So I bought RocketBirds with the $10 credit I got from Sony yesterday... it looked pretty cool from the trailer. Havent played a side scroller in forever, either.

What am I in for VitaGAF? Is it decent

And by the way, Guacamelee looks awesome. I take it there's still no word on a release date?

EDIT: Shahed, I haven't seen it mentioned, but get Breath of Fire 4; Breath of Fire 3 as well if you're on the UK store as it seems you are. Both very good RPGs and neither too grindy.

You really should give some SRPGs a shot, though... I really liked Jeanne D'Arc!

Rocketbirds is awesome! You may find it a bit slow at first but keep with it. You're in for a treat!

How does Rocketbirds Vita compare to the PS3 version? I know the PS3 version received lukewarm reviews.

Rocketbirds is a simple but fun game :) I enjoyed it.

Thanks! You don't mind f I add you on PSN to play some co-op after I mess around with it a bit, do you? My PSN ID is oldyella.

Not at all! I actually forgot it had co-op and I didn't get TOO far into it so that would be fun. My PSN ID is the same as my GAF name.

I've heard from people that played the PS3 version that they improved some stuff. I hadn't played that version personally.

i am a new PS Vita owner.

my friend had a 3G model that is almost brand new. i bought it off him for like 180 $ with 16Gig memory and 2 games " i posted about it before"

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=49630278&highlight=#post49630278

Welcome to the community! Vita love knows no boundaries!

Except for memory card size.

well i have 16 Gig memory which is more than enough. specially since i dont like to buy my games online.

if i do so, i cant ever sell them if i wanted to.

with PS3 for example, i can sell my collection of games before the PS4 is out. and that will put money towards the system. specially since the PS4 isnt compatible. if i bought my PS3 games online, they will be useless for me.

thats why i like to buy hard copies if possible.

i know the answer, but in my fits of madness sometimes i go with illogical choice.

Lumines + Rayman Origins or EDF.

Value wise clearly Lumines and Rayman Origins, but I think you won't be disappointed when you buy EDF. It's crazy fun with a lot of B-movie/trash charme.

Lumines is digital crack. Everyone needs to get it while it is still on sale. I got up to almost 400,000 the other night on voyage. Game is clever in how it mixes up the intensity, and I am at the edge of my seat when playing this.

Can anyone explain the shuffle block? Does randomize everything it comes on contact with or does it do it in a predictable pattern. Only thing I am sure of is it won't randomize blocks that are separated by a gap in the floor.

So i just funded my wallet again with 20$ to purchase prince of persia classic :D

Now i have just enough money to buy one game from UBI sale. Already have rayman on hard copy.

Stop me vita gaf. Convince me that lumines is not worth it.

can someone tell me what is so good about lumines? I never played it before, puzzle games are ok but not my favorite. since I keep hearing so many good things about im thinking about buying it

It is a game that is easy to get in the zone and lose yourself for an hour or more. Music is fantastic and at times puts you in an almost Zen state when playing. Plus there is some strategy involved in how you lay blocks or how and when you trigger your special, or even what special would work best for your playstyle. It's a game that teaches you the nuances as you go so with every play you get progressively better.

I'm juggling P4G and Disgaea 3 at the moment, and plan to platinum both (which should take a while, with schoolwork and all, but I'm committed). I just got PSO2 as well, which I will start playing soon with a friend who loves the game. I'm excited!

Geez, Chapter 12 in Ninja Gaiden Sigma is crazy long. I forgot how huge some of these later chapters are.

Took me like 2 hours and 30 mins due to dying to the ghost fish while trying to get through without using too many potions. Whoops.

Now onto chapter 13.

what difficulty?

I started playing mod nation racers again :/

I get so sick of constantly getting Near goods for that dang ass game.

Played Metal Gear Solid 2 on the train for a few hours today, it's so cool that I can actually do that, haha. Playing with headphones can be risky though, nearly missed my stop.

you still on the inferior Vita versions? get the PS3* ones..seriously.

* well if you have one.

I have them. But I'm completing this for the trophies. >_> The 30FPS and stuff is doing my head in though.

Hey fellow vita gamers, in a weird dilemma and not sure what to do.

Bought a vita at launch with a 4 gig card and used that for a long time. Bought a 16 gig card a few months ago and love having the extra space. I backed up 4 gig card via content manager, synced trophies to psn then removed that card. formatted new 16 gig card, restored backup onto new card, then synced trophies again.

I noticed ever since that my trophies only show for PSN, not on local vita unless I've played the game since switching cards. I thought it was kinda weird but was told on here that's how it works, that I just need to put in gamecard and launch game at least once to show on local vita again. So this seemed to work and my plan was to gradually pop in all games as I play them to repopulate local trophies.

Problem is I'm at my parents for the weekend and I have no Internet here. Normally wouldn't be an issue but after removing P4G I'm in the mood for some quick action in hostiles mode for COD blops declassified. But I haven't played it since card transfer so its not showing trophies at all on local vita. And because I have no Internet I can't sync with psn to update local vita.

If I launch and play COD now is it gonna start trophy count over from scratch? I don't wanna put in any time if it will get lost when I do sync upon returning home.

What's gonna happen if I go to play? I might be literally stuck with only p4g for the rest of my vacation which is kind of a bummer even though I love the game

But I don't wanna mess with my trophies or play for nothing as I was at like 70% complete for that game

Thanks!

What have Vitabros been playin as of late? I've been wasting a couple of minutes on PvZ and ToMB every other night.

2 trophies from platting Plant vs. Zombies. - thats where all my time has gone the past 2 weeks. will start super stardust delta after.. maybe pick FF9 back up.

Wow it was a long ban!

Ok back on topic, i wanted something to break a little with persona 4, so thanks to gaf i decided to buy life of a pixel, i tought: "how bad a 2d platformer can be?"... I was sooo wrong!

Gaf i'm so disappointed! how can you praise such a game?!?!
I play vgs since the 8 bit era, i played all sorts of bad, broken and uber hard games, but none of them force player to jump in the void, die and redo this many times in each level! This is probably the worst game i have ever played! It really deserves to be mentioned in level design manuals as an example of how to not make levels!

Ok let's start from the beginning, graphics, audio and early static levels are good, but once scrolling or multiscreen levels come...

What i want to know is:
a)Did developers ever play vgs? Do they know that in normal conditions the player should be able to see where he goes? You can add a command to look at surroundings, or if it's really not possible add indications or bonuses in the direction to take. The only thing you know for sure when you make one of those jumps for the first time is that you'll land on spikes, enemies or water, there's no way you land on a safe spot, good work!
b)did they playtested the game? Did they really find it funny? Even super hard games have to be fair if they want to be good games.
c)to go up on the ladder you have to push down and to go down on the ladder you have to push up... What's wrong with you? And what about enemies that block the end of the ladder?

Worst 2€ spent ever, and i played the "enjoyable" patched version(the one with the retry button and different musics), i can't even imagine how bad was the original one...
