Awesome, thanks KyleN.

Well I just hope we don't get Call of Duty with Battlefield maps.
Does anyone know if this game will take place in the past, modern era, or future?

Ok what i want from BF4:
  • Complete destruction model - I want to level buildings again - no place to hide.
  • helicopters like in bc2
Worst suggestions yet? Probably.
Do not listen to this man.

Completely flattened maps by mid game (or sooner) do not make a fun game.
BC2 had the worst chopper v inf balance of any Battlefield game and thats really saying something in this franchise.

I do want some kind of destruction. Imagine this scenario: enemy reinforcements are coming through a street. You destroy a building, and it falls upon some of their soldiers. Best. MP Match. Ever.

I kinda agree with choppers, but I'm used to the choppers now. I remember the first times I used a chopper in BF3, and I don't think my squadmates were happy with that.

They just need to make the game all about multiplayer; the single player aspects should be detailed tutorials that if you complete you gain bonuses in vehicles/guns. Choppers need a fucking proper teaching lol

On destructable environments; BF3 isn't destructable enough for me but I'd be fine for another BC3 that was fully destructible and BF4 kept that 'middle ground'.

With larger maps I'd expect things like bombers to come into play so hopefully with things like the PS4 they can show the damage a building is taking and have it fall apart over time. Servers might be the big constraint here though.

64 player in full high def on ps4? count me in.

But if I think about dice being unable to fix the horrible, HORRIBLE input lag of the ps3 version of bf3 for more than a year or so ... I might have to reconsider.

You guys are talking about BC2 heli-controls > BF3 heli-controls, right?

Hm. I'm not sure which one i favour...

Generally I just think its stupid that there isn't damage from small arms against Helicopters what so ever. Vietnam is by far the best and its annoying theres been no 'expansion' in regards to BF3 frankly.

Indeed. Even if it's just minimum damage, I should be able to at least scratch helicopters with my normal guns. If 12 people are all shooting at a helicopter, I'm pretty sure it would fall.

All the DLC has been expansion packs for BF3. I kinda hope they continue with this model too. Vietnam was nice but it sucked that I couldn't play normal BC2 maps with it. The way they handled it with BF3 didn't split the community as much.

Am I the only one that expected something...different? Sure it's only a poster and the biggest bit we know about BF4 is that commander is returning, but so far I see little to no difference between the look(logo, colors, etc...) of BF3 and BF4. BF1942 to BF2 to BF3, the games underwent massive changes that made them stand out from their predecessors.

Way too early to say with any certainty, but I hope there's more to this game. For a numbered title in the "main" series, it would be a shame if the leap is as small as these early materials make it out to be.

BF3 came out on October 25, 2011. I'd be surprised if we see more than a Battlefield 3.5

How do we know commander is returning other than the rumor?

So what's your issue exactly? You're either complaining that they're holding back content, releasing too much content, or over pricing content. All of which is bullshit.

Online pass aside, EA did something very smart in giving away the first expansion for free to those who bought new for the first shipment. It also made me realize the value in each expansion and eventually made me invest in Premium. More of that, less online passes please.

uh, welcome to gaming these days. Uncharted 2 & 3 wasnt a big difference, SMG 1 & 2 wasnt a bigdifference either. And neither was Killzone 2 & 3. I could come up with several other examples also. That doesnt take away the fact that the games are good.

They need to make modes more dynamic, specifically rush mode. Like you have places to plant charges on support beams in the parking lot in the basement of a building. Not just MCOMS, just have bomb plants or something. Then when you're successful in detonation the building comes down and the map changes dramatically, so on and so forth. You get what I mean

BF maps are terribly static at times and I think more Dynamism like this would be great. That or dynamic weather, but rounds don't normally last that long for a huge amount of changes to happen. But blizzards, thunderstorms and just gusty winds would be cool. Change the battlefield a bit and stop having it so samey all the time

The Shanghai - Conquest (I'm assuming next-gen and PC 64 Player since it CQ Large) was just spoiled.

Spoiled by me, using photoshop and my crystal ball to predict the impending COD sized maps.

That looks much larger than a Call of Duty map. Troll attempt failed.

Not trolling at all, you obviously haven't played Vanilla BF 3.

City maps will be a few small blocks, about the size of a large COD map.

Nailed it.

I've put in many hours into BF 3 (vanilla included).

So, now you're comparing it to a Grand Bazaar? Which is about the size of 4 Call of Duty maps. I don't think you realise how small Call of Duty maps are.

I've put in about 400 hours with the COD franchise (not bragging, its a decent game, just setting the precedent that I know the maps very well).

Here is the map Aftermath. Maybe slightly SLIGHTLY smaller than Grand Bazaar:

I don't want to debate this. The fact remains, the Vanilla BF3 maps were designed to entice COD players over to the Battlefield franchise and in MY opinion, it lost the core of what made Battlefield 2 so great (yes, BF3 is a sequel to BF2, NOT Bad Company 2).

I have a hope that BF4 is the true sequel to BF2 that so many of us wanted.

^ Judging by that Chinese leak, BF4 will be even more geared towards attracting the COD audience, so you might be out of luck there.

The fact that the Chinese J20 was spotted is fairly telling. I posted it last page I think.

I meant, just because there appears to be a Chinese map doesn't necessarily mean there will be a playable Chinese faction. There were no Iranian or French factions in BF3.

(yes, BF3 is a sequel to BF2, NOT Bad Company 2).

Or it was supposed to be, anyway.

Anyone that thinks Aftermath in Black Ops 2 is even CLOSE to the size of anything in BF3 never played the game. The largest CoD map I can think of is Array from BO1, and even that map is significantly smaller than anything offered in standard BF3 maps.

If they add VOIP, Commander, and 6 man squads along with larger maps for the PC community, I have hope for the game. If the game does not even hint to including any of this, then I will be too busy playing Arma 3.

That map (like nearly all CoD maps) is designed around close to medium range engagements. Even Bazaar has far more long range opportunities.
