Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Well I just played against Alma last night on NGS. Beat her on my first try... It felt like something was wrong... This didn't happen 10 years ago when I played it on the xbox...

The lack of lock-on is because you have to aim, every monster has different weakpoints and certain areas that hitting will shatter and get you unique drops. Or in one example, Quropeco puffs out its chest as it howls for help (from nearby Jaggis). You can throw Sonic Bombs to silence (and stun it), or you can quickly wail on it to break it to the same effect and a drop. Then you need to memorize its attacks, and warning signs for them.

Then you have barrel bombs, stun traps, poisoned meat, and so on. Not sure where 'no depth' comes from, I have never played a real-time game with more depth.

Sorry, even if I still enjoy MH, I can still recognize that it's a clunky game. Just because a program forces you to learn workarounds for every one of its issues doesn't magically make the program defect free, even if you argue that the issues are actually features.

You can punish people for being reckless and spamming button presses without making attacks take a few seconds to execute, for instance. Demon/Dark Souls does this by having attacks use up varying amounts of stamina. The Soul(s) games also have zones, but they're not itty bitty zones that throw up loading screens every other minute.

The online system has always been on the archaic side, a kind of lumbering dinosaur. Deep down there is a fun game in there, but you have to dig past a great deal of cruft. IMO, we would be better off promoting franchises that are less afraid of progress.

Man, what would I give for a Souls game on the Vita!
I'll keep dreaming...don't think it will ever happen

Has anyone attempted to remote play their PS3 copy? Might try that later.
Adjusting the timing for a parry > riposte will be fun.

Doing Heavy attacks on the back touch panel however...

That headset is simply the best headset you can possibly buy for the price. It works with everything that either has a mini jack or a USB port. Sound quality is excellent for the price, wireless or with cable.
They would be near perfect if only the battery lasted a little longer. Though it only needs battery for all the gizmos (wireless, sound mode presets, bass impact).

I got this recently and I have to agree. Bass impact is surprisingly good. I though it'd be just another gimick to turn off, but I actually like it and use it in games. It's a shame the battery only lasts like 4 hours. I also like that the mode names (music, games, shooter, etc) are voiced when you change them. It's the little details.

I haven't tried it with the Vita yet, but it should work just as well.

As for the Vita, my 32GB card is pretty much full and I've had to delete a few games already, good thing PS+ keeps your saves, though it should be standard. However having a Vita with no Plus is insane right now IMO. It's a great value.

As a result I'm really careful about what I buy now, which is a shame.

I can confirm it's just fine with the Vita, though obviously you need the cable for that.

I can't handle the bass impact, it messes with my head.

Any Vitahomies played the new monster hunter on 3ds? I don't have a WiiU and will never have one so I wouldn't be able to play online. I would have to buy a 3ds to play this thing and I want to know if its worth it over just getting MHFU (I played about 150 hours of this a couple years ago) again and scratching the itch.

Yeah, even if it works i don't think it will be playable.

As for the MH clones, I'm more interested in the new God Eater... and of course Soul Sacrifice, but this Toukiden doesn't look half bad I guess

is p3p roughly the same difficulty as persona 4? i played through persona 4 on easy and really enjoyed it. people always tell me that shin megami tensei games are difficult though, so i wonder if persona 3 is harder on the same difficulty.

I played them both on normal. P3P is harder but still not really hard. The final boss is a lot harder in p3p than the one in p4g though

And neither is difficult. Its just that Mega Ten likes to gives the odd boss an instant haha your dead move to screw you up.

Bullshots:The official portable game

it will be funny when the real in-game screenshots look even worse than Textures Sacrifice.

I would like to remind you and the other skeptical ones that dynasty warriors next is native resolution with 4xAA with an amount of enemies immensely higher than the one in those screenshots(2 is the max lol).
PS:
in dwn every single enemy has high quality shadows projected even on stairs.

P3P is a lot easier, I died many, many times in P4G, but P3P is a lot less brutal and the final boss is usually a cakewalk. Enjoy! The best PSP game out there IMO, and should be a perfect game after coming off P4.

thing is,the game is horrible and completely butchered and not a real Persona experience.

avoid it.

SG main problem is that it's very short.

the space tracks should be longer and harder(faster action).

Yeah, it's pretty short, but think about this: I believe the first game, Switch, had ONLY the endless runner mode. This has that plus the full, albeit short, campaign. And it's a low price, so I think it's a pretty good deal really.
