Top-level COD competitions look like what we expect

So did anyone watch the video until the end? You guys never ever swear? Watch it till the end for the final words of the author and think about it.

Everyone swears, but the guys in the video cross the line between being foul-mouthed and being verbally abusive imo

I did, and I agree that there is nothing really "wrong" with it. It's kind of embarrassing to watch, though. You always think, "wow, do I really act like this sometimes?"

I have a video that I secretly took of my friend playing MvC2 online and raging 10X harder than these guys.

To be fair, they should of put that context at the beginning of the video, not the end. Having people sit through that nonsense then explaining why is just a bad way of explaining things.

Kinda hate the "moral" of the story: It's ok to be a douchebag if it makes you play better and there's money on the line.

When I'm alone, I swear a lot, but I can't imagine swearing like this on voice chat or when other people are around.

Coming from a Pro PC gamer this is what happens when you support home consoles in the competitive scene. And its totally what they deserve.

Right...

Because PC gamers don't swear in online games, true story!

They do, but there's more to competitive PC games than "Pull left trigger, pull right trigger". Getting angry and making an ass of yourself over such a simplistic game is hilarious.

How on earth are there competitions for it?

I play Dota and they are the most eventful people when competing.

The tea and crackers after matches are the best.

LOL.

So if I give you a controller you can just go and play COD on a competitive level right?

It is "Pull left trigger, pull right trigger" right?

This is just how we top-level super competitive people blow off steam.

If you were as fierce you would understand.

Jesus are you serious? Some elitist nonsense here...

Pull left trigger, aim, pull right trigger then?

On the other hand, its the most popular online shooter in the world, so the best players are the best from millions, rather than hundreds of thousands...

Pity they werent fighting with real guns. Hated the narrator playing devils advocate as well.

This thread is getting a little testy

Well played Nibel

I just hated that dude who got up off his chair and started pointing and starting talking shit with the other team
Then their teammates + managers egg him on to do more

It happens in real sports too. However, in real sports there's usually some kind of referee that punishes the worst cases of verbal abuses, in games there's nothing like that.

League of Legends tournaments are for much more money and the behaviour is much, much better. People on reddit started complaining that some players on the losing team stayed sat down when the other team went to shake their hands and the next week every single person stood up when shaking hands.

The fact you describe yourself as a "pro PC gamer" is hilarious. And I know you're deadly serious as well.

As for this video. People swear when playing games some of the stuff I used to hear when playing Counter Strike was hilarious and the only thing on the line in those matches was stats.

Think I might attend a COD competition if a meteor is going to hit the Earth just so I can die happy knowing that life is coming to an end.

Much much better than American Esports, you guys can have dudes screaming in 20 different languages over there. Even English sounded foreign to me half the time from what I was hearing lol.

Not really an accurate way of looking at it, as the number of people who attempt to be "competitive" in COD and the number of people who attempt to be competitive in CS are more than likely pretty close.

ew.

Competitive CoD and Halo players could learn a thing or from the esports pros playing Quake and SC2, seriously. I think I'll watch some SC2 vods to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.
