating of 23 for putting your jersey on right. :lol

Because i dont know if their are the proper words in the english language to describe how bad that performance was. Anything said is not saying enough.

I prefer the caption....

"Who's the man? Who's the man with 4 game winning kicks? Go home and cry Broncos fans! I'm the man! MVP! Yeah that's me!"

True. I don't care who they play in the playoffs, that kind of performance won't get them to the "promised land".

yeah, the other pic has more impact, but this one is funnier. Jables with the finger pointing.

PS: Demeco Ryans is your DROTY. 114 tackles, 97 solos, 3.5 sacks, 1 FR & 1 INT.

I would have to agree. I wish Kiwanuka had been playing all along, but that's what happened with pro-bowl DEs.

Kiwi's got 35 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 ints, 3 passes def'd and 2 FFs. Not bad for a lineman starting only 4 games and spelling in others.

Like I said, throw loopy-armed Pennington on that team and you're looking at a dynasty! :)

:lol since Oct. 15 Rex Grossman has more turnovers than all but one other team in the league (Roffleburger and the Steelers)
That is even worse considering how much better the Bears are than the Steelers this year. Half the time they don't even need to really throw the ball and they can still come away with a W.

Steelers are usually forced into throwing early because of a shitty defense, offensive line, running game, receivers, and special teams.

Yeah, but you didn't take into account that Bledsoe would have been making the pass while falling down because he wouldn't have been able to side step the pass rush.

I thought the qb ratings had minimums and maximums? I thought the minimum was like 28.5 or something wierd.

Yeah, I thought putting on a helmet gave you an automatic 20.0 on the QB rating scale. Did he play so poorly, not even wearing a helmet could have given him a "minimum" rating????

Grossman's QB Rating was 0 for a good portion of Sunday's game... so I guess it's a good thing that it went up? :-/

lol. in the espn.com poll, 57% of voters think Griese should start

and apparently, tommie harris might be out for the season

Ivy and Clayton to return punts for Ravens

The Ravens are going to fill the void left by B.J. Sams in the return game with a committee of sorts.

Undrafted rookie Cory Ross will handle the kickoffs, while the Ravens could rotate nickel back Corey Ivy and starting receiver Mark Clayton on punt returns.

"Mark has been working at it all year long," Billick said. "He will bring a certain element of explosiveness as well. We're getting to the point where that could be very valuable to us."

Billick did express some concern about putting his starting receiver in a position where he could be injured.

"You're getting to the point now where the season has some real definition to it," Billick said. "You're willing to press yourself a little bit more."

Ross had been one of the pleasant surprises during Ravens training camp.

A starting running back at Nebraska, Ross survived the final cuts because of his return ability. He had been inactive for the first 12 games of the season.

"We've been anxious to get Cory up," Billick said. "We have a great deal of faith in what he'll be able to do for us, particularly in kickoff returns."

That would suck so much to lose Tommie Harris. We already lost our secondary captain. The last thing we need is to loser our defensive line leader. It gets even worse when realizing the reason he got injured was that the defense was forced to be out there 39 because of our offensive performance. Now it's even hurting the other side of the ball.

As far as Grossman, he's simply been paralyzed by all the pressure and tips on how to fix his play. A billion ideas and fixes being fed to him, tons of pressure, and thoughts running through his head while playing. As he said, slowing him down and not allowing him to just play football. It's not a matter of a bad game, it's more just a meltdown mentally at the position. It can be fixed, but how many games do you wait?

Personally, I think you put Griese in just to give Grossman a break for a week. You see what you have in Griese. Worse case scenario is he plays too good to pull him back out and you have Lovie's biggest fear in the world, controversy. That's not such a bad thing. I fear going one-and-done much more. If Griese doesn't play well, you start Grossman the next game and tell him to go play football. You don't even really have to make a QB decision until the 2nd week of the playoffs. But to handicap yourself into pretending you didn't sign a 5 million dollar backup for 2 years is just stupid. Obviously a well playing Grossman is our best shot to win, but he doesn't become a non-option if you sit him.

UPDATE: Tommie Harris got an MRI and they're saying a knee sprain. Lovie of course wouldn't clue anyone in on what ligament he strained, but said hopefully we get him back soon. Meaning 3-4 weeks in my guess. Ready for the playoffs.

I think Berman has reached the point in his career where, before when he'd go into his schtick for a player's name, now he just kinda mumbles and puts a random emphasis on syllables.

"Josh Brown for the SEEEEEEEEEEAAA-hawks"

By the way, watching Jason Taylor get faked like a rookie with a pump-fake from Garrard on his scramble was even better the 13523423th time I've seen it. Nice highlights from the Jags game with that scramble, the Matt Jones catches and MJD's absolutely stunning destruction of the Miami defense.:)

haha, wikipedia and that passer rating wiki:

Rex Grossman of the Chicago Bears set the record for the lowest passer rating for a complete game with a mark of 1.3 on December 3, 2006. Incredibly, he amassed these numbers while commanding his team to a 23-13 victory over the even-more hapless Minnesota Vikings. His rating stood at 0.0 after three quarters, but some late-game heroics nudged his rating up a tick.

:lol :lol :D

Only of course that's not even remotely true. Tim Hasselbeck managed to rack up a passer rating of 0.0 (6 of 26 and 4 interceptions) against the Cowboys. Jeff Garcia followed him the next year with 8 of 27 and 3 interceptions). These guys are perfect in their suckitude. Rex Grossman is just a pretender.

So am I the only Eagles fan hoping tonight is a total disaster. The only way we move forward is if we run our obese head coach out of town, and that is gonna take a few more embarrasments. The players have already checked out on Reid and JJs system is old and busted.

No you can start that next week after, beat the Panthers...

No, im sure most of the dumbass home town fans in philly feel the same way.

The only reason i could think of wanting us to lose is to get a better draft pick. Even then id still rather win a game even if its not likely we make the playoffs anyway.

Reid isnt going anywhere, Jim Johnson isnt going anywhere. Oh well.

What we have now is Jeff Garcia. Lets see how is goes (or doesnt go)

Have you seen this team? If our defense by some miracle stepped up last week our offense would have found a way to lose. Thats just the way its been all year. We lost but the offense lookd decent. We lost but the defense played well. We lost but the special teams was great. I am so tired of that crap. Serious ****ing changes need to be made. So much talent is being completly wasted because we have no heart and a coach that is incapable of getting his players up for games.

Edit: I would take the Ray Rhodes era teams over this one any day. At least they played with heart.

So for TheDuce to be sad the Panthers have to lose? *head explodes*

i dont give a **** if we have all the talent in the world, or if we're starting Ryan Leaf, Ron Dayne, and Freddie Mitchell on Offense I dont care how we almost win or lose a game. The Day I WANT a team to beat us for any sort of reason is the day im not an eagles fan anymore.

Thats because your a bandwagon fan. When we're winning your all up in this thread trash talking. We were losing you fade away only to come back talking shit about how we suck so ban and all the problems we have ect. ect. ect. You do the same thing in the NBA thread with the Suns.

The fact is Reid has COMPLETELY lost the team. The only way I see the Eagles getting better is if the decision is made to replace him. I mean even with Mcnabb we were average at best, which is a complete joke given how much talent we have.

Ok from now on ill talk trash when the Eagles suck and fade away when we are winning. Oh wait, thats no fun at all. :)

Also I cant help but notice that all the problems in your tag are related to our coaching issues.

Really? I cant help that:

"I'd rather fail at 4 straight conference title games than win 1 Super Bowl!"

Is one of the big reasons why people dont like you, nor take you seriously.

Why, because I am more entertained when my team is winning, or when I feel like they are playing to their potential? When the Eagles are good I have alot more fun sitting down and watching a game than when they suck. Is that so hard to understand?

We do know about Griese though. He has been in the league 10 years. He is a career journeyman QB.

Bears can't just stick him into a game, just to see what they have, and then pull him out for Rex the next week. If the Bears switch to Griese they need to do it for the rest of the season. But if Griese goes in the Bears are ****ed anyway, because Grieseball is Konex's guy. So in closing I don't care if Grossman has a -5000000000 QB rating for a game, I would rather have him start than a person already guaranteed to be cursed by Konex!!!
