Decided to try playing P4 after getting stuck at
the bird boss
after saving in the dungeon on the last day.

Twice in a row got hit with a 140+ damage move that kills the protagonist in one hit right before winning. Can't remember how this game was supposed to be fun :(
Only thing I can do to avoid it is keeping him at 100% HP constantly..

Tough boss.

Summon: Prince Charming:
The biggest issue is running out of SP. When she loses 1/3rd of her HP
she'll summon Prince Charming. Take out Prince Charming as soon
as it's summoned. You don't need to even deplete all of PC's HP because
it will flee away. Might need to have Chie constantly use Guard. You
don't want the boss getting 2 turns by abusing Chie's weakness. Try to
| use a persona with Media who isn't weak against Fire. The persona to aim
for is Oberon with Media (Oberon resists fire). Unlike P4, this boss
does have a weakness to Ice, so do try to abuse that whenever possible
Terror Voice is used when her HP is really low (inflicts Fear).
| Prince Charming: Uses Diarama, White Wall, Makajam,

Thankfully have no SP problems, biggest issue with the boss is just it's cheap kills. Lost 4 total battles so far just because it throws an insane attack at my protagonist whenever his HP is under 150 (insta-kill territory). Annoying :(

Edit: Welp. Fifth try.
Did a double-attack that did -160+- damage to protagonist, healed him as much as I could with two Dias, then it did another unwarned burn to ashes to kill the protagonist seemingly 1-2 turns away from winning. Ughhh.
I can easily lock down the Prince with Izanagi's lightning attack, and lock down the bird (when the wall is down) with Chie's ice attack, but I cannot deal with consecutive 160+ damage attacks, especially the AOE one..
Almost as torturously unfun as playing Let's Fish right about now.
Edit2: Beat it on my 6th try and probably about ~3-4 hours wasted thanks to a complete fluke miss. :/

Yeesh, I could use some help on some Inferno stages in EDF if you haven't deleted it already!

Also to answer from before, I'm pretty sure there's no official Sony method to check trophy rarity, only via stuff like psnprofiles or yourgamercards.
Which levels do you need? With Storm1 or Pale Wing (or both)? How much health do you have on each character?

Ah ok, maybe i checked some 3rd party site instead and somehow mixed it up for being an official Sony site.

I can't tell you the # of times I had 1-3 blocks left. >_<
I must've wasted like 80,000+ gems on trying to get it. Was so happy I got it one night... I forgot that I had and woke up the next day and saw the trophy on my raptr card in my signature on another forum and thought "did I really get that last night? holy shit!" :D
Hehe, something similar happend to me actually. Last night i was just hitting "play" and let the Vita run to boost the 100-hour playtime trophy. I didnt watch my Vita, then turned it off after i was done. Today i checked my trophies online and i see that i have 100% percent of the trophies in the game. I didnt notice that i got the trophy on my Vita :)

But yeah, getting that Nuclear Blast trophy is sweet :) As you say, several times only a few blocks are left on the screen. I had a few of those rounds myself. I managed to get it with using dynamite and purple totem. Kept trying to get only 4 in a row or two purple combos in a row. I probably had like 5-7 dynamites when the round ended.

Similar... I was experimenting also with white totem and lightning.
Might've just had purple totem and dynamite when I got it though.

You sound underleveled, don't need to grind necessarily but it wouldn't hurt to gain a few levels and upgrade your equipment. Don't forget to stop by the weapon shop and sell off all of the drops (unless you are doing fetch quests then make sure you fulfill those requests first). This gives you a lot of money as well as access to new equipment to use.

assuming you are buying it off the store then yes. if you were to buy a 3/12 month code from amazon then it wouldn't count.

the spend deal just keeps track of how much money you went through on your psn account.

Which is why I'm curious to how people are getting the "PSM purchases don't count" bit... :\

If I recall it correctly the big AOE attack is telegraphed. When the boss charges up it will use it in the next round. Just guard and stop attacking.

not sure either, but sony can be special sometimes so it's not beyond the realm of possibility that PSM could be excluded, but it doesn't seem likely unless you can't use your PSN wallet with the PSM... (I wouldn't know nothing on the PSM has interested me enough to buy from it)

Does anyone know if the 30$ price for EDF is permanent?

i think it was just a two week sale meaning on tuesday it goes back to it's $40 price, but I am not 100% on that.

from the drop
we have dead or alive 5+ + demo coming this week
Carnage Heart EXA which is listed as vita compatible
and PS1 classic Hogs of War which vita compatibility is unknown at this time.

Would importing a $40 HK copy of 2017 be worth it or would I be better off just going for the console version? I don't want any more digital games.

Anybody play blazblue? I picked it up even though I suck at fighter games and while its fun I really don't know what i'm doing. Any tips?

That boss is annoying, but the game is basically a lot easier after that fight.

It has a really good set of tutorials, including character specific ones. There's a lot going on and the characters all play really differently so it's definitely tough to learn if you try to take advantage of every system and subsystem. But you don't really need to do that if you don't want to.

I think I'm going to skip the Lumines/Rayman sale. I need to quit buying games if I'm only going to play them a few times and never pick them up again. I started ~18 games these past few months and have barley scratched the surface of the majority of them.

Anyone been playing Switch Galaxy? It reminds me of a game I used to play back in highschool. It's a simple game but still a lot of fun.

Looks like P4G sold out on Amazon, its not $30 anymore and switched to a third party seller.

Really looking forward to trying it, since i think i'm ready to play an RPG after being burned out on them for a while now. I haven't played a Persona game since the 1st on PSone, and I don't remember it being that great. So I hope this is as good as everyone says it is.

EDIT: Ahh. I just saw that Zulux. Says temporarily OoS but they are getting more.

Hmm i'll have to go through the tutorials, I had started but never finished them.

Xbox 360 Portable

My Little Handheld Can't Possibly Be This Cute

I know this is terrible to say, and I promise I am not trying to stir any flames. But with your comment, I cannot help but think that a Xbox Portable would end up looking something like the Leapster LeapFrog handheld that my nephew had.

Thanks for pointing out the P4G sale on Amazon earlier guys, was able to get a copy before they sold out of the current stock.

I can see the resemblance:

Microsoft loves dat green and white combo.

Thinking about buying Tactics Ogre (PSP) for my Vita.

I'm not a big RPG Fan, but: Played Valkyria Chronicles (Ps3) recently. I don't know why exactly but it totally reminded me of my huge Heroes of Might and Magic 2+3 (PC) and Advance Wars addiction many years ago.

So after looking for something that plays similiar on the Vita I found many recommendations for Tactics Ogre. After looking some videos I really want to give it a try. I know that it is quite different and I think much more complex than these titles, but the hexagon style fights and the neat look of it caught my eye.

A few questions:

Has this game ever been on sale? Psp Games rarely are on sale I know, but 20 Euro is pretty much if I am not completly sure if I like it in the end.

Any other recommendations? Valkyria Chronicles 2 obviously, but having finished Part 1 only days ago I dont want to buy it. As I said I like strategy/also Hexagon-battles, but the apparently complex item/rpg-focus of tactics ogre are the things that keep me from buying it.

I guess we won't be getting our $20 codes from referrals for a while. The rules say to wait 4-8 weeks after the contest ends and the contest ends May 10.

Lol, holy shit. That's a bummer, was hoping to use it for the Bioshock season pass

I thought it ended on 2/28.

I thought so too. I guess I got the $20 cards and the Sony Rewards points mixed up? It still doesn't make sense because of the contest date in the rules.

Sony being Sony, I guess.

Like another poster said above there's an extremely in depth tutorial in game that's absolutely great at explaining the core mechanics.

Okay, now that we've got that out of the way, you're 80% likely to forget those same mechanics the moment you finish the tutorial. There are just way too many characters (not in the street fighter sense--each character is ridiculously diverse) and you're going to have a headache remembering basic strings because they all play differently.

So we understand that it's hard, the tutorial only gives a rudimentary feel for the game but we're feeling confident. Probably enough to take on arcade!

No, I wouldn't do that. The first few matches fine, but once you get to the last it's just a shitty day in the neighborhood. So we've returned to point A.

Point A dictates that we go learn specific character moves. Who caught your eye in the tutorial? No one? That's fine, that's why you get a story mode! Go ahead and play it out! You'll find a character or two that works wonders for your style. Then go learn their combos! How? There's a mode for that too! How lucky right?

But you're dropping combos left and right with the analog stick...so my advice would be to switch to directional buttons mainly (unless its uncomfortable, but they're so much better for reaching specials/supers and chaining combos). Also, I'd try not to rely on Stylish too much and learn the classic gameplay.

Other than that, BlazBlue is an awesome game! Enjoy the ride.
