Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

I'm having a tough time choosing Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins or Rocketbirds Vita. Which one you guys think I should get first? I'm hoping to get a PSN cash card sometime this week.

GnG is one of my favorites games ever. But I'd recommend rocketbirds to encourage moe developers to take the risk on Vita games. Plus, it looks nicer and has trophies.

damn, I already spent $100 this month, at first I just bought extention for plus since I didn't see anything interesting, then there are sales so I bought lumines and rayman on impulse, also bought dead space dlc and urban trials just to get another $50. now there's totori, still curious about doa vita and I've been thinking if I want rocketbirds or not.

I really want totori, but I think I already buy a lot of games this month, but then again, not buying it now means I'm passing up the $10 back promo. this sucks.

I think I'll wait, hopefully they have another buy $50 get $10 back for next month

wow I just got a vita and having never own a ps3 before I have to say Sony online store is a piece of shit. I've never been so frustrated trying to buy shit online. The store didn't take any of my credits card despite me using the same card 2 week ago to get plus, navigation in the store is terrible with constant time out and lag, it feels like they don't want my money. I don't know how they expect me to trust them with my credit cards info when their store is even worse than some of the tiny import website that I buy from...

Some folks don't like the streamlined world traversal. Me, I prefer it. Not looking forward to actually have to walk down streets to get from place to place when I get P4G.

Have you played P4G? The few streets you do get to walk on are short but beautifully detailed.

No problems here. Sure you aren't just having a problem with your home wifi?

^^^^^Lol, so true. That thing is a mess.

This....does not sound like the store I use on the vita.

I've made it to chapter 4 of Carnage Hearts EXA. In some ways it's very familiar (programming OKEs), but in some ways it's very different.

Instead of managing research and resources for fighting an OKE based war, there's more of a visual novel thing going on between a young, mysterious, rich guy who wants to learn to program OKEs and his genius Caltech attending tutor. I suppose I could fast forward through the story bits, but it's strangely compelling.

I don't really care much about trophies but what you and the above poster make a good point. I'll buy Rocketbirds now and hopefully by the end of this week, I'll get a PSN cash card for the UGnG.

I had big problems today with that pos online store as well.
2 cards and neither would go through due to some info not being correct which is bullshit as i used the one card for a bunch of purchases recently. had to buy psn cards so as i was putting in codes i deleted all my CC info.

How are the controls for controlling the OKE yourself?

My spending this month on games alone is ridiculous. Ok, no more games except for asura's wrath and soul sacrifice...

Bought P3P, Power Stone Collection, and MonHun.

Maybe it's because its the first psp game I've played on vita, but power stone collection looks a lot better than I thought it would. Shit, I'm impressed. Fun game too.

I was using the web store since the one on vita is terrible lol. Finally managed to get stuff that I want. Maybe I'm just spoiled since I'm mainly play games on PC and steam and amazon has made things so simple.

ps: I also have a 3ds and nintendo store is even worse lol I don't buy anything from their eshop

Hmm, sad to hear, my condolences. It's really how I feel about the new PS3 store, though the Vita store and Web store work great for me.

Just bought Totori and DoA.
Had to delete Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus to make room, but hey, I already Platinumed it and afaik nobody's beaten my score for the Path of the GAF Ninja yet.

There are "example programs" which are basically canned solutions. They control pretty well- it's like a slowed down version of armor core, and it's easy to take those example programs and remap buttons. Also, the programs are relatively easy to understand for anyone who has played the PS1 Carnage Hearts.

On the other hand, it is also easy to program in really terrible controls if you have no idea what you're doing and have it barely work. I'm being kind of lazy at the moment and using the canned solutions. I'm still just doing tutorials.

I'm not sure what it is, but this pic gets me into Yukiko (P4G) hysterics every time I see it.

Hmmm.
I haven't had good experiences with the PSP Armored Core games, so that's not too encouraging. It's been a while since I played Carnage Hearts, so hopefully the tutorials are helpful. :b
Looking forward to more impressions!

I have $ 62 on my wallet and for sure I'll complete the $ 150 for receiving my $ 30 back on april (Machinarium is a sure thing for example)... but I do not know if I spend all or hope april releases.

Is persona 2 worth getting GAF? The price is finally down for some time. Should I buy it? I haven't even started P4G.

And how much does Monster Hunter hold up?

Only get Monster Hunter if you have someone willing to play it with you, otherwise I'd not recommend it. P2 is a completely different hog from P4G, if you find yourself enamored with the series after P4 and P3 check it out. For $10 there's a chance you won't like it.

My point of reference is the PS2 version. I played half of it and then my Launch PS3 died. (GRRR) But from what you say it sounds like the vita port may be a bit different.

Guess I will pass them both. Thanks.

Is the webstore working okay for everyone? At first I could not even login. Then it was a hassle to add items to cart. Some items showing error "Unable to add to to cart" Now its not showing my cart when I Click on it.

You 'just' got your vita?

Because I think I had the exact same credit card issue before I updated my vita firmware fully. Or... Maybe that's impossible.

the psn store can be a finicky.

For example I have to use my wife's credit card on it. It just out right won't accept mine as a valid payment even though I have tried every single variation of my name that I could think of and the one on my statement a few times.

meanwhile my wife's card on the same account, same address I put in, just her name and a different card number works just fine :/

I am half expecting when we get new cards next month that it will accept mine but not hers lol.

if you have some spare change, get Nun Attack! fun little game

it's only 2.99

I asked in the store thread but I've gotten no response yet.

What is the actual gameplay like? Does it pay like that iOS game Battleheart?
i.e. You touch control each character around the playfield while they autoattack, and you can set off special moves everynow and then?

I do have 3 dollars in my account. Hmm...I'll have to consider it.

I'm not him, but I do believe that's how it's played.

Please help. I need to delete Persona 3 for making space on my memory. Thing is I can't find the saves when I try to back up to the cloud... is not on the options.

Is there other way for back up before deleting the game?

You can't cloud save PSP games, so you have to back up using Content Manager on your PC.

I am gonna spend so much money this week...

Btw, does anyone know if the costumes currently being offered with NGS2+ are gonna be offered as paid DLC in the future? Thanks in advance.

zomg!

Powerstone and Ultimate GnG for 5$?

Where the hell was I?

I might even cave for P3P at 10$ as well....

Perfect time to grab that 16GB from Best Buy

And also, the saves for PSP games don't get deleted when you delete the game, they're not tied to the bubble like Vita games.

Oh, thanks. That's a relief.

But... what if I want to delete one?

Where do I find them? I tried "system", "content manager", but I can't find it...

No in-app purchases. Games cost more to publish on PSN, and it has trophies.

And it has enhanced graphics too...

Quote from designer:
"We’ve upgraded the graphics a notch, and entirely redesigned the difficulty of the levels since we’ve removed all of the micro-transaction mechanics".
"Nun Attack PS Vita features:
Challenging tactical action and reflexive gameplay
Rebalanced leveling and weaponry for PS Vita play
Improved graphics for PS Vita
40 missions to conquer in multiple stunning environments
Four nuns, each with a unique personality and special power
A full shop with over 80 guns to equip with various effects (stun, slow, DOT, AoE, Knockback, Fear, Charm)
Seven miracles to cast"
