But you're dropping combos left and right with the analog stick...so my advice would be to switch to directional buttons mainly (unless its uncomfortable, but they're so much better for reaching specials/supers and chaining combos). Also, I'd try not to rely on Stylish too much and learn the classic gameplay.

Other than that, BlazBlue is an awesome game! Enjoy the ride.

people try to use a controller/handheld's analog stick for fighters... who knew o.O: DPAD for life o.o;

also... long live stylish :P

top of the page recommendation: buy a microfiber towel to clean off your vita screen... your fingers are dirty, your vita will love you more if you treat it with care :P

The major problem with "dropping combos" is that they didn't bring the PSP ports of BB/Guilty Gear's "shortcut" option to this port. You can't shortcut 236's into 26's. I can understand why (too easy for onliner's, I guess) but if Street vs Juggle can do it as a gem, why wouldn't you give the option? Sometimes it's hard to get 41236's or 236's out given how cramped the D-pad and left-stick are near each-other.

Like another poster said above there's an extremely in depth tutorial in game that's absolutely great at explaining the core mechanics.

Okay, now that we've got that out of the way, you're 80% likely to forget those same mechanics the moment you finish the tutorial. There are just way too many characters (not in the street fighter sense--each character is ridiculously diverse) and you're going to have a headache remembering basic strings because they all play differently.

So we understand that it's hard, the tutorial only gives a rudimentary feel for the game but we're feeling confident. Probably enough to take on arcade!

No, I wouldn't do that. The first few matches fine, but once you get to the last it's just a shitty day in the neighborhood. So we've returned to point A.

Point A dictates that we go learn specific character moves. Who caught your eye in the tutorial? No one? That's fine, that's why you get a story mode! Go ahead and play it out! You'll find a character or two that works wonders for your style. Then go learn their combos! How? There's a mode for that too! How lucky right?

Tutorials for the characters don't really help as they explain the "basics" of the character but don't show it in a tutorial. You can "see" a basic combo but not the style of gameplay that they describe. Like Carl's dad Relis Clover: They describe him as "looser/less-strict form of Carl" but then basically go "lol just wail on Bang until half health. kay?" With no showing what you want to do.

And then after doing that: "Oh here's some combos you'll probably never remember since we don't put this somewhere in the training modes for you to use. Tutorial end!"

I must have small hands or something... cause with enough practice, I was able to do all of the achievement/trophy combos on Vita after some practice.

Besides, if you want to know combos and how a character works, you should go into the trials, whatever they're called... you should be able to get something out of it.

Finished P4G recently. But I haven't been feeling the backlog games I have on the Vita to fill my Persona-shaped hole. There was something about P4G that fit so perfectly into my free time. Such a perfect game to kill a few minutes or a few hours. I know I could try P3P, but I thought I'd take a break from the franchise for a while.

Anyway, I was thinking maybe it was a JRPG thing. I've never been that in love with the genre, but P4G, it making me want to try more. So I'm having a crack at FFVII (which I bought during that sale a few weeks back). I only played a third of the way through back when it first came out, so I thought it would be fun to revisit.

I have X-box Duke-sized hands that felt the Duke was comfortable, so take that with some grain of salt. I find them to be a little too cramped with how small the system is and having to grip it/avoid the backtouch.

As for the trial mode: That doesn't really explain "practical" combos in most fighters and I absolutely hate sitting there for hours trying to hit one combo only to lose the rest. Having them in practice mode where you could see timing and the keys then practice them would be far more practical than a trial mode. But we can't do that since LOL ACHIEVEMENTS MUST BE TIED TO THESE PRACTICES!

Oh, I'm with you on that shit.
I know I wish I could get them to show that shit in practice/trial mode too.
Even if you teach people timing, it doesn't mean that they can still pull off the combos though, so the achievements/trophies shouldn't matter.
Being able to bring any of those from challenges up in training is a great idea... but since we don't have it, thank God for the internets, right? At least you can look things up over at SRK or dustloop or eventhubs or whatever. Better than when I grew up and it was "figure out your own stuff or have someone whup you with it and try to reverse engineer it".

I've been skeptical about this whole referral program since the beginning. To tell you the truth, I don't think Sony will ever honor it. Remember the whole Vita thing with Taco Bell where winners weren't being given Vita's until they started complaining online and calling them? Yeah...

Technically would it be possible to buy a vita game on my Japanese account on my ps3 and then copy it over to my US account vita?

Hi guys, maybe this has been answered to death, but could you tell me good, realiable places to buy USA PSN Cards/Codes from EU?

Thx in advance.

Well, it did turn out to be a big circle jerk with people who already owned vitas referring one another, which was entirely not the point. Their fault (as usual), I know.

Anybody play blazblue? I picked it up even though I suck at fighter games and while its fun I really don't know what i'm doing. Any tips?

For start stick to Noel, Jin, Ragna - those are easiest to play and most similar to other fightning games.

After you get some experience with those you can try to expand into whoever else you like.

Starting with someone like Rachel or Carl i can only imagine would be very frustrating since the mechanics for them are extremly complicated.

You can buy them from amazon.com without the markup that the other site usually have. Just use an US address for your billing address and your credit card will work.

Im really liking the end game of Ragnarok Odyssey. I managed to get a team together to plow through chapter 9 last friday so that put me onto the extra quests and finding cards and items etc etc.

Theres about 30 extra quests and some are really hard. Gonna take a while to do them I think. However to do some I still need to hunt down a few better cards, get that damn piece of unknown metal to finish my armour upgrade and then full upgrade my weapon. Not to mention there are 6 classes you switch between freely so I can try and get a complete set for each class.

Put 47 hours into it so far. Been really fun. Not stressful at all and the community is small but helpful so far. Really glad I bought this and really at £24.99 its great value.

The end game is definitely more interesting than the early and mid game because the bosses require a lot more strategy. You can basically button bash through the first 2 thirds of the game if you want to (although using the right combos at the right time is still a benefit).

Making me look forward to Soul Sacrifice even more. I really like his genre (accept for MH, alhtough online I might enjoy it). Just reminds me of the fun I had with PSO. Also hope GE2 gets ported as I really liked GEB. That online would have been awesome.

Despite the obvious flaws, I'm getting into Sigma 2+. I haven't played long enough before firmware 2.06 to notice any input lag issues addressed but parts where 3-4 enemies causing slowdown seemed to be addressed. I will admit that this game is making me want to play the original Sigma 2 on PS3 once I finish the Vita game.

So God Eater Burst, can you play the entire story mode in co-op? I've already got it (but haven't really played) and my brother is considering getting it.

As far as I am aware I think so (and a little googe search also implies this is the case). But I havn't had the chance to try it for my self.

Its also really good single player because of the AI team mates. So while I went through the whole game single player and loved it, I imagine i would be really great co-op.

The guy just editted his tweet & explains why it's not funny.
(It makes them difficult to ballpark how many Vita software copies to order).

So basically a higher % of Vita owners buy more games than other systems.

I would guess this is because most Vita owners are prob core gamers with a much smaller casual user base.

Makes sense really.

I was wondering this as well. I don't own it, but before GEB2 comes I do want to give it a try. It seems like you can get it online with the PS3 Ad-hoc app? But I'm not sure how that would work if you've bought the game on the UK store - since as far as I know, isn't the Ad-Hoc app only available via the US store? Would you even be able to cross them over?

Hey, this is Laurent Mercure from Frima Studio here,

We're glad that you guys are excited about Nun Attack coming to the PlayStation Vita. If you have questions about the game, I'll answer the best I can or seek the answer for you : )

Have a great day!
