One month from today: BioShock Infinite

Or Liz...

Twist ending:

Elizabeth is actually Comstock.

It's almost an hour from noon...still no update on IGN?
It's funny, I don't care for IGN or critical gaming journalism, but MAN I would like to see a review today. Desperate to hear how the whole thing came together.

I'm EST, it's almost 2:00 here. I think IGN updates at 3:00? Don't hold me to it.

I just redeemed my Gaming Evolved code for Infinite. It game me a "Your promotion code has successfully been activated..." but the box was empty!

Anybody else experiencing the same?

You'll get an email. Though, I haven't actually been emailed my key for this game yet.

Looking forward to checking this out on PC when it comes out. Haven't really been following it insanely close, just the odd article or interview. I'm pretty confident that even if it's not as amazing as everyone hopes it'll be, it'll still be well worth playing.

Lawds, that is some gushing praise. But seriously, the force is indeed strong with this one.

"Now, going back to my original imagery comment, a player would have to be blind to miss the symbolism. We begin in the sea (the setting of the previous games), travel up a lighthouse (a phallic structure if ever there was one) which we are then shot out of in a capsule which limits the players view to a porthole that could very well represent the opening to a vagina. When we arrive, a baptism is required. This is symbolic of birth, or rather RE-birth. The manner of the baptism is much like that of Born Again Christians, and from my reading, represents the rebirth of the franchise. This is not Rapture. This isn't even Bioshock as we know it. This is Bioshock Infinite."

Love this shot.

Are there spoilers in the preview? I don't want to know "anything" about the game, I only watched the first trailer + the first gameplay extract that was released.
Thanks! Cannot wait anymore. :(

Damn, Liz looks really pissed.

The more the game goes on the darker it gets? first it's all good blue sky, sun and Liz is happy, dancing around and such and the more the game progresses it get's more cloudy and dark?

So hyped.

Been going back and forth with Amazon support about the fact that I never got an Industrial Revolution code with my pre-order. On the verge of canceling my order an pre-ordering from Steam if they don't get it sorted out :(

Looks that way and I truly hope that is the case.

Wait people are getting the codes already? I thought that stuff doesn't go out until the game has shipped

Editor’s Note: Our exclusive review of BioShock Infinite will be published this Thursday evening, March 21 at 9pm Pacific/12am Eastern Time. Until then, keep checking back with IGN every day for more exclusive BioShock Infinite content during BioShock Week! It’s a lot like Shark Week, except the sharks are clouds. Is there always going to be a lighthouse?

I'm guessing embargo is up next week then...

No one stands like that either. He looks like he's getting ready to D up Lebron James.

Well that's actually a possible shooting stance.

You either have your legs shoulder width apart, like he is doing, or you do dominant leg forward, slightly bent.

His stance is a little over exaggerated, but works.

Here's a quote from IGN's 'Review in Progress' about the 360 version.

Columbia is stunning from a scale, scope, and art-direction perspective, but on a raw graphical level it is a bit underwhelming on the Xbox 360 version I’m starting with. Textures are muddy and low-resolution and the framerate takes regular slight-but-noticeable dips. It reminds me of the console version of Dishonored in that way.

Wonder how many cancelled pre orders will this lead to?

edit: Damn you Duke.

Is IGN that ignorant? He literally just described every console game.

ITT we learn that these consoles are 8 years old and can barely run games at the level that devs are wanting to run them at for a few years now. Sacrifices have to be made to keep up that cinematic 24fps before it becomes an even more cinematic 15fps.

Does that suddenly make it acceptable?

They can't fix severely outdated hardware no matter how much 'coding to the metal' is done.

Even games considered amazing for consoles like Uncharted series or Halo 4 have horrible textures and overall IQ.

I look at screenshots that people post and they look pretty poor.
