Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

so theres this great bundle on craigslist by me.....

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/vgm/3679634772.html

.........

i dont need the vita.. but i want to ask to buy the card off him... i'd also be willing ot buy some games too even though i've been pretty anti retail with my vita.

thoughts? out of those retail games which is best to own as a cart?

what would be good prices to offer for the games?

edit: i offered 80$ for P4G and the 32gb card.

i've seen this ad for a few days/ weeks so hes either holding out or not selling it and will cave soon.

It's definitely worth a shot I'd say, but I tried making offers to 10 or more people on CL to sell their card from their "bundle" and not a single one would take me up on the offer.

I did wind up getting my 32GB card on CL, but it was from a person who purposely broke up a bundle and was selling each part individually. He had it listed as a 32GB card only and told me about how he was doing it when I went to pick it up from him.

Vita gaf, I need your advice real quick. Just got MGS HD from PS+ and now I have to decide whether to start with that or go back even more and get MGS. Has anyone played MGS on his Vita? Is it still awesome? Btw I've never completed MGS and actually only played it a little bit back in the days, so should I start with that?

Well if you're planning a series playthrough, it does pay to start with the first game.

Life of Pixel is pretty awesome. Finally jumped on and bought it today. Sucks they're having trouble with sales but that's the downside of putting a game on PSM. :\

didn't know this was coming to Vita, I heard it's a complete trash on PC.

good work on destroying the boxart,SCEE

if you weren't so busy looking for every negative thing related to sony on the internet you would know that the EU cover is reversible :P

there is no reason for the plus sticker to be on both sides... heck I wouldn't be surprised if that plus sticker was just on the wrapping on the outer part instead of actually on the case given they showed off the cover without it in that blog post.

Well at least its got a reversible cover

you’ll find the original Japanese artwork, giving you the option to flip the sleeve over and showcase that instead.

what a shitty alternative reversible cover

no thanks, gimme the golden phantom dude with no huge PS+ bubble.

Go ahead, just rub it in more.....

I'd say its good enough that if you only had one memory card, it would be worth backing it up and formatting just to play

Like, I switch back to my american account to play MLB 12 on the way to/from work, but I could easily do without that. I don't play anything else at home unless the servers are down Tuesday night.

But you could also play on PC btw.

Or realize you didn't purchase the game for the box art because you aren't 4 any more...

...and you don't buy Soul Sacrifice for ground textures

box art has never really effected how I felt towards a game... disk art has though lol... unfortuantly the vita has killed pretty much everything about video games I liked (aside of playing and discussing them of course)

no pretty disk
no awesome instruction manual (I often read my ps2 manuals when I am bored, I am not going to start the vita just to read a digital manual... i miss my paper manuals)
and the boxes are so tiny that the back of the game is rarely interesting to read :/

instruction manuals were always that thing you looked at on the way home from the store (assuming you didn't drive). then, something you might look at a week later and say "oh, that would have helped"

i don't look at a single "instruction manual" on the vita

both my wife and myself will still often get a new game in the mail and the first thing we do is open it up and flip through the instructions. The nicer instructions do a great job of introducing stuff like characters or setting often adding small details that aren't in the actual game.

the lack of instruction models is keeping more of my vita games sealed and unplayed... I jump from game to game a lot, but since there isn't any reason to open a vita game unless I am going to play it it stays sealed... and when it's sealed I am less likely to jump to play it because that require me to open it... thus while I own virtues last reward it's still just sitting there on top of my collectors edition, sealed to the watch that came with it... if it had a real instruction manual I likely would have opened it to read about the characters in the game lol.

Senran Kagura has a colored 45 page manual. #masterrace

and if it gets released in NA it won't have a manual at all aside from the digital one because sony of america mandated that games can't have paper manuals (at least that was what either nis or atlus said.. I think it was atlus in regards to persona 4, but it might have been nis in regards to disgaea 3)

I -love- the digital manuals on the Vita. They are actually useful. Instruction manuals for a portable device that are on the device itself makes sense. And its a lot more convenient too.

Of course they really should have put something else to replace the manuals on the inside of the case. The packaging as it is so tacky. At least put in some art inserts, advertisements, free PS+ codes, coupons to Chipotle, whatever.

The one benefit of Online Passes!
It really is depressing opening a new game to see nothing but the cart inside. I wish it was a standard to at least include a folded single sheet of paper with a picture on it.

Hey guys, anyone able to say if there is still a vita version of Machinarium on the way? Debating purchasing it for the ps3, but honestly would prefer it on my Vita. Cheers

Life of Pi pays homage to old school platforming, lots and lots of levels, makes me sad it's only a 'PSM game'

it would really fit well with other indie Vita games with the corresponding great sales

Why do they bother having a banner saying how much space is required to play the game when it's only ~1MB? Always seemed like something better suited towards the back of the box unless it's a large amount that might stop someone from being able to play it.
Nothing's worse than dual language boxarts like Persona 4, though, clutter hell.

Because some games require a memory card to boot. Putting it on the front of the box ensures people know that.

I thought 'some' was all games? Why not just put the 'Requires memory card' banner on the box of standalone Vitas? Or expect consumers to have some common sense..

omg omg omg...I see someone besides me...with a Vita...IN PUBLIC. This has never happened before. I don't know what to do; what to say. Should I snap a picture? Feels like I spotted the abominable snowman.

What are the chances of the youtube app being made so that I can play videos even with games loaded?

Find it annoying how i have to close my game.

Use near to find their PSN ID or something.

Not all Vita games require memory cards, and on the Vita boxes they actually do say you need a memory card to do most of the advertised things.

Wait, Soul Sacrifice has Uncle Dante? Suddenly, I'm interested.
